Oops.. sorry for the lack of updates. Simply put, no mods yet. Only just clocked 2,500 on her and after the first service, might head down to Adelaide on the next holiday break. I'm thinking it won't be for another few months to come before I start modding the GT. What would you guys recommend? I want to go safe on this one and practically start with an intercooler. We're getting good weather up here at the moment for running her - low 10's during the evening, and sub 10's during the night, damn does that supercharger whine in good weather!! However, hot days hit 40 degrees, so I'm thinking, the more boost I run, the more problems I'll get. At the moment, from what I notice, giving her the boot puts the boost bar just past half way - so around 8psi peak is my evaluation. If so, what would be a safe tune? Any other modifications within about the $5k mark?

Coming from someone who bought a G6ET, which is just another word for an overpriced XR6T? Silly jokes aside, speed isn't everything. For one, you said that your mates car was tuned and had work done to it, comparing it to a car which is stock. Secondly, if I wanted a go-fast car without any form of luxury or compensation for money spent (cause the car would have a heck of a lot of problems producing such power when it's not from factory), I would have bought a Nissan 180sx or 32 GTR. The point in buying an F6 or GT is the fact that you're getting a nice car, not one where you have to build it up to beat them stock.. nerrrr...

Buy a yaris. I'm sorry, but we're talking about 1.7 tonne Rear Wheel Drive vehicles. 4L i6 and 5L V8. If you want fuel efficiency to be a concern about what makes more power based on cost of running, then you'll have little hope in getting much feedback, because I for one didn't buy a GT 335 to watch my fuel efficiency.

Car clocked 1,600 km's today, so it's now "run in", as FPV put it in their guide book. I simply babied it for it's first few hundred, giving it a squirt now and then but never seeing over 4,500 revs. Once 600 kays were on it, I gave it a nice run from 40-160 or so and also cruised at high speeds varying my revs, speed and gears. I have yet to do a standing 0-100 run, but very keen to see how it churps in first, as changing gears from first to second, or even second to third give a nice workout for the traction control.

Yep.. I doubt the GT 335's will be any more valuable then any other FPV.

Right.. the exhaust isn't bad.. and I think the only reason people would lean towards changing it is to support more power, not note. The sound is awesome, no doubt, but it's not as grunty as the HSV"s bi-modal exhaust, from what I've heard in person of both cars. The GT sounds better, by a long shot. The supercharger whine just sends shivers down my spine, and it must sound good because people turn.. and that's without revving it too high! I'll take a video of the sound when I get a chance.. been too busy driving it! The rims do look small on the FG; and I'm not sure why FPV won't make genuine 20's.. Both the 18's for the XR series and 19's for the FPV's look too small for the body, but I guess it'll do until genuine 20's come afoot. The thing with these wheels is that they're not just "Ford" rims.. they're FPV.. and you gotta buy an FPV to get these genuine, unlike the lick-and-stick XR ones.. So I'll hold on to them for now In terms of mods, at the moment, nothing planned.. but I can already tell the supercharger has more oomph.. when you give it a squirt, you can hear a fluttering sound from the engine bay, most likely releasing a lot of air since the PSI is so low.. However, being belt driven, I'm afraid that raising the boost could cause the belt to snap and cause damage.. Though, I do want an intercooler as I feel it'll keep safe any small forms of tuning in future..

Haha.. I actually love the wheels - I understand when people say they're too thin in the spokes compared to the body and stripes of the car. But I like them Thanks all for the words .. I'll post some more photos & maybe a video of the exhaust tomorrow when I give it a good clean! Damn bugs stick on a white car like crazy..

Haha.. bit of photoshopping the car was dirty at the time of photos... @Worm, completely agree.. I think the linear power from the v8 s/c is what makes the car feel slower then the turbo, but damn does it sound good Once you get the oil a bit warm, the supercharger really whines :D

Got the decals as an option - I like them haha.. and the Raccoon eyes is what makes it stand out as an FPV Leaving it stock for awhile.. the no-intercooler situation scares me a little, so I might put one on down the track and tune it, but basically keep the rest stock. I don't believe the exhaust is everyone's taste. A few people who heard it (friends) thought it would be louder, especially at idle.. I like it, but it's definitely not as loud as HSV's. I'll take a video once I get a chance.

So, as a few people know, I've been hanging to get my FPV GT for the past 3 and a half months. I purchased it back in December, and wanted one brand new out of the factory.. It finally arrived on Monday, 9pm, taken straight off the delivery truck! And I've got to say, what a piece of artwork! This car is definitely a head turner, and I've never heard anything quite like the engine. The V8 is noticeable, but subtle enough to let the whine of the supercharger completely turn heads. With only a few kilometers on the clock, I have yet to really give it a full boot. Of course, I haven't even reached 6,000 revs on it yet, but one thing I will point out is how smooth the power delivery comes through. Whether this is good or bad is something I'll find out a bit later on, but compared to the FG turbo's, though the GT is faster on paper, it definitely doesn't feel as fast when driving it. Why I say this is because once you hit 2,000 revs on the FG turbo, you instantly hit a massive amount of torque and power, sending the rest of the revs to hell. However, in the V8 S/C, it's the opposite.. Torque is instant, but it doesn't feel like it's delivering that whiplash you'd get from the turbo. I love the car's power, no doubt, but hopping from an FG turbo to the GT 335, I feel gimped in terms of performance, at this moment. Everything else though, my God, incredible! From the sound, to the leather interior, to the suede found completely everywhere (mmm, fury), it definitely looks like a very beasty & aggressive car, yet modern in the interior to suit any European performance-car lover's needs. Mine included. The white looks incredible - and though it's still a tad dirty from the trip here from Darwin, I'm glad I went from that colour. More photos to come*

Mm, yeah, it's not their best.. still nice that they're marketing it though..

Who was that directed to, sorry? If me (since I mentioned I bought a GT), it comes tomorrow from what I know. It was shipped down via truck from Darwin on Saturday morning, so I don't get to pick it up till Monday. Will be posting pictures for sure :D

Take a stab at yourself for that one, because it was you who originally posted an idiotic statement. Let people do what they want. Search youtube; there's thousands of other car videos that need your stupid responses, go post there. Anyway, I don't think this needs to continue 'cause it's simply getting way out of what the OP was intending.. By the way, do the newer utes (GS / F6) come with the FPV badge on the steering wheel? I thought it was only the BA/BF FPV's that had the Ford badge, I was quite surprised that they didn't use the FPV badge for the FG FPV utes.. *shrug*

Aftermarket front bar on ebay has the tear drops cut out for the FPV look-alike. Bogan special .com.au can do it too, if you simply state it's for an XR series car. *shrugs*

Have intercooler kits been made and/or released for the GT yet? If so, any links / prices?
