  1. Happy Birthday NAT88S!

  2. Haven't checked this for awhile, but just had a service from Klosters in Newcastle. I told them about the problem and they said the throttle body probably needs cleaning. They did it for $159 and I haven't had a problem starting since! The car also feels alot smoother under acceleration. The exact description of what they did was: "Carried out induction and combustion system service cleaning air intake system, inlet valves, EGR valve and combustion chamber from excessive carbon deposits..."
  3. Hopefully someone might be able to help me because ELN Ford at Tuggerah can't, but happy to charge me to tell me that! Been having issues with the XR6 BFII N/A not wanting to start. It will start probably 6 out of 10 times ok. But, the other 4 times I need to give it a few spurts of the throttle so it doesn't die. Sometimes even that doesnt help. After I turn the key it tries to start, then nothing. If I keep the key turned it will try to fire again prob 2 secs after it fails and chokes into action. It mostly gets going on the second attempt but it has taken 3 goes before. Like I said, ELN Ford at Tuggerah "couldn't fault at time of testing". The service I just had performed by them hasn't helped either as it failed to start first attempt the next morning after picking it up. According to the tax invoice they also charged me for new wiper blades and soap for the washer fluid, but there's no soap in the washer fluid and the wiper blades still scrape across the wind shield! They also charged me for oil, beginning to wonder if they even changed that! Is anyone able to diagnose this problem? Or know what parts might be playing up? Cheers
  4. I like them been eyeing off a set for a while. Just not sure if they would look too pink when the brakes are on. I also prefer the light pattern the BF lights make. These ones look like they have reflector similar to a BA set in them. Recon you could take a photo with them on? Do they look pink?
  5. Cheers mate, yeah they are Kings SL Fronts and SSL Rear. Parts were: KFFL-57SL KFRL-68SSL Haven't rubbed or scrapped once. Yeah I wasn't keen on paying $500 labour for it so I asked Ultra Tune for a service and then said "Oh Ive also got some springs and shocks to go in, how much extra for that?" Good luck with it, im very happy
  6. Some pics as promised
  7. Bilsteins and Kings from Senna T is the sh*t. Delivered price was $1,260 and Ultra Tune installed for $270 plus a $59 wheel alignment. Was money well spent.
  8. Got everything fitted last week..and man the handling! Ok, I replaced the stock rims and Dunlops with the 20"s on Nankang NS2's. Instant feeling was omg these Nankangs are rubbish I really should have got some half decent rubber cause I felt like I was sliding all over the place and did not have any confidence when cornering at all! I got the Nankangs for $260ea, the next cheapest quote I got for 245/30R20's was $600ea for Yokahama Advan Sport V103's, minus all the other no name brands I've never heard of, so the Nankangs was the only choice for budget reasons. I drove like that for a week then gave the car to Ultra Tune who fitted the springs and shocks and serviced it too. Instant reaction was WOW, it was a new car handling wise. I feels like every tyre is being pushed down to the ground so much harder than before, there is no skipping over bumps and there is very little body roll compared to before. I dont notice any over or under steer and I just feel so much more confident driving the car through corners and roundabouts. Im still getting used to how much more grip it has and keep giving it more and more in the corners, just to see how far it can go, its great! My handling went from average, to awful to awesome. Overall Im very happy with the Bilsteins and will probably fit them to every car I get in the future. I have to say though, the car is not as low as I was hoping for or expected. It's probably about an inch lower and isn't really noticeable from the front or the rear. However, from the side it definately looks neat with the wheels. I guess the good thing is, I don't have any rubbing with all seats occupied and haven't scrapped anything yet. Just washed it then so Ill take some pics tomorrow and throw them up. I'de just like to thank Senna T who supplied the Bilsteins and Kings, I got a shock when they turned up at work I wasn't expecting to receive them so fast!
  9. Bit of an update...took delivery of some Bilsteins and King springs from Senna T last week. Received them 2 days after payment, surprised me when they turned up at work I wasn't expecting them so quick! Ended up going for 20" Bboss Eleanor's. Car will be lowered next week but in the meen time here it is at stock height Will report back with pics after the Bilsteins are in
  10. Im also interested if anyone knows how to do this, but around the other way lol. I prefer the night style darker light on the colour screen and I'de like the screen to stay dark with the headlights off. No troubles reading it during the day and I think it looks better. Most of the time it's just saying "AUX" anyway due to iPod usage.
  11. The car has 54k on it, but I thought if I got lowered springs I would need shocks too, as in the stock shocks are too big or wont last or something? Wow those bilstein prices are looking much nicer, yeah I might message senna and see what he can do, and yeah I'd be in on a group buy. Can anybody recommend any suspension shops around the Central Coast / Newcastle area for fittment?
  12. Yeah I've only heard good things about the Bilsteins. TURBO4LT, how much did they set you back if you dont mind me asking?
  13. Hey guys, I've picked out some 19's for my MKII XR6 and figured I'd have to lower it too. So I went to a place in Tuggerah NSW and they quoted: Bilstein Shocks and King Springs fitted = $1,610 Monroe Shocks and King Springs fitted = $1,005 Buy it Now eBay pricing from Online Performance Autos is as follows: Monroe GT Sport Shocks delivered = $472 King Springs delivered = $289 Total Monroe and Kings on eBay = $761 What does everyone think about the fitted quote from the shop? Do they have much room to move, is installation a time consuming job? I'de love the Bilsteins but are they worth the $600 premium? What do you recon I could get them down to? Any opinions or advice would be much appreciated Cheers
  14. Haha yeah I know, I so wanted the turbo but just couldn't justify the extra expense. I picked this one up for 20,500 so would have been a fair jump in price for an equilavent turbo. And it had to be in Toxic which made it even harder to find. Last car was a Vectra so the N/A feels prety quick, can only imagine what the turbo must feel like. So it sounds like the only diff between a BF I and II is the badge on the back then lol, unless it was built after June 07. Yeah rims are deff high on the list. Im liking the BBoss Eleanor's, prob go the 19"s. Or the BF Typhoon rims. Been thinking about exhaust too, dont want to spend a whole lot just for a few extra Kw's but. Preference is sound before power, all bark and not as much bite.
  15. Hey Boys, Im new in town, just took delivery of a Toxic 06 BFII XR6 N/A and I feel like an 10 year old on christmas day. Came with a fair bit of kit at a good price which makes it even better. Just have a couple of questions for some of you more enlightened folk. Maybe Im not searching hard enough, but I haven't been able to find out what the BFII XR6's have that the BFI's dont. Also, the car is less than 3 years old and has 39km's on the clock, however the log book is missing it's 15,000km service stamp. It does have it's 3,000 and 30,000 though. Anyone know if I might run into any troubles should it require repairs under warranty? The following pics are the result of a full bottle of polish and a full can of elbow grease. I think it was worth it. It's fully stock mate, but hopefully not for long
