Any suggestions for replacing the original Brembo front 6 pot/rear 4 pot pads and rotors with non Brembo items? Perhaps DBA 4000 or 5000 series rotors and EBC red stuff pads?

So dealer calls Friday, car ready to be picked up.....ok what about the cracked windscreen etc.....oh no sorry wasn't actually your car...ok so sure enough car looks fine, looking closely all over, no problem.......ok can I see the car with the cracked windsreen....oh sure.....down to holding yard....yes damaged cars, one cracked windscreen, one with dented a pillar where the little sh*ts through a brick over the fence...... this must really make you angry....it happens every school holidays says delaer matter of factly.....................#$@#!....have any Ford or Expensive Daewoo dealers ever visited a German dealership? they should and they should take notes. Anyway, car is awesome....very happy. Have to get used to the completey different throttle response compared to the BA....what happened to lag? Suspension is heaps better than BA..corners flatter but rides alot better.....wife even likes it! Brakes are alot more confidence inspiring.....they'd wanna be, they are the upgraded 6/4 pot ones! Negative...what's with the separte remote control for the satnav?....can you imagine this in a German car... Will post pics later......

So dealer rings yesterday, car will be ready to pick up tomorrow, great! Dealer rings this morning, car vandalised overnight in dealer holding yard, says just windsrcreen smashed so have to get a new one shipped from Melbourne. Guess I'II be buying a very powerful magnifying glass for when I eventually pick it up.....

Boiled it down to Silhouette or Steel and went with Steel Current car is Blueprint, similar to current Nitro Probably would have gone with Seduce, but they don't offer the F6 in that colour Dealer saying delivery end of August , so not too long if turns out true

Current drive is 2003 BA XR6T (manual) with only mod being after market chip. Just ordered FG FPV F6 (auto) , premium brakes, leather, satnav. Have never driven BF or FG, just going on faith (faith in FoMoCo!???!#@##@!???) Am hoping for a major :oh "my f*cking god" experience....... What are my chances?

Can anyone recommend a quality after market replacement for XR6T catalytic converter. High quality and less restrictive than stock.........

Getting fuel or torque cut out undere hard acceleratio. Take to Ford dealer.. "acctuator broken", need to replace turbo....$4600 please Any sugestions on workshop in Brisbane to take a look...maybe get "stage1" type mod while there....I'm sure they can do something other than relace whol turbo if only acctuator is "broken" In meantime I assume safe to drive if don't accelerate hard (make boost)..... any advice for the somewhat mehanically ignorant.....thanks

recently, never saw the thing, very loud bang passenger side, terrible thoughts as at that stage could have hit a person for all I knew, pull over , only damage passenger side mirror snapped clean off, hanging on by electonics cable only, some fur up along side the windscreen and 2 muddy kangaroo paw prints on boot - no sign of skippy, CSI can figure this one out but skippy must have got himself airborne....

Yes, same, is in workshop for 2 days now for water pump orings , more annoying is leaking cluth fluid that needs replacing /fixing. The housing for this is inside the gear box housing so is a major job (they reckon). Nice car - pitty not made in Germany or Japan.....

Blueprint, manual, 18"s, premium sound, tint Ordered early Jan 2003 Expected delivery, late April 2003 Arrived dealer, Friday March 28 (rings me out of the blue(print) late Friday arvo "your cars here" Pickup Tuesday April 1!! I've never even driven an XR6T Let the games begin....

I'm in Brisbane - mine arrives April (have to wait due to premium sound, 18" wheels). Spoke to a guy getting out of his new xr6t the other day. He just said I'd be rapt when I got it.

Ignoring colour as there are several colours that I think are good - If you had the choice of having an XR6T now without premium sound or have to wait to April to get with premium sound...what would you do? If I wait I also get the 18" wheels - I'm not so fussed about this as happy enough to save the $ and go with the 17" - but I think I'II regret not having the premium sound so will probably wait.. Ford must love the demand for the vehicle at the moment....

I assume vehicles with immobilisers can still be stolen somehow. Does the keypad thingo like in the new WRX (previously only std in STIs I think) make it harder - if so why not on XR6T -??

Richdave I don't have an understanding wife so I just figure I can have the fight now or leave it till the car arrives in 10-12 weeks (well that's what the dealer says , but yes it's a fleet purchase, novated lease, so who knows.....) Also I gotta spend all my money (and more) else she will....

I ended up going Blueprint, manual, premium sound, 18" wheels - the leather is beatiful but I had to draw the line somewhere$$$$$$ Anyway nows comes the hard bit - telling the wife about the new baby that's on the way....no I think I'II just wait till it's here....... thanks again, really appreciated

I can maybe stretch the budget on the xr6t I'm finalising the order on to leather seats OR 18" wheels but not both - what's the go? - I do like a firm ride - do the 18s make any noticable difference to the 17s?,..... thanks
