yea my FG also done by bullet in geelong..made 288rwkw with standard turbo..now has F6 turbo on her.. not been dynoed since but very happy

I Have just replaced the turbo on my FG It had done 28000klm was very noisy..whining.. car has been tuned with exhaust and XR8 airbox..made 285rwkw..boosting to 18 psi The turbo was noisy before tune, but got progressively worse. The turbo was replaced with the bigger F6 turbo..has not been dynoed since, but the car is a different beast now..Before was hard to get off line hard without wheelspin..now boost comes on higher in rev range....but pulls harder and longer..like a train..avg economy is 11.1 ltrs per 100. I dont know if it will make more power, but it feels better...more driveable

Hey, I have an FG XR6 turbo. It does exactly the same thing. It only started after 3000klm, before that nothing.. I had it back to the dealer numerous times. They told me it is normal !!!!!even saying they have other demos that do it too.. I dont like it, but dont know what else to do. I took my car to a turbo specialist & took hom for a drive.. He said, yes normal, but for a car with a lot more k's on the clock The noise mine makes is like a siren, it does get a bit quieter after the car is hot..

Thanks for the feedback guys Mine is exactly the same, cold start (noisy), then as she warms up it is not as bad.. At least it is not only my Fg that's doing it. It goes in this week for good oil, turbo oil filter check & general check of all bolts.. Nulon seems to be the popular choice

Thanks for that valuable info I will make sure the turbo oil filter is checked too.. I cant remember the oil brand, but it was mentioned in earlier threads. I will buy the best oil that I can afford. I want my motor to be happy

Thanks Tab, I just remember reading something like, letting the motor bed in properly before changing oil. I presume that 5000ks is bedded in enough. I will get it done next week.

I want to put some better oil in my FGxr6turbo. Just wondering if the motor is too young at 5000k. I have read all the threads regarding oil quality & thickness etc. I dont want to change the oil if needs a few more k's on the clock . any advise would be appreciated

Thanks for the information.. The funny thing is, the car never used to do it ! It does not effect the performance at all. I am just stressing about it.. I did take it to a turbo specialist & was told that it is a normal noise, but for a car with say 70-80,000ks on the clock. Can I take it to another ford dealer???? will they care that I did not buy it from them??

Hi All. I want to get some feeedback from Fg XR6 turbo owners. My turbo is noisy, especially when cold. It makes a noise like a siren under low to medium revs. I have been told by the dealer that it is the same in all Fg turbos !!!! My car has just under 5000ks on the clock. I am realy not happy with this noise as it was not there until a month ago. Apatently it is normal.. I would greatly appreciate some oppinions from other fg turbo owners. I would like to go for a drive in someone elses car to compare it with mine. All oppinions would be greatly appreciared

No I havent touched the middle muffler.. I am happy with the sound that I have.. Most of the system is 3" apart from one section that is 2 x 2 1/4"

Hi, There is two mufflers on an FG XR6T. Centre muffler & one BIg ass muffler at the back.. Mine is gone now, but it is pretty big

I will be interested in the price you get it for.... My mod cost $300.00.. they done a real neat job too.. I bought a rear section & had that modded, so I can put the stock one back on @ a later date when I change the car over

What I did was cut the factory muffler off & got a 3" cannon muffler welded on. Also had twin chrome tips out the back.. Very, very happy with the results.. Deep note, with no droaning.. When you press the load pedal... wow !!!! here is a pic

Ok, here is a sound recording of my exhaust.. I took it with the digital camera, the mic is facing the car to get a better result.. I was not able to see the video on my computer, but could hear the audio.. It works in windows media player. This is the best I can do until I can borrow a video camera

I have a 3" cannon on my FG, the chrome tips just dress it up...sounds deep & wowww

Found file I made a movie with my digital camera, but it sounds sh*#, not the real sound.. I will try my mobile phone & see how that sounds... It does sound nice !! I wont upload the digi camera file, it sounds like a mazda rotary.
