  1. There's a lot of pricing overlap between the higher trim Mondeos and Falcons. Mondeo XR5T costs just 5 grand less than the XR6T.
  2. Do either of these fit the Falcon ? 6 New NGK IRIDIUM IX Spark Plugs BKR7EIX-11 # 6988:eBay Motors (item 300368042829 end time Dec-16-09 20:55:30 PST) 6 NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs ZFR6FIX-11 # 6441:eBay Motors (item 290366561157 end time Dec-03-09 21:34:16 PST)
  3. Yeah Lexus IS350 (Toyota Alteza) is another great RWD sporty car. I'm a bit iffy about spending my first 50K (after finishing uni) on an XR6T. Best sporty cruiser under 50K -> assuming nothing goes wrong.
  4. The problem lies in the diff mount, looks like Fraud either haven't been arsed to fix it OR were too cheap to install better quality diff setups. From Australian Ford Forums:
  5. The only good dealer I've heard of in Sydney is Peter Warren Smithfield (from members of this forum but not from personal experience). I went to City Ford and asked them to get my shaky idle fixed with my service, it wasn't fixed, instead they increased my idling speed and now my car uses more fuel.
  6. I'd be a great drag strip car with that kind of power to weight ratio. But not so good on the track, being so front heavy.
  7. I agree guys, never been a fan of Ford's customer service. I had to wait 90 minutes for them to give me a bottle of retouch paint. Ford should be glad that Japanese makers don't do affordable, powerful, rear wheel drive cars in Australia.
  8. According to Redbook, that car is worth 39K-43K (new = 65K).
  9. At the end of the day, public perception and 'image' are what sell cars. Ford has a better product than Holden. But sh*tty service from many Franchise Ford Dealers and Ford's lack of ability to make their cars seem 'cool' has worked against them. Ford could probably start by using different body kits for fleet Falcons and private Falcons.
  10. I think Ford will try to get it P plater exempt, it's a family car after all and is slower than N/A 6's. The smart car runs on a 1L turbo - that's exempt.
  11. JC, I've heard that Peter Warren at Smithfield is well equipped and tends to do good jobs on their servicing. Then again, I've also heard that City Ford is good, but they didn't manage fix my vehicle's slightly shaky idling problem.
  12. RSK - if you want 0 road fatalities, ban road transport all together and we can go back to the middle ages. If you want a safe but FUNCTIONAL road, allow some freedom for people to drive comfortably. SMSing whilst driving is plain stupid but GPS phones are more than reasonable.
  13. One of my work mtes has a modded V8 Commie and he actually watches over the entire servicing of the car. If they refuse, he pulls the car off them. Waiting 3 hrs is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
  14. Maybe she wanted to get back at her bf for something ? Girls can be subtle or just a plain mystery.
  15. I think certain bureaucrats should be fired if >100,000 signatures can be raised against them. They're meant to serve the people, and if they make up a ridiculous rule like no using a mobile phone as a GPS in a cradle (which is practically no different to using a conventional GPS), then it shows they have a complete lack of intelligence. This is what we get when a smooth talker with an arts degree, but no real intelligence gets an important government job.
  16. An XR6 with a paint tattoo ?
  17. Bike on Ute on Truck.
  18. http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleDetail.aspx?ArticleID=65723&vf=12 I'm all for fuel efficiency gains of this new engine, but I can't help but think this new car will be a slug, it'll probably only be as fast as the old V6 Camry.
  19. One more reason for me to never convert my internet connection to wireless. Never like wireless modems - slower than wire, disconnections, wireless hackers and a hard-arse firewall.
  20. The eyes see a bargain, but the nose smells bullsh*t. Scam ?

Looks like that large black piece at the front was partly ripped off the FG F6, haha. And personally, I never really liked the F6 eye patches either - but man does that thing go.

    Hackers!

I agree gregor, I believe in tangible effect. Internet censorship doesn't have any tangible benefits to community. Will it decrease crime rates or make our citizen better ? Doubt it. For example - you can't stop minors looking at porn, it's better to teach them moral values than trying invain to stop them. We have hospitals, schools and roads in desperate need of funding and all the federal govt can do is piss away money on a useless filter.

  24. Link: http://www.caradvice.com.au/30255/ford-falcon-xr8-vs-holden-commodore-ss-the-final-verdict/ * Ford Falcon XR8 o 9.82-litres/100km. o 235.0kW – at the wheels. 288.8kW – at the flywheel. o 6.54-seconds 0-100km/h. o 14.72-seconds @ 163.89km/h. o 39.75m 100-0km/h. * Expensive Daewoo Late model camira SS (AFM) o 9.79-litres/100km. o 204.5kW – at the wheels. 252.4kW – at the flywheel. o 6.74-seconds 0-100km/h. o 14.80-seconds @ 161.38km/h. o 38.79m 100-0km/h. What really interested me was that both cars have ~19% drivetrain loss, it could be a guide for converting between FlyWheel_KW and RWKW. Seems a bit slow for our V8s, looks like we may have taken a hit from those bastard Greenies. I have respect for the old 270kw SS, which was capable of undercutting 6 seconds, that car was Ford's target when they designed the FG turbos and that's why they turned out so good. Go the XR6T.
