  1. absolutely you will gain even better results bolting the POD back on and enclosing it in a larger air box with a wicked cold air intake from either inside the front guard or the front of the front bumper
  2. cheers guys for the links and advice I probably should have done a search first. Well I still drive a Nissan S15 200sx and wouldn't have it any other way, but my best mate owns a BF MKII XR6T and its pretty stock. Im pretty sure he comes on here just never posts. I might advise him to go the CES dump pipe as that is their party piece, a metal cat and some other 4" cat back. but will post up when it gets done thanks again
  3. sell the NA and buy a turbo. it isn't as straight forward as bolting a great big turbo to the side of your motor and having big power fun.
  4. well the tu tu tu tu is compressor surge so I wouldn't want much of it at high revs and boost
  5. if it is indeed compressor surge. (Making the fluttering sound after taking your foot off the accelerator) the problem you have Flow from whatever bov you have. it is basically the sound of the compressed air bouncing back and forth between the turbo and now closed throttle body with no where to go. It is NOT the sound of the turbo blades 'cutting the air' which many people will tell you. Look the easiest way of solving this problem is strap on a big ass atmospheric BOV. Something like a Turbosmart Megasonic, Those bastards can flow over 800hp. and will make a incredible "PSCHHHHHHHH" sound on back off. But alas are illegal. You really need to stay legal a high flowing plum back BOV, Im sure the guys on here can recommend something. Personally I like the GFB Stealth FX, but am not sure it will flow enough air for your application. anyway it all depends on how loud the fluttering is, if it is not all that loud you wont be doing much damage to your turbo if any at all. if it is loud then maybe a new bov is needed
  6. Ok first post - I'm not going to try and bullsh*t anyone I know very little about Ford XR6s and wouldn't be on here unless my best mate just bought one. But what I do know a lot about is Japanese Turbo cars and the importance a well designed exhaust is for the success of any turbo application. My basic question is has anyone on here tried out the C.E.S Racing exhaust for the XR6 Turbo? http://www.cesracing.com.au/ http://www.cesracing.com.au/Products/ The reason I ask is there seems be a lot of controversy with the Xforce systems and other than APS you poor bastards have a limited amount of choice when it comes to bolt an exhausts (something JDM cars have multiple options with) for the XR6 Turbo. I would also like to note the Xforce exhaust in the JDM or Import community is also known as quite cheap and pretty below average as a total exhaust many people just use their CAT back systems with Japanese made front and dump pipe set ups. Anyway as a Owner of a Nissan 200sx S15 and a previous owner of a MY00 WRX and R32 GTR I know of the absolute awesome quality of exhaust C.E.S design. The 3" system offered for my current car the S15 200sx had a 45kw atw improvement after one of their dump pipes were fitted. Anyway I know they have a kit for the XR6 Turbo which they claim to have a 36kw improvement on a STOCK XR6 Turbo I just wanted to know if anyone has one or tried their system? I have seen Dyno sheets of their system which do appear to have such an improvement and after personal experience on my JDM cars is a brand I highly recommend. But just seeing if anyone off here has any actual real world experience with their system for the XR6 Turbo as I would like to recommend it to my friend. Or at least their twin dump pipe set up. Ps. sorry for the really long thread.
