  1. Yeah, you're probably right about the RS being rebadged as FPV. Anyway, putting 225kw into the front wheels is quite ballsy. When TRD put 240kw into their FWD Aurion, the front tyres got smoked and handling was terrible.
  2. Sabre saw At least it wasn't a jack hammer.
  3. This car may be the successor to the XR5 turbo. It produces 300hp (225 kw). Review: http://motoring.sky.com/car-reviews/focus-rs.aspx Specs: http://motoring.sky.com/news/ford-focus-rs...ce-details.aspx
  4. I'm in Sydney and I thought I felt my earphone wires jerk at 9pm yesterday, not sure if it was from the earthquake or me shaking my right leg.
  5. As much as I love the I6 and the Falcon.... The V6 is favoured by Ford due to simple business economics. V6 engines allows for FWD layouts (which are lighter, cheaper to make and have less driveline friction). The Barra I6 would be too long to fit into most of the American Fords (or Mazda, Lincoln, etc). They also view the cast iron Barra engine as outdated and inefficient. And finally, most yanks don't give a sh*t about FWD/RWD, V6/I6.
  6. I've read that measures to restrict CO2 release have done more harm than good to the environment. In order to grow crops for ethanol fuel production, large amounts of forest have been cleared, for that cleared forestland to grow back - it would take 400 years. Using that logic, my unleaded petrol burning Falcon is greener than an E85 vehicle. Lastly, I'd like to add that Bob Brown is a douche bag, for trying to get rid of some heavy CO2 emitting industries. That would just kill 1000s more Aussie jobs unnecessarily.
  7. That's nice Dragan, but just remember that your insurance company can choose not to pay up if something happens.
  8. I'm sensing that some diehard Ford fans are getting emotional, haha. But I'm a realist. Even on a Ford forum, I dare say that this 466kw Expensive Daewoo is awesome. When it comes to V8s, GM has Ford beat. XR8 just can't cut it. GM can make great cars like the supercharged 7L V8 on a Corvette ZR1 produces 600hp+ (450 kw+) of power. The only reason I like Ford more, is that they deliver more bang for buck on their Falcon range than the Commodores. And the torquey I6 Barra engine is just plain wicked.
  9. That's ridiculous. For the 40K buy it now price, you could buy an ex-demo FG XR6T. Haha.
  10. The SHO is AWD, "based on a front wheel drive platform" (1:17). Don't think the RWD fans will be too happy with that. Starting price in the USA, ~$US38K = $AU58. Ford would save money with a global large car platform, then again, there's a large cost associated with freighting. Not sure how this is going to work out. I'd much rather a Falcon XR6T - better snap one up asap, probably when I finish uni.
  11. From my understanding, the '09 GTRs have launch control (haven't read anything about the Aussie '09 version being any different). It runs 0-60mph in 3.3s with LC / 3.9s without. LC overuse has f*cked up gearboxes and caused a warranty sh*tfight. As a result, ALL the new '10 models won't have LC.
  12. Agreed. I wouldn't say the W427 is a bad car. But for 150K, you could get an '09 Nissan GTR. 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 3.3s. The Nissan also corners better, has Japanese reliability, and turns more heads. But if your budget is under 75K, then the F6 is the only way to go.
  13. Another vid: http://www.2sportscars.com/tesla-sports-car.shtml Apparently, endurance isn't this car's forte, the battery is drained after 6x quarter mile runs. And once the battery's flat, you've gotta charge it for several hours as opposed to a 5 minute refuel.
  14. Then again, if someone has subtle mods like a K/N high flow air filter / flash tune that's off the books, I'm not sure how the cops can find out. It's not like they're going to pull over a random P plater and get a mechanic to look at the car.
  15. Giving cyclists a taste of their own medicine - a mate suggested this to me as a joke. On an 80km/h highway, you have to sometimes put up with cyclists going at 40km/h. What you do is overtake them, and then move at 20, if the cyclists try to overtake you, you speed up to 60 and then slow down again.
  16. That green is a wicked colour, congrats on your purchase.
  17. I've always had the perception that the UK was quite a boring place with very little for recreation compared to Australia. Must be the booze and sex culture that's holding them up.

    Bb Delivers Again

There are unattractive women with nice enough personalities to be respected. But her, with that personality, she deserved what was coming. The only 6 she could pull off, is if she got liposuctioned. I'm sure all that fat could power a 6 cylinder biofuel engine.
  19. Doubt it, if you can bias to FWD, you can also bias to RWD - which is the obvious choice for a performance model. Ford f*cked up with a FWD biased AWD Lincoln, they're not gonna make the same mistake again, esp. after barely surviving recession.
  20. Name: Henry Age: 21 Occupation: Helpdesk Attendant (Part time) / Mechanical Engineering Student Loc: Sydney Current car: 06 Falcon BF XT (good enough to embarrass cocky people in Commodores, Lancers, Mazdas, etc. at the lights) Car to get in 3 years: Latest XR6T in lightning strike
  21. Sweet looking car but at 90K, no thanks. I'd rather import a Mustang GT V8 which is $USD30 / $AUD45 + taxes or get a BMW 135i for $78K.
  22. To any person who chooses Ford over Holden, I say congrats on thinking with your brain A Falcon will always win a drag race against a Late model camira of the same class. When I was shopping for a 2nd hand car, I noticed that in some Holdens, interior plastic fittings were coming loose. Even saw this on one '06 Berlina WTF.
  23. @ the arse hat F*cking around is just part of being male, I'm glad this forum appreciates crude humour.
  24. Grass car guy should take his car to a gardener for servicing, some of the grass is turning yellow
  25. You always want the things you can't get, but being a mod isn't all that fun after a while. I'm talking from experience, I've been a mod on other forums in the past. Reasons why being a mod sucks: > You deal with the same problems from noobs and spammers over time. > You're obligated to move away from your usual browsing habits, and search and a destroy spam. > You can't be as much of an ass as you used to be because you have to set an example. I know that banning people is fun, but after 1-2 months, big whoop.
