Apparently the base model C6 corvettes do 0-100km/h in the low 4 second range. Similar power, lighter body, wider tyres, and better suspension - of course it's gonna smoke the F6. Do your car have a modified exhaust by any chance ? If someone doesn't see you coming, they could mistake a loud exhaust for speed.

I've been cab waved by a chick whilst driving a Camry home from work at 2am. Don't think drunk chicks at night actually give a damn if your car's a Camry, Falcon or BMW. But kudos for getting the chat, smick.

Actually, I think there's more to the human mind than science can explain. Once I was thinking of blasting my car down a dark street 'empty' at night, but something inside me warned me not to do it. As I cruised down the street at 50, a guy and his broken down car (with no headlights) appeared in view, and I just managed to brake and swerve around him. Had I flogged the car, things would've turn out much worse.

RWD or rear-biased AWD. Certainly not this half arsed AWD from the Taurus (FWD and power to the rears only if wheel slip is detected).

Was the R-spec's fuel bill really sh1tting you that much, Smicky ? Petrol bills are only 20% of the cost of ownership (the biggest being depreciation).

Agreed, there is a lot of good tech in the Taurus, but why'd they have to half arse an upmarket large car by giving it FWD ? Not even the Japanese car makers are crazy enough to make a 2 tonne FWD.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll fill in the form and add photos and copies of letters requesting tree trimming. There are 3 large trees with hazardous falling branches that take out power lines and fall on cars, not exactly a nature strip, more like surviving trees the council can't be bother maintaining. The small trees planted on my street have been no problem whatsoever.

Last Saturday, A massive tree branch fell on my dad's car, which was parked on the street. It broke off a side mirror and dented the bonnet. My family and neighbours have all asked the council to trim the trees on the street, and the last trim job was very measely. NRMA can take care of it but there's a $600 excess fee. So I called the council and they said they'll send me a form to make a claim, then they'll assess the damage. Do you guys have any advice ? Somehow, I don't think chasing up the council is an easy job.

Venom, there's a lot of speculation and it's one's word against another. We'll have to wait and see, hopefully the Falcon will live on, but if not, I'll buy myself the final version.

That article says the kids sped off due to gate crashers. I don't think this was a case of reckless hooning, they were escaping from some violent ar$eholes. The concept of the Falcon is Ford US's best weapon to compete with the Mercedes E class, BMW 5 series and Cadillac. Something the Taurus's front biased AWD system will never be. I think the Falcon will live on in one form or another.
