Saw this on the news. all V8 VE model Commodore's recalled because of a leaking seal somewhere near the fuel injectors. The newsreader said that it could possibly leak fuel onto the exhaust...............but there was absolutely no chance of it igniting

I have read some posts regarding diff clunks may actually be the CV joints. So does anyone know (ball park fugure) how much they would cost to replace......not upgrade? Is it woth asking Ford to replace under warranty? Am I just waisting my time altogether? Thanks

I change the oil in between services and use full synthetic and the same brand always. I get Ford to deduct the cost of oil from the service and get them to use mine. So basically the oil gets changed every 7500km.

The recomended retail of the new standard SS is almost $2000 cheaper than an XR6T and almost $7000 cheaper than XR8. Is this a bad thing? I reckon the BA/BF is still a sexier car.

What a load of crap. Neither Ford themselves or the dealers can drive prices. Its all about the market, trade ins are trade ins, dealers have some cars on the lot for 3 - 6 months, they have to pay interest to have those cars, detail them, get them roadworthy they drop their pants to sell them. I think the biggest problem with Australians is the fact that a large number of us are changing cars over way too early and that if people actually went back to keeping cars for 5 years the market would not be so flooded. You also have lease / fleet companies to blame, the bastards buy the cars 20 - 30 % cheaper then the rest of us then use them as a tax write off, sell em in 18 months - 2 years and dont lose out. ← you the hit the nail on the head with that comment XRbloke. good work

I'm not married and have no kids (and don't plan to in the next few years)so a 2 door car would be ok. I have heard they are hard to sell. I mean a 1998 car selling for mid 30k's is a lot of money.

Hey team, I friend at work has a friend who owns a 1998 Supra, 6 speed, Twin Turbo, 20,000km, unmodified. He loves my car (2004 stock standard T) and wants to do a straight swap. I have been in his car, it's immaculate and goes a lot quicker than mine (or maybe it just feels like it cos it's so low to the ground). What are people's thoughts? Does anyone know much about Supra's? I know it will be more expensive to maintain, repair and insurance.

I did the same thing. Ford where going to sell them for $995 each. I got them both covered on insurance. Cost me $250 excess and my premium did not increase.

I thought some chaps might find this intersting. Firstly, if anyone belonging to any police or law enforcement agency reads this thread please don't assume this is directed at YOU or your ageny!, this story is directed at a few individuals only. Thursday 28 September 2004, at about 11pm I noticed 2 Police vehicles scream into my Street then Park right outside my house. 8 Policeman jumped out then ran up and down the Street. This was going on for about 30 minutes. I though it must have been some sort of Raid.........how wrong was I! I became very curious, so I moved my car out of the garage and pretended I was going for a drive, as I was comming off the driveway and onto the Road, one of the Police Officers (the biggest one) stopped me and ordered me out of the vehicle, then the rest of the officers came running over.......but none of them came onto my property or even touched me. The officer called me by my first name and said I was in a lot of trouble.............WHAT THE F**!!, the police where there for me! The officer then said that he knew my name, my car, where my parents and friends lived...............all about me, he also said that becuase of what I have done my Army Reserve Career will be finished also. WHAT THE F***!! I could not for the life of me know what he was talking about. The Ofiicer then proceeded to say that if I don't stop text messaging his girlfriend then he would make life very difficult for me!!!! Turns out that his new girlfriend was my ex girlfriend that we still kept in touch. This guy was in his mid 40's, my ex was 23 (pictue home girl of the year 2003, look her up). This Officer was really pissed off and I felt that him and his mates where going to jump me, I was by myself, I was absolutely sh***ng myslef. For the next 15 minutes he rattled off all this information about me and family and continued to threaten me, then at the end he said that it was all off the record and his visist was only a friendly warning! The Officer and all his mates finally left, I was left there dumbfounded. Not sure what to do, I drove to the main 24 hour Police Station in Adelaide and spoke to a Senior Sergeant, his response that I should not have been text messaging this Cops girfriend. This is crap..... Next day I called my friend who works in CIB in Adelaide, he made me come into the station and submit a statement. 1 Year later I receive this letter from the Police Commissioner of SA, he apologizes on behalf of the SA Police and said that this matter was fully investigated and found the Officer to be gulity. The Officer has been demoted to constable with no chance of a promotion in the future, also a $2500 fine, all the other officers that he dragged along all got various amounts of fines. So hope you enjoy this luchtime read. I just receievd the letter from Police Commisioner today so I pretty excited about it. Sucked in Mr Senior Constable *****, woops I mean Constable
