Yeah I've decided I will update the suspension in the next 12 months. Even though it's 13cm off the floor it only just clears carpark tyre stop kerb things. Plus I'd probably like the eyebrow height raised a CM. Not sure what it'll cost me though. I'm guessing about $800 for the front shock and spring and then maybe $600 for rear shock and leaf reset.
I was dead set on getting a heat exchanger but called Bruce Heinrich and was talked out of it for a trans cooler. Going to go with his advice and get the cooler installed. They said they've been installing them for a long time and on race falcons too and never had one come back with an issue. Was good enough for me, and cheaper too.
I just bought a XR6T as a daily driver lol. I was running a 230kW WRX STI but the defect worries got to me. So now I'm looking out for a MY 2000 WRX I can use just for motorsport duties. The Falcon drinks but it's comfy!
Would anyone have some standard BF ute suspension I can buy/borrow?? Went into regency for id check and the pricks did me for eyebrow height 2cm too low. Yet I'm sitting 13cm off the floor. Farks sake.
Hey guys, after recently buying a XR6T ute I have a sinking suspicion my badges are slightly out of place and it's annoying me. Has anyone ever posted up a template for the right location, or does Ford sell one?
With 100km in sport mode and 100km in drive I'm getting 13.5l/100km (300kw xr6t) So basically 600km a tank at the end of the day I did get 8.3l/100km on an interstate drive though!
Best tyre I have used by far was the Yoko AD08, unbelievable dry grip but horrible in the wet. Though they were $460 a corner on 245s so you paid for it!
Currently running KU31's and they break out at any given oppotunity. Been doing some light reading and it seems Nitto Invo are the best bet. Looks like around $600-$700 delivered for the 2. I was a bit apprehensive on the brand but found out they're just the north american branch of Toyo Tyres.
You'll find KU31 is an all rounder, KU36 will have superior dry handling but worse wet handling. It's basically a street legal semi slick. Better alternatives to the KU36 (but more expensive) are the Yokohama AD08 or Hankook RS3. I'll be trying Nitto Invo out next personally.
Ah not quite Volks guys, they are Axis Super Hiro. I have Volks on the other car, big fan of the design. http://www.axiswheels.com/view-wheel/axis-super-hiro
