  6. yea the 1st time it was after about 4-5 hard squirds(dam mates wanting to go for a spin after the tune) but today I was on my way to work was half asleep so no squirt there lol, it was a cold morning and the car was still coldish maybe to much fuel set it off? appreciate all your feedback guys
  7. if his plan is to go forced induction he would want to lower the compression when building it, if this is the case it would be pritty lazy till he fits forced induction, ud still kick his arse in untill he fits em haha
  8. yea that's what im hopeing it is, I think the bf runs 2 o2 sensers over the ba with 1, maybe that makes it more sensitive?
  9. yes you are right but the bf eventually goes twin before the flange, the ba/bf cat backs are exactly the same I brought a redback twin 2.5 off a fellow member for my bf it was fitted to a ba ute, so the fitting onto the n/a will still be the same
  10. hay guys the engine light has come on on my bf xr6t its staying on, in the manual it says its not in factory emmisions or something along those lines, the car has a gutted cat the 1st night getting it back from my tune it came on so they did something to my flash box and it went away, now its back on today 2 weeks later, going to take it in monday to get it check but im just a bit worried, car drives fine nothing differant is happning so I cant see it being major?? any advice would be good
  11. this ones for the zf techs, I want to check my oils colour/smell basically its overall condition, how can I do this? had a look today only fill type plug I could see was a large allen key bolt on the drivers side just above the pan, but wasnt sure. also what gear do you check it in N,P,R etc hot or cold any info muchly appreciated
  12. at my local ford the genuine zf oil was $60ltr I rang basically every trans shop near by they charge 45-55 per litre but as qik1 said theres quit a mark up a 20ltr drum is about 550-600 you do the maths, you can use non genuine but it will void your warrentie, oh and a service is about 4.5-5ltrs and the trans dry is about 9ltrs. I cant see why they used 8ltrs(I doubt they actually did) as others have said id be takeing it to a decent mechanic/tuner that's more interested in looking after your car than looking after there profit margin

  17. at a quess id say they got it to that number but could feel the cat/system holding it back, so then backed it off a bit so everything was not at its limits
  18. thanks for that shock, id be lucky to do 15k a year so I think the pressure drop is the best option hay nang you wouldnt happen to have a pic of your car with them on? im a bit worried if I went fatter on the rear it would get a baloon look as the rims might be to skinny
  19. thanks guys well it has 245/40/18 toyo proxe 4's on it now which are quit dear and suppost to be real good, I just checked the pressure and there @ 38psi would it be worth lowering the rear pressure to aid traction? if so to what? cheers

  22. as I said before wasnt trying to start a depate, just simple forwarding info from 3 differant transmission shops, and knowing of a fellow member from adelaide having problems with non genuine oil then being fine when swaped with the genuine oil
