  1. So should it be pulled in more or has something fallen out? I'll get onto superpro and get a new set
  2. Was changeling the diff oil yesterday and noticed this gap in the drivers side bush for the diff ( correct me if its not the bush ). These photos are taken from on my back looking up at the diff. It's quite a significant gap, and looking across to the other side there's no gap at all, it's hard pressed into the hole. Is this normal? Or does it need fixing?
  3. Hmm, injectors, the missus did l fill up with e10 because " it's said it's e10 comparable on the fuel cap..and it was cheap at the time!" So she said, so maybe it's because of pinging? I'll fill up with 98 again once it's empty, see if it stops. The noise isn't that loud, you can only hear it when you pop the bonnet.
  4. Recently did a oil and filter change along with the turbo oil supply screen removeal and have noticed a very fast ticking noise, it almost sounds like a deisel If you get close enough. So could the noise be from the engine sucking air some where, maybe I didn't do a bolt up tight enough, but I was sure to loctite every thread and do things up tight. It does sound like its coming from inside something though. It is coming from around the area of the turbo oil filter. Here's a quick video. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj50/ash220985/A0D9C358-758D-4356-8E3E-7E5CB6777A0A-1448-000002C89E612079.mp4
  5. Awsome thanks for the clarification, as for the red cable, it's more then likely the starter cable as suggested as I don't have any gauges in my car at all, no boost gauges or oil pressure gauges, the car is stock with no optional extras. I also tightened the hose clamps as they were a tad loose, just something to keep an eye on I suppose, just glad it was nothing major. And there aren't any rub marks on any of the 'loose hoses' so ill just let them be lol. Thanks again guys.
  6. Just doing a service on my car and I noticed these hoses are sort of loose and flopping around, is it normal? Or should the be cable tied to something? Also I noticed another hose had hard white stuff around it and looked like it had been leaking as its dripped on what ever is below it, hear are some pics. The two hoses loose, there's a red one and a black one, what are they for? Closer look. And the hose that's leaking stuff, what's it from? Leaking onto another hose and the alternator I think. I've owned the car since 45k km and its now done 55k km, could the previous owner dodged something up here? That bit of hose with the hose clamps around it don't look factory standard. Cheers for any clarification.
  7. So Edge 10w60 with a 30min warm up before giving it a squirt, or Edge 0w40 with oil cooler if your thrashing it for a long duration, what if you only boost off the line at a set of lights once in a blue moon, would Edge 0w40 be fine to use? And for everyday driving? Also, I ended up buying Transmax Z for the t56, I had to buy 2x4Lts bottle at $75 each as they didn't have any 1Lt or 2Lt bottle at any of the local ripco or superheap, so my question is, what sort of shelf life does an open bottle of this stuff last for, I do around 10k km a year in the car so I probably won't need to change it for 2 or so years.
  8. Awesome thanks for the replies, I was going to do the engine oil, manual trans oil, and diff oil all at once, and was going to keep to the one brand of oil like Castrol, I did think of Penrite and Nulon too but I don't know how people rate it, there websites do recommend a heap of oils too.
  9. Hey, I have a bf2 turbro and am looking to do a service, I looked on the Castrol website and they recommend Castrol Edge 0w40, and Castrol Magnatec 10w40, I also noticed I need 6.6Lt of oil, just wondering if it would be ok to mix 5Lts Castrol Edge 0w40 fully synthetic with 1.6Lts of Castrol Magnatec semi synthetic? I like the idea of the Magnatecs added protection on start up, but I'm unsure on mixing full syn with semi syn also the different thinkness.
  10. Happy Birthday xrBlitz!

  11. So do you put wd40 in both ends we're the rubber hoses come off or just the end that has the electrical plug below it? Would it hurt to put it in both ends?
  12. ^^ some thing I would like to know about as well, were abouts exactly would the cracks be? I might take the heat shields off and have a look around
  13. I thought I would post up a couple of pictures to show you what bolt was missing It's now been replaced with a high tennsile bolt, only 50c 
  14. lol, you must of been writing the same time as I was.
  15. Problem Solved turns out a bolt was missing on the turbo shroud, I think, ill take a picture and post it up tomorrow, so I just replaced it with an 8mm x 20mm gal bolt with a flat and spring washer, did it up reasonably tight (not too tight) and started her up and bingo, no noise. I believe there was exhaust gases escaping out of were the bolt holds the housing together creating a small backfire..maybe lol. Anyways im smiling again and can sleep easy tonight. Thanks for all the input to guys.
  16. It does seem to get faster and louter as I accelerate, and when I hit boost it sounds horrible, like electricity acring really fast, or stick or mig welding. Would I be doing damage? I just don't want it to be a problem with the turbo.
  17. The car is completely stock, only thing done to it is tinted windows. If it is a turbo/manifold leak, what do you mean by probably need doing anyway? Gasket? Or the bolts need tightening? Is there a way to check if it's the clutch? And is there a gearbox level indicator? Cheers.
  18. Oh, and it's only done 45,000 km and the ticking noise is a very fast ticking.
  19. Well hopefully it's nothing more then that, although the noise is constantly there, from first start of the engine in the morning, to 30 mins drive later, how long would it take for the bearing to heat up? Another thing to add is it's the 6 speed manual and the noise sounds like it's coming from around the foot pedal/center consol area, and when I wined the window down I can also hear it, it definantly come from the front of the car.
  20. Hey Guys, first time poster, long time reader, just thought I would say hi, I just wish it was on a better note. I just got a BF II xr6t for Chrissy very happy with the car, cant wipe the smile off my face, but today, after my usual drive home from work this ticking noise just appeared out of no where. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary, in fact Ive been taking really easy until I get use to the power, I'm not to sure if this had anything to do with it but the low fuel beep happened, then I think the ticking started, then the fuel light came on. Ive since filled up with fuel and the ticking is still there. On start up its there a little bit, but only really hear it when I'm accelerating, either lightly of heavily, and even reversing the the ticking is there, and it doesn't go away, engine hot or cold. Its like the vibration from the engine is causing the ticking noise, like something is lose. It sort of sounds like....I don't know, its hard to explain, think of a cross between a stick stuck in a fan and noise an electric shaver/clippers make when cutting your hair. Ive been reading that it might be a lose bolt from the heat shield, turbo manifold, or exhaust manifold, so when I get the chance, and the engine is cool enough ill check them out. But apart from that, if anyone else has any ideas, please let me know. Ill keep you posted on any up dates. Cheers, Ash. Thanks
