  1. that was a good read. the intake temps were similar when just driving along, his one cools down much quicker obviously and doesnt heat up as much. its a good theory to box up the pod to keep the cool air in one place ill be making something proper when I get the cooler and silicone pipes. the flexi pipe was never going to be a permanent how did you get to have a taller wider intercooler? the kits on ebay only have up to 580x285x78 the noise isnt a problem, I just dont wind the boost up to 16psi and let it off haha and yes my mates fg is ballistic, and he wants to get semislicks.. couldnt imagine how quick it would go with no wheel spin! anyway thanks for that, hopefully I should see a hdi cooler in the mail soon
  2. yeah easy $800 saving. ill just find a reducer silicon pipe to replace the crossover, wont be the hardest thing ive done. goes well, breaks traction in 2nd just putting the foot down. not 100% sure without a proper dyno but my $200(I didnt pay $200) obd2 program says its pulling 283rwkw now, 263 with the old setup, and when it was tuned it made 265 so.. id say its close. the flex pipe has got a wire curled through it, its a intake flex pipe and its pretty sturdy, wouldnt collapse. ille take some pics of the battery thing for you when I get a chance, hopefully tomorrow. it was quite simple to make, and had to drill a hole in the wheel arch thing to bolt it down to. pics will explain. planning to go a Hdi intercooler very soon, and get silicon to replace that flex pipe for a smoother air flow. gotta keep up with my mates fg somehow
  3. yeah was using this setup on friday night, didnt have the oil breather hooked up though made it run abit sloppy I would cut the crossover buttt if I get defected or whatever ive still got the stock setup.
  4. what magical dynos are you using? those numbers seem abit high.. mine was 196rwkw stock mates fg turbo was 215rwkw stock and tuned to 285rwkw... anyways, like its been said.. fgs power delivery is alot quicker and ballistic. although versing mine with my mates fg both stock, I would be able to keep up with a good launch. so technically your BA should be able to take on a fg
  5. made my own kit over the weekend. works well, intake temps are better. identical temps to mates fg with huge HDI intercooler as expected, intake sounds more powerful, quicker response, exhaust note sounds alot better more crisp and sssstutut
  6. is there an actual weight?? id like to know aswell. my tare says 1700 drive.com.au says 1755kgs

  8. just noticed no ones posted on this since march.. any answers to what I should be looking for?
  9. yea same deal with mine :( sounds like a bolt rolling around the tub, pulled all the lining out and tightened all the bolts.. then rocking the car side to side I can still hear it. im sure ill find it tomorrow when theres some light.
  10. mines manual too, I know we have dual plate clutches but I'm scared of making it slip. in my first car, after numerous clutch kicking times it eventually shot and dont particually want that feeling again and I just love the power delivery of the fg's. but probably because I'm not used to it
  11. haha yeah sadly I am. after being in my mates fg that got tuned to 280 mine just doesnt feel as good. im thinking about upgrading to the fg all together. the zf in his keeps the wheels spinning into 3rd. so crazy
  12. is it for a ute? because when I went in with my ute, he only had ute pipes and nothing on the sedans. just go down there and haggle lol, say a mate got it for 160 and can he still do a similar price
  13. best p plater cars ever lol
  14. henz to my rescue again haha I ended up going with what I had, and can get it retuned for $300 when I decide to get injectors, cat and all that sh*t
  15. what will produce a higher figure with the same mods, manual or auto?\ thought 265 was a good outcome, atleast the car will last. mine now Car: BF II xr6t Ute Trans: T56 Power: 265rwkw Boost: 12psi Induction: f6 intake Turbo: stock Intercooler: f6 Valve Springs: stock Exhaust: no middle muffler Fuel system: stock
  16. haha didnt even realize the date there. that's a shame that it was killed. long live the 4lturbo plates
  17. biggest dogs!!!! im so over their attitude. seems they will almost do anything for a fine I was threatened with a warning that they could lock me up in the station till they found my true identity for not carrying my drivers license with me. all of a sudden im a criminal for driving my own car to work??? wtf.
  18. just my 2 cents. my mate.. when on green p's, bought his fg xr6t. drove around for 3 months debadged, control arm broke on a rough bump and went around a corner and ended up in a ditch. ofcourse the cops came, poped the hood and noted it was turbo.. got a fine for driving a high powered vehicle and insurance covered him, knowing he was driving a car he wasn't supposed to be driving. if your paying for insurance they should cover you. justcar told me that when I bought my T with a couple weeks left on my p's.

    Fg Rwkw

mm well at the time my car the same as yours with same setup ran 196rwkws. also using a gps timer my mates fg pulled 0-100 in 5.2 so nothing seems wrong with it. also adding it was was done on a Mainline DynoLog Dynamometer which is the most accurate. he got it tuned today and it ran 225rwkws this time and tuned with 15psi to 280rwkws. 16psi would of made 300 but it would be pushing the sh*t fg intercooler pipes to the limits of blowing off. im not sure how some stock fgs are pulling 250 give or take some. what dynos are being used? and how can there only be a 20kw gain after a tune... doesnt seem right..
  20. I was told the exact same thing!!! I replaced one of the sensors I thought was faulty and havent had a problem since.
  21. ahh yer makes sence ill probably be upgrading cars in a couple years, maby to a fg mk2 if they exist. so looks like im gonna stick the the custom tune and leave it at that.

    Fg Rwkw

my mates turbo fg , auto, made 215rwkws completely stock on 98, and k&n panel filter. seems abit low compared to most people on here??
  23. had it dynoed when stock and posting results for those who dont know the figures.. getting it tuned tomorrow so will post the new results when I get it back. also what will produce a higher figure with the same mods, manual or auto? Car: BF II xr6t Ute Trans: T56 Power: 196rwkw Boost: dyno says 5psi Induction: f6 intake Turbo: stock Intercooler: Stock Valve Springs: stock Exhaust: stock Fuel system: stock
  24. looks so awesome. what springs have you got in the back? and I heard the oil breather is alright in turbos but having it connected to the intake sucks the heat out. just what ive heard.
