  3. Thanks,I will get the plugs you suggest as I am confident that the idle problem is caused by the plugs. I have reflashed the factory map and the same problem with power loss is there. This suggests to me that the edit is fine and the problem is elsewhere.Still scratching my head. Peter
  4. I have done a search on intermittent power loss and an increase in fuel consumption and can't find anything that relates directly to my situation,so any advice would be appreciated. I recently bought the edit with generic tunes and found the car to be running very consistently with both the 8psi & 10psi maps.At the time of purchase it was run on the dyno to make sure all was fine and the results were safe. After a week of driving my fuel economy actually improved from an average of 15.5 l/100km to high 14's even with some spirited driving. One day I noticed that the car started behaving weird, in that one minute it would go hard and then the next it would loose considerable power.I also noticed that within a few days the fuel usage has gone up to 17.5 l/100km and still rising. I have checked all the hoses for loose clamps and even decided to fit the new intercooler which I had sitting in the garage waiting to be added with some other mods, which I intended to do all at once.this eliminated the loose clamp scenario. My spark plugs were regapped at time of edit which I noticed caused the car to pop on idle.Should I check the plugs again? Any advice as to what could be causing this and what other things I could do to try and track down the problem would be great. Thanks
  5. No offence X-Wing but if you had read the original post you would have noticed that he was having some issues with surge and bad idle.So I guess that your theory does not apply here.Good to hear you are one of the rare ones that has had no problems.
  6. Check out the Rocket Industries site.It looks like they have some valve springs on there.
  7. Get it done.It sounds like it can't get any worse than what you have now.I had my car flashed and it never missed a beat since,in fact it runs much more consistently in all aspects, idle, surge etc.
  8. Well said ZAPXR6T.I have taken this approach myself and funny enough the next time I had a problem it was fixed in no time. It's not that they can't fix it,they just don't care about warranty work cause it's not easy money like a service is.Don't give up Brad, persitance beats resistance. Peter
  9. I have always liked the way the Germans design their rims, they look hot Saleen. Deep dish does it for me so I ordered these from Germany when I had my old Skyline.
  10. Thanks for the feedback, but it's the outcome that was excpected. I personally am not giving up on the issue and my next point of call is to get some legal advice.Probably a waste of time, but I will not give up without a fight. Peter
  11. Please keep us posted as I have also gone down the same path with the rattling noise from the gearbox. So far I have hit a brick wall with the issue even after providing 2 independent opinions saying that the noise is definately gearbox related,Ford still won't budge.I am keen to see what the outcome is Trough Lolly. Wtf?

I had a similar issue when my car just wouldn't start and when it finally did it was shaking from side to side.I called my dealer and was told to turn the ignition on and off 3 times then start it.Believe it or not it worked and has never happened since.Give it a go and good luck. Peter
  13. I too have had the dreaded squeal.I persisted with complaining to the point where they replaced the rotors but still the squeal, until my dealer advised me of a second revised pad which finally did the job.Not a hint of squeal for 4000kms now. You pay good money for what is meant to be a superior product in the case of the Turbo model so you must not tollerate their rubbish and lies.I was fed comments like that's how performance brakes behave etc.Has anyone heard a porshce with squealing brakes,I haven't.Good luck Countryphoon. Peter
  14. Yeah,I can't open it.
  15. You must be either getting a lot of wheelspin or not launching at the correct rpm. Just to give you a comparison to my stock manual,I had consistent 2.1 to 2.2 60ft times running 14.3 at 98mph.Theoretically in an auto with 107mph terminal speed you would excpect at least a low 13. Better luck next time ROTARICK. Peter
  16. I got the same message on completion of download. Peter
  17. Looks great. Can you give some details? I am very interested in buying a similar set up. Peter
  18. As ZAP has suggested, get a comp test done followed by a leak down test. This will clarify whether or not you have an engine problem. Peter
  19. Yeah, and the 5th one is no better than the 1st.Save yourself the trouble and just put up with it.A close friend of mine works for Spicers who make the diffs and he sais it ain't going to be fixed for some time.

    Can Cracker

I had one of them but the wheels fell off.
  21. I would never buy another FORD till the day I die.I don't want to bore everyone with my situation cause it's all been heard before.I worked bloody hard to hand over 57.5k of my money to only find myself visiting the dealer 15 times in 12 months. The excuses come from all directions before they even look at the car to find out what the problem is.I don't take too kindly to being treated as a lier by both Ford and the dealerships. The whole purpose of buying a brand new car is to avoid spending my time in a workshop with problems. Your chances of getting a good example is not worth risking your hard earned money.DON'T DO IT. Peter
  22. I have noticed through my experiences with trying all the fuels on the market that the Vortex works the best for me. Peter
  23. Howdy loaded, Just curious did you mount the turbosmart left to right (across the car) to front-back, pointing to the firewall? Because of the design of the Bosch it's possible to accidently mount a replacement backwards, ie not relieving any pressure build up which would more then likely result in a power loss. Adam <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gday Adam, I think you have misunderstood what type of set up the turbosmart kit is,or I haven't explained myself properly. It comes as a replacement inlet pipe which enables the user to fit whatever BOV they choose. It does not fit into the factory bov location. The factory bov is removed and the plugs fitted to the existing hoses.I don't have an actual picture but it is similar to this attachment.except that the standard rubber hose is replaced with steel. Peter bov_install.bmp
  24. I purchased the turbosmart xr6t kit which comes with a replacement pipe and all the silicon hose etc, and I can tell you that I have sent it back to be looked at because I lost a considerable amount of power.I didn't excpect a gain however I also didn't excpect a loss in power.I am still awaiting a response from turbosmart.
  25. How can they charge $200 for a tune if its not custom tuned. It's one or the other. I was quoted $250 for a custom tune if I wanted or $50 to run it up and check the A/F ratios. Peter
