  1. All fixed, used a longer M8x1.25x25mm bolt which reached the good thread down the hole. And some loctite. No longer leaking.
  2. The thread in the oil sump seems to go a fair bit deeper than the length of the bolt, will a new bolt that is longer screw in or just end stripping the rest of the thread? Cheers
  3. Being aluminium or whatever the sump is made of, can I just screw in a bigger bolt?
  4. Yeah was thinking that too, have only tapped a thread once before. Cheers
  5. Hi all, was looking under the car and found an oil leak. It was coming from turbo oil line (the one on the driver's side of the oil sump) so went to tighten it and it looks like some goose has previously stripped the thread and bothched it up with loctite. So need to replace the oil sump, does anyone know what these cost? Can I get one from someone other than Ford as they will rip me off? Cheers. P.S always use jack stands and a trolley jack when working on a car, I was stupid and used two scissor jacks, one of which failed when I applied some force to the bolt, scared the sh*t out of me!
  6. Thanks guys, yeah must start with furthest from the master cylinder and not release the brake pedal with the bleed screw undone.
  7. Hi folks, Has anyone here changed their own brake fluid and bled the brakes before on a car with ABS? I've done this before on a car without ABS with someone pumping the brake pedal while I bled the brakes. Just wanted to check if I can still do this on my XR6T. Thanks in advance.
  8. Never heard of Nitto's before but will probably go with them instead after reading all the good reviews and will last longer with the higher treadwear ratting. Cheers
  9. Hi all, Looking at replacing my tyres soon (Dunlop Sport Maxx 245/40/18) and I'm wanting a tyre with some more grip. My car has 260rwkw and just about spins to the end of 2nd gear atm. I'm interested in the Toyo R1R's but they have a 140 treadwear rating. Has anyone used these before? What mileage did you get out of them compared with other tyres you've had? Cheers!
  10. That's a BFII XR6T on its own - another variable - I guess I should add my weight
  11. really? it told me I would do a 12.9 with 257rwkw for 1720kg. You need to convert from kw to hp also. Divide by 0.746.
  12. Hi all, found this 1/4 mile calculator on the net - seems pretty accurate but doesn't take into account if the car is FWD/4WD/RWD. Just need to divide your car weight by 0.454 to convert to pounds. http://robrobinette.com/et.htm
  13. For my BF2 XR6T: Slotted DBA 4000 Series brake rotors all round. Removed centre muffler - helped fuel economy and improved sound F6 Intake Snorkel - a bit more power Custom tune - 257rwkw and 620Nm Real happy with all these mods!
  14. I used to get a rattle from the timing chain at idle when I used castrol edge 0W-40 particularly when the oil was new and clean. I then tried their 10W-60 and it has now stopped.
  15. Hi, Does anyone know if there are any tuners around Brisbane or even the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast that use the Sniper tuners? Cheers.
  16. I donated over a week ago and I haven't come up on the latest donations list or have a 'donating member' on my profile. Has the money cleared? I did a bank deposit. Cheers
  17. I put "DONATadrian-celati" as the description on the statement. Cheers
  18. Maybe a borg warner/Expensive Daewoo 3.08 lsd diff centre???
  19. yep same castrol edge sport and same viscosity
  20. What models have 3.23 lsd?
  21. These are the pipes I bought off you - sounds good by the way! Same stretch of road - pacific highway, went from Sydney to Ballina on a tank. Same conditions as before - one passenger, medium load in boot, cruise set to 4-5k over speed limit.
  22. Hi all, Thought you may find it interesting that after removing my centre muffler (BF MKII XR6T) I have had improved fuel economy on the highway. I now get down to 8.4L/100. The best I could manage before was around 9.4L/100. How does this consumption compare? Figured it may be a result of more bottom end torque around 2000rpm (cruising speed)???
  23. No worries. Have been looking in to it and probably better off just getting more power with a custom tune. I just think gearing's a bit too tall - does 3rd gear really need to go up to 180? It might be a nicer car to drive on a hilly, winding road with shorter gearing. What initially made me think of this was when I went for a ride in a focus XR5 with a few mods - around 190kw atw and it feels like it pulls a lot harder in 2nd and 3rd with the shorter gearing. Guess I'll just have to go for more power!
  24. Nah in Brisbane, yeah wouldn't want to go shorter than 3.2 though I think 2.73 is too tall.
  25. Hi. Does anyone know if you can get 3.1 (or there abouts) diff gears for a BFII Auto XR6T sedan?? Who are reputable makes/retailers? Are they hard to install? Cheers.
