Hi! I'm wanting to change the bulbs for the 4 interiors overhead lamps in my FG F6 to LED's. The manual says they are 5W/T10 wedge's but it doesn't say how to remove the plastic covers to access them ... can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the covers off? There doesn't seem to be an obvious place for me to pry them open using a screwdriver or anything ... any help would be most appreciated!! Thank you in advance :-)

Had two Fords: 2004 BA Mk1 XR6T, 25000km, sold it after my 12 month finance lease expired. No problems, no issues, perfect. 2005 BA Mk2 XR6T, 15000km, handed it back after my 12 month operating lease expired. Modded with a CAPA box, ran with the generic 10psi tune. No problems, no issues, perfect. Must have been lucky that I had two good cars.

Just bought a Dell Inspiron 9300, 2ghz, 533mhz fsb,100gb hdd, 1024mb ddr2 ram, dvd+-DL, 128mb x300 graphics card, bluetooth, 17" widescreen 1920x1200 resolution, wireless b/g, latest senoma centrino, 6xusb2.0, firewire 400, dvi, free 3-in-1 printer, free laptop backpack, larger battery, paid less than $3200 delivered after utilizing a $400 off online coupon, then got it salary packaged so it cost me $1600 after tax, then will claim the gst back when I go to NZ in a couple of weeks, hence costing me a total of just over $1300 !!! Am very pleased with it, comparable to the IBM and HP's I had before, couldn't be happier !

Yes, you are right, I paid GST on the residual when I paid out the fleet company but when I sold it (for significantly more than the residual) there is no gst to pay. The first quote I gave was for my first xr6t doing 25000km, I've now another xr6t, this one for 15000km.

I'm on my second T, didn't have any problems with my 1st one and so I took a chance and bought my second one, a mkii, 7 weeks ago and have had no problems whatsoever apart from noticing that it had slightly less power than my 1st one (an Edit fixed that !). My dealer is excellent (Strapp Ford Doncaster), and when I need a service, they even offer to pick my car up from my house, drop off a complimentry XT for me to drive during the day, and then drop off my car again at the end of the day (maybe it's because Strapp Ford are the preferred dealer for Custom Fleet who buy thousands of them thru there and so there customers get a better level of service than Joe Bloggs off the street ??). Probably won't buy another T again as I like to rollover my cars reasonably frequently. I don't need the space (had a 2-door Civic GTI a few cars back), don't need the comfort (had a modified WRX 2 cars ago), I just like variety. Next car will be something like the Mazda MPS, Mitsi Evo IX, STi, 350Z or something like that.

As a result of Sat's show and tell, I went in to see Mario this afternoon and bought myself a CAPA box, loaded up the 10psi program and whoosh !!! I can actually hear the turbo whistle now hehe ! And wow, the pull in 1st and 2nd is amazing, I think I'm getting addicted !!! Many thanx Mario, the Edit is the best bang for your buck, will go back in a few weeks and get it dyno'ed once the car's been run in a bit more ...

I'm totally sold on the edit too, I'm picking up a CAPA unit from Mario on Mon afternoon !! Since my car is only 6 weeks old and done only 1600km I'll just go with the standard 8 and 10 psi programs until I've done a bit more km then will get a custom tune. My car did 160rwkw which isn't too bad considering its so new, it'll be interesting to see what I get after an edit and a few thousand more km's on the car. Thanx for a great day Mario, and it was great meeting everyone. Loved the way various cars were personalised with custom XR grills, turbo badging on the sides etc, thanx everyone.

I haven't seen the new Motor mag out today yet but I hear they did a comparison with the mkii XR6T with the WRX WRP10. Does anyone know what it said ???

I've owned both, I'm on my second XR6T because it's suits my lifestyle. I wanted a car that has effortless power, is not a cop-magnet, has a 'big-car' cruisey attitude etc ... as for handling, if you like the GOR, Black Spur, Reefton Spur etc my Rex absolutely has it over my T. My experience with both (admittedly my Rex was modified) was that my Rex was in a different class in the wet, in the dirt, and thru the twisties compared to the T. All depends on what your priorites and needs are ...

Love the colour, I'm starting to see a few more Rapid's on the road now, it's definitley getting more popular The Black Spur is a near perfect road for the T especially after it's been re-sealed and is now beautifully smooth. The Reefton Spur is a real challenge though, nearly 200 corners in only 21km of road !! (I loved taking my old Rex on that piece of road, it was made for it !! The first and only time I took my T on it, I started having brake fade issues after only about 20-30 corners, it's the only time I wished I had optioned the premium brakes )

I'm still a little confused .... the XR6T makes max torque of 450nm from a low 2000rpm to 4250rpm. Ford make a big fuss that the T makes so much torque from down low, but wouldn't the T be better if max torque was produced at a higher rpm ???? Why is it such a good thing that the T makes the torque down low ???
