  5. Hi I have a quick question I cant find the answer for, does the BF XR6 Turbo 2 bar map sensor use the same plug as the NA BF XR6 map sensor. I have just fitted a turbo to my NA BF XR6 and is currently running with a rising rate fuel reg and everything else still stock, but it will be going in for a full dyno tune shortly & just before that I plan to fit new injectors and a 2bar map sensor, now I have read and know about changeing the wires around but cannot find any info on if the plugs are the same and as it wont go once this is done untill flashed I wont to make sure I dont get caught out with the plug not fitting. P.S here is a couple of pics of my turbo fittment

  7. Thanks all for the info I have just done my sons BA XR6 from the cat back and has come out rather good ,nice sound and a slight improve in the bottom end to mid range, have now just got a complete turbo system which I will put on my BF XR6 shortly will let you know how it goes should be able to cut the engine pipe and joint before the cat,
  8. Well I now have most of the answers to my problems and are just waiting for some contacts in the USA to get the turbo specs require based on my engine specs,I find this sort of thing very interesting and different and not much different to 23 years ago when I was fitting turbos and playing with them and most people though they were more trouble than there worth and look at them now go figure. As far as cost gos with some stuff from USA and the rest put together myself total cost $1500.00 that's with bit of a buffer and I havent seen a all new standard turbo kit for that.
  9. The knockers should do a bit of looking around there are some very quick vehicles about both in AUS and the USA the trick is finding the correct info to work out turbo to use etc not just a case of bolting what ever together and see what happens.
  10. if looks to good to be true then its a fair bet it is
  11. Yea the Yanks have shown with the correct turbo selection lag is no different than a normal set up,the turbo runs much cooler, air to intake much cooler without an intercooler, engine bay stays cooler there are some about in Aust but most are on drag cars there was a BA XR6 done in Perth a few years back but I have not been able to find the owner of it as yet,I will be a bit fussy with the air filter set up compared to most who seem to just stick a pod on the end of the turbo and fully open to the elements,as my car is used every day as a family car it has to be a bit better thought out and for that reason I will be sticking with 1 turbo and only running about 6 to 8psi boost max.
  12. I know some people will say why,but I am thinking of doing a rear mount turbo set up to my BF XR6 and would like to hear from any body that has done it or knows some one that has,the biggest part I am trying to get a better idea of is the supply and return of oil so not to have a problem blowing seals,I have fitted many Turbos over the years but I like the idea of the rear mount and its a bit different to the norm so any info would be great.
  13. Thanks for that,I will work on it now I know.
  14. I had read around about fitting a XR6T exhaust from the cat back on a XR6 NA but cant find any thing about its fitment is it bolt straight on or are there some other mods any help would be good I have a BF Mkll XR6 SEDAN AUTO.
  15. Well all I can say is we must walk in different circles and know different people as no one I know or have spoken to in the last few days that hire cars on a regular basis drive them any different than they drive there own as they are more interested in getting to were they wont to go in one piece and on time and I have asked quite a few. Also most have said they have found there hire cars in very good condition and a pleasure to drive. As far as owning a hire car I have hired, I can say yes there has been more than a few I would mind owning the Audi RS4 or the BMW 328ci were both very nice also the Mustang and Corvette were quite nice to drive closer to home the Fairlane and Caprices I have had have been A1 as well. So we will have to agree to disagree and hope that the hire car people dont go broke due to the high cost of repairs to there vehicles or else it will make travel very hard indeed.
