Done only 1500kms in my FG XR6T sedan, averaging 12.7 on regular unleaded(the fuel used by Ford while developing the car). 98 will give you a little better economy(won't make up the cost of the fuel), but that's it.. unnoticeable power gain.

Do you realise your illegal? 18yr with an XR6T? What's the world coming to, no wonder young drivers are killing themselves weekly by the multiples. Your brother is probably illegal too. I can't believe these insurance companies insure illegal drivers.. Am I missing something here?? How?

Reading in Herald Sun today, the XR8 is finished once the new regulations come in mid-year. Coyote 5l is for FPV only, XR8 is dead. Not surprised. I still don't think even the new V8 coyotes will outperform the XR6T or F6. We'll see. The supercharged version 320kw or so will still be lucky to go sub 5.0sec 0-100. I doubt it.

Taping an empty bourbon can around the tree as an item of remembrance where youths killed themselves while drunk driving? If you can't identify the social issue here, go learn something about society. Just go grab that bottle mate, escape the sad reality that is your life. Or did the speeding fine hit the pocket too hard for the booze this week?

The response I expected Rootster. You're just a sook then, all talk.
-
So Rootster, what are you actually going to do about this as far as 'taking a stand' goes? All I've read so far is what looks to me like typical whinging about having to flush money down the toilet in the form of a speed fine. Rules are rules, if you don't like them, take the bus. Enforcing the speed limit saves lives, how many or how little is not relevant. If it saves 1 it's a good thing.
-
I hear you mate, but from the Governments perspective they can't do a lot else. They can't make rules depending on the car you drive(dam I wish). I think in the case of the average driver, knowing that a speed camera could be around the corner is in the back of all our minds... therefore we are likely to speed less. I see your point about being busted for only 4-5 klms over. The idiots who do 60klm over with mates in the car at night while pissed, you can't do much for them.. these are the ones who die. So that is a fair argument. Those who kill themselves are going to do it anyway, laws or no laws. Stinging experienced drivers for 5 or so Klms over is ridiculous. 'P' platers deserve to get done though. I'd rather see a 'lets get middle aged women in SUVs off the bloody road' petition....grrrrrrrrr, my pen is out and waiting.

Especially when you see a bloke in a VE SS ute(today) sitting in the left turning lane but planning on going straight by jumping traffic at the lights then merging. He would have gone 8-10 cars to get to the front, then saw me next to him and realised I was never going to let him do it.... and I didn't. :-)

I have to say Rootster, your arguments are pretty lame. People don't understand that we all have a huge responsibility once given a car license. A car is a weapon that can potentially kill if not used properly. You may be a good driver yourself but so what?? The amount of idiots in the world suggests to me that all these laws are a good thing. Comparing accidents on the road to an office job is hardly a convincing argument. I know we're all car enthusiasts here, but speeding is not what its all about. If you do the right thing you won't get fined. Unfortunately for us the minority who constantly break the rules mean we are all kept under tight, harsh laws. Bottom line.... speed does kill, usually in the hands of inexperienced drivers but happens all the same.

Just for the record, the car that rear-ended the F6 is a Focus not a Fiesta.

Placed my order nearly 3 weeks ago, told 4-6 weeks wait for delivery. 2010 FG XR6T, Silhouette, Lux/Tech packs, Tint. Life is good.

It's known in the industry that Expensive Daewoo have been selling very cheap fleet cars for years in maintaining Australia's number 1 selling car, sometimes at a loss. I wouldn't be surprised if they fall hard. This is purely for the purpose of marketing the Late model camira as 'number 1' and drawing sales. Ford gave up trying to compete on that level years ago and decided to market in other directions.

I apologies if it came across smart.. was tongue in cheek the last comment. I didn't want to quote the price, but considering the number of cars my family have purchased/leased over the years, it's good to get a price like that and pretty much justified. I still went to 3 other dealers, all of whom wouldn't match it.. so you're probably right. Haven't actually driven an FG XR6T yet, just an XT... didn't have the chance to test drive one. Loved my BA XR6T to death. Really looking forward to getting the FG, can't wait!

An immediate family member worked on staff for 30+ years, I get full staff discount. You are just plain wrong about the discount not being had on 2010 cars. I've been given the employee discount program reduction on a March build + the current $1900(from memory) reduction for Feb build car(XR6T), which the dealer has extended for me even though it's a new build... + I negotiated more off that price also. I'm paying a touch over 41k drive away. If any Joe Blo can walk in and negotiate a 2010 build with lux/tech packs, mats, tank of fuel for that price... I take my hat off to them. To all.... be sure not to see Anchor for a deal if you're a Ford staff member or immediate family member of.

Taxis consistently doing 1 million klms? Ford literally punishes Falcons in durability testing as much as any car in the world, as Australian conditions are not kind on a world scale. Volkswagen consistently towards the top of new car customer complaint surveys, along with all the Euro brands. I'd like to hear your detailed opinion on the Falcon being "thrown together" in comparison to the Golf. BTW, I've ordered my silhouette FG XR6T 2010, auto, lux pack, tech pack. 2 weeks in, probably another 2-3 weeks until delivery. My 2nd XR6T, first was a BA. After that a BA2 XR8... biggest mistake I ever made. Won't say what I payed, staff discount price...
