  1. Happy Birthday BensXR6T!

  2. Been a while, put me down as a maybe lads
  3. I've fitted a fibreglass GT kit to my XR, was an absolute bitch to get to fit properly, but the end result is pretty effective. Exposes the intercooler and makes the car look really aggressive. Got a couple of crappy iPhone pics, but you will get the idea.
  4. Try resetting the TPS. With the ignitiion OFF, press your foot to the floor, then crank the engine for about five seconds (it shouldn't start), then try starting it without the throttle. If it starts when your foot is planted, there is a problem somewhere and I would suggest taking it to a good mechanic to read any fault codes that may exist. Also, as mentioned above, make sure the throttle body and butterfly is nice and clean. Very little amount to carby cleaner on a lint free rag usually gets them spotless pretty quick. Cheers, Ben
  5. The F6 has longer legs then the GT335 which gives it the rolling top end speed, however, tests have shown the GT335 is quicker down the 1/4 and too 100... nothing a bit of tuning won't change though. IMO do the right things to the SC V8 and it will be a lot stronger the the T6 right through the rev range, especially in the lower rev range.
  6. You probably could get there, how safely & reliably would be the question though. Although, I don't think the cat will flow enough so you would probably have to punch it. My BA made 350rwhp on 10psi with 42lb injectors & cat back exhaust, only other change was a KN filter. Upgraded the cooler to HDi, 4" dump and 5" cat and made 404rwhp from 12psi.
  7. He may want the luxury of the fairmont, think G6ET Easiest if you have a complete donor car mate, change the ECU along with the engine a drive train. You will probably need to go to ford to get your ICC working. Other then that, should be a simple change over of parts.
  8. Has the car been tuned or is it still stock? Does it happen at the same RPM? If it's been tuned and happens at the same rpm every time, could be a torque tag setting somewhere. If it's still stock, then coils and/or plugs would cause it. Take it down to a workshop and ask them to plug a scan tool in and look for codes.
  9. If it's grinding, make sure you have enough oil in there, pretty simple to check yourself. It also may not be the diff, I had a grinding in the rear of my car that sounded like a stuffed diff, but ended up being the handbrake liner on the left hand side. It wasn't disengaging all the way and wore through the pad to steel.
  10. You need to disguise a camry?
  11. There's no restriction in the state forests unless the track is gated with an no access sign? What are they chasing? Unregistered/unroadworthy vehicles? They gonna need a lot of coppers to block every exit lol, there's hundreds of em at Beerburrum.
  12. All you need is CAT, cooler, 42lb injectors and valve springs, however, full exhaust and 4" dump will make it easier and in tank pump or surge tank will make it safer. You don't need to do the converter, tuner can set torque tags in the tune to prolong the life of the trans.
  13. Yeah mate, makes no difference at all over 3000 stall can cause problems though
  14. Stay away from the monza, my BA didn't respond well to it at all. On a budget, go for the HDi kit as it will support further when you start itching for more. Monza @ 15psi made 280rwkw HDi @ 12 PSI made 302rwkw My mods are 42lb injectors, nizpro valve springs, KN filter, 8 PSI actuator, high flow cat, 4" dump and twin 2.5" redback exhaust. It's very streetable and reliable.
  15. Faulty turbo won't cause a vibration in the car, that could be a shot engine mount. Lack of boost normally comes from the boost solenoid getting a bit sticky, squirt some WD40 in it and see if it solves the boost problem. Take the intake pipe off the front of the turbo and give the shaft a bit of a wiggle and make sure it still spins freely.
  16. Sounds like the box is on it's last legs mate. The T5 is notoriously weak, and running a button clutch behind it would have shortened it life considerably especially with 280rwkw. You're better off to dump the box and put in a T56. Cheers, Ben
  17. Check for boost leaks.
  18. Haven't had an issue with mine, it's starting to wear a little bit on one of the seam lines at the top though.
  19. took me and a mate about 5 hours and a carton of the amber stuff. Yeah, 60lb will be ok at 300, maybe a little rich, not sure. 12psi got my ba to 302 with the mods in my sig.
  20. No matter what party is in leadership, there is always something they are gonna screw us over with....pollies become pollies to make their own pockets thick, not the citizens....
  21. Fixed it for you
  22. think the rods will give up before the pistons
  23. You'll get 300 with 42lb greens easily, however, you will get used to 300 pretty quick and want more. Pretty sure you can get 350 from them. You might want to look at a surge tank as well, saves having to keep the tank over 50% all the time ... it's a real PITA to only have about 30 litres usable lol.
  24. Don't need to cut much off, and if you do it neatly enough and repaint it in the same colour, would be hard to spot. If you don't want to cut, get a thinner core...
