  1. Mine is pretty terrible. Only suggestions I got from my local installer was a shark fin or going back to an in-guard antenna ie old 90s cars. Guess I'll just have to deal with it cos' both those options suck.

    Which Brake Pads

I destroyed my brake pads on the track and needed some immediately and the only thing I could grab on a Sunday was Bendix General CT. They are awful. Do not get. I cheaped out and bought some QFM HPX on my STI and they are terrible too. Ferodo DS2500s were so much better,
  3. Hi guys. I was pretty dead set on some Invo's but there seems to be a massive shortage on the size I need. Taleb can't get them in anytime soon (in fact they have no idea when they will) and I can't find them locally. I guess while you're reading if you know where I can find 2x 275/30/19s at a competitive price that'd be great. Otherwise, what's the next best tyre at a similar price point? ($600 for 2) Currently the KU31s I have on the rear step out at any given opportunity.
  4. Cop chip?? Every answer brings more questions lol.
  5. That is really weird that it's there in such an obvious place - What is it supposed to do for an N/A?
  6. Hi guys, only had the car for a month and just noticed this wasn't plugged into anything. What the?
  7. Thanks Spyathe I just ordered it
  8. Nice ill be buying that t piece! Is it definitely model 036? Does your double gauge pod have the clips like the clock pod does?
  9. Don't suppose you have pics of how yours is setup? Also what gauge pod is everyone using? I got a $100 one off Ebay and it doesn't have the clips like the standard clock unit so it's not sitting perfectly flush and it's giving me the sh*ts. Can't seem to find any at all with the two clips..
  10. Got my gauges in now. When I installed the oil pressure sender the oil light came on the dash. So I wired the sender to earth to remove that temporarily. Is there a better way so the dash light would work normally? Also with the oil pressure, what are correct pressures for idle, WOT etc? Thanks!
  11. Good weather when you have two lanes for yourself though
  12. Love the write up mate! I have to ask though, I noticed your TC light is in the top left hand corner of your dash, yet mine is in the bottom right and they're different logos. We both run BF's - Is that a sedan vs ute thing?
  13. Hahahaha what was his reaction to that? So I'm guessing 300 or 305s
  14. They KU31's? I have them on right now in 275s and they don't grip much for me - Obviously yours look much wider
  15. Nah, just running oil pressure. Where is the pressure switch located?
  16. Guys, when installing oil pressure gauge, do our engines have a pressure feed somewhere or do we need to use a sandwich plate?
  17. The concept of throttle control was definitely new to me!
  18. Pitlane Performance in Victoria. It's not like the rubber is fantastic. KU31's are bottom of the range for a performance tyre. I imagine this will change when better rubber is applied. This is my experience with my ute. When I wasn't competing them in motorsport I had a daily 98 WRX and then a 02 STI. The WRX's have weak boxes but nothing helical cuts can't fix. The STI boxes are pretty much bullet proof. I'm sure you would've smashed a tonne, when they are stock they aren't that quick at all. You need to put a lot of money into them to be good, then they are very good. When you have 270kw without opening up the engine with AWD, semi slicks in a car that weighs 1100kg in street trim. Well they can go. Though I'm not trying to turn this into a car war, let's move on
  19. In the WRX STI I had Tein coils that were corner weighted, front and rear whiteline swaybars & strut brace, anti lift kit, all new bushing and endlinks on AD08s and I still wouldn't say it handled like a go-kart. Drive a Formula Ford and then you might say it handles like a go kart..
  20. I'd be finding out who did the work and does he have invoices to prove it. Graham West, Bruce? Cool. Backyard job or no receipt? Avoid. The box won't have any issues with rego if you're in SA too. You don't need to go to regency for same state rego transfer. If it's been done properly regency won't have a problem with it anyway, they would have a problem with a lot of stuff on it though. Has to be stock to pass but that's a different kettle of fish. The whole carbon vinyl everywhere makes me wonder how old the guy is. But that may be just different tastes.. Brembo's are more costly than standard. Think of it in the way whatever standard brakes cost (pads, rebuilt etc) brembo brakes will easily cost 1/3 on top of that price. Standard screen and no dual climate control sucks a bit. Good luck dude!
  21. Hi mate I can probably answer this well for you. I've come from near 10 years of owning 200kw AWD cars that I used to compete in motorsport and recently bought a 300kw BF ute. In a nutshell it is stupidly different. You can't just plant the foot and point it where you want to go. TC does nothing foot to the floor and the bum will just slide out spinning. Even going 60km an hour, if you foot to the floor it will slide out again. It's pretty silly. If you go around a corner with any acceleration guess what? Bum slide. That's pretty much what I've found the falcon ute to be. A bum slide machine. This is on KU31's so will be interesting to see how it goes with better rubber. For spirited driving that involve a lot of corners forget about keeping up with your AWD mates. They really are boats compared. Even in a straight line a 200kw WRX will be gone if they launch it. Just not enough traction available in the ute. ^This is on standard shocks with lowered springs with rear 275/30/19 rears. On the upside it's very comfy and lazy. It's a good daily driver. It's not a true performance car like my WRX STI was. Sorry if I offend everyone here, just my 2c.
  22. This looks pretty reasonable, for example. Not sure on what measurements this is though.
  23. Hi guys, after recently buying a ute it's proving a little bit too low for my liking. Off the floor it's fine, but the eyebrow height is a bit low for me. In SA the legal requirements are 100mm off the floor. For eyebrow height, is at least 357mm front and 370mm rear. What king spring would you recommend for the front? Pics would be awesome if you have a lowered BF ute. I'm assuming that I'd just need to get the rear leafs reset to match the height of the front springs. I'll be using 19 inch rims if that matters. Thanks everyone
  24. Bought a month ago at 130,000km. They're certainly getting cheap.
  25. Hey guys. What do you use for sectioning off the tray for carrying smaller goods? For example if you wanted to section off three parts of the tray. Often I'm carrying a lot of heavier smaller gear than larger items. A rubber tray liner won't cut it.
