Hey mate, No they reckon they reset it all and it was fine once reset, unfortunately I wasn't there to pick the car up that day because I had work commitments and the mrs picked it up and no I don't drive it flat out all the time, Ive been driving like a grandpa for the last few weeks and haven't managed to get it below 16liters/100..

Car is booked in at the dealer again for next week.. What are my chances of them finding and fixing the problem?

Guys, I haven't touched the blow off, I bought the car at 15,000kms and the original owner had a turbosmart BOV on there which was changed back to the factory one when I bought the car.. what can I do about this to fix it?

Thanks mate. Guys would it be worth changing my oxygen sensor? When I changed the oxygen sensor in my vy ss to a bosch one fuel consumption improved dramatically.. Does anyone have a part number for the bosch oxygen sensor ?

Got it down to 16 then reset it and still 16 is the best I can get it to

No mods at all, driving style is normal. Give it a bit here and there but mostly just cruise it. I cannot get it below 16litres no matter how I drive so there must be something wrong ! I'm new to the turbo world so wtf could this be with the wastegate. If it were the o2 sensor then it would've showed up when they checked it? Is it worth just changing my o2 sensor and seeing if it will improve. I'm stumped over this.

tab what would you do if you were in my shoes?

Thanks guys! Picked up the ute from Ford about an hour ago, got this. ATTENDED TO ENGINE WARNING LIGHT COMING ON DASH ATTEND TO ENGINE WARNING LIGHT COMING ON. SELF TESTED IDS TO FIND CODE FOR WASTEGATE FAILURE. CHECKED AND FOUND BLOW OFF VALVE MODIFIED AND REAR TYRES SCRUBBED. (LOL) CLEARED CODES AND RETESTED AND FOUND ALL OK AT TIME OF TEST. OWNER NOTIFIED US OF HIGH FUEL CONSUMPTION - HOW IS THE VEHICLE BEING DRIVEN? THIS WILL AFFECT FUEL CONSUMPTION (LOL AGAIN). NO FAULTS AT TIME OF TEST.

Thanks for that mate, do you think that there could be something wrong and that's why the fuel usage is so high? Is there any sort of problem where there is an engine light on and high fuel consumption readings? Cheers

Hey guys, Have been averaging a high fuel usage of 18/20L per 100kms is this normal in an FG XR6T ute? Even when driving normal the best I can get it down to is around 16 litres. Also, the engine light came on today while the tank was nearing empty, and then the engine light went away when I filled her up.. I'm booked in tomorrow at the Ford dealer where the car was purchased for them to diagnose the problem.. Can anyone help me out here, what could the problem be and what are my chances of the Ford dealer finding it and fixing it? Cheers

Hey again guys, Looking at getting an exhaust and tune for my 09 FG XR6 Turbo manual ute.. Coming over from the dark side (VY SS) I dont know too much about where to go and what the best brand is etc... With my VY SS, I wanted nothing but the best and for the LS1's Di fillipo hands down make the best system.. I have heard that XForce do the best exhaust for the xr6 turbos.. Which X force exhaust is the best for the xr6 turbo? Looking to get around 300rwkws from the ute and I'm in Melbourne's north so what are my tuning options? What $$$ would have to be spent to achieve around the 300rwkw mark? Cheers again fellas

Hey guys, A mate of mine has an FG XR8 bonnet that he is going to put on his FG NA XR6 (When he gets it) and I was just curious to know how hard it is to fit? Would it have to be done by a panel beater or can it be done at home and if so can I have some instructions on how to do it ? I'm sort of toying with the idea of getting one for my xr6t ute and Id love to see if it looks the goods! My mate has said that I can "try it on" haha.. Cheers

LOL true.. What are the manual T FG's like down the quarter in stock form?

LOL nah am going manual mate, am sick of autos my last two cars were red(Holden) and autos and both popped... Dont care how good the ZF is lol I Do not want an auto again. lol is it possible that there wont be a clunk or is this the norm? Cheers mate

Thanks mate yeh still got 2 and a half years warranty... He reckons its the 2010 Tailshaft so it doesn't have the tailshaft issue that the 08 09 models had.. The car will be RACV inspected if everything is OK tommorow... Cheers

I am crossing over from the dark side Just a quick question, I am going to have a look at a 2009 FG XR6 Turbo M6 ute tomorrow and the owner has informed me that the car was fitted with the 2010 Tailshaft under warranty as the original one was faulty... Anything to be worried about?? Also, I have never driven one so any tips on what to look out for? The car has done 20,000 kms.. Cheers
