    My T is Gooooonnee

Your car was in my price range, but I wanted an auto, like more than half of the buyers out there. The colour would not be my first choice either (no offence!) and I think based on the number of orange T's out there, it is not the first choice of many buyers. The fleet manager at work was saying the hero colours are seeing $1-2K less at sale time, because they take longer to sell.
  2. I was really set on picking up an XR6T then sending it off to APS for them to do their magic. When the VZ SV6 was released, I decided it was time to get out of the VY S before the resale went any lower, and I was looking for either a T or an LS1. The SS came up for sale and I hadn't been able to find an XR6T cheap enough to leave change for mods, so I grabbed it. The turbo's have certainly held their value well - two year old models are still holding about 75% of the $43K they were in 2002.
  3. I have just bought myself a modded LS1, and was interested to see how it compares to the Phase 1 that I was originally wanting to buy. I have a VYSS with 237rwkw, as dynoed by previous owner. Mods are tri-Y headers, 2.5" exhaust, high folow cats, and an edit. From 237rwkw I have estimated fwkw to be 300, & torque to be 550nm. I haven't been down the strip yet, only got it Saturday! From others 1/4 mile times with similar mods, I have estimated 0-100 in 5.5 and 1/4 in 13.5. I have put this into the spreadsheet so you can see how a secondhand LS1 compares. Pretty good bang for buck Performance_car_comparison_v102with_emotiveSS.zip
  4. I am looking at upgrading my car at the moment and have been ringing around for quotes. RACV quoted me $1200 for an SS with full exhaust, edited PCM, CAI, and diff. They also said if I made more mods the premium would not change by more than $60, as long as the car remained legal. Might be worth calling back and getting aniother operator. 5. And you guys didn't believe me when I mentioned yellow back in February... http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...indpost&p=91612
  6. Just took a look at http://www.ford.com.au/falcon/htmlPageFram...ination=colours and noticed there is a new colour being released in August called Shockwave. It will be an XR only colour. Anyone have any idea what it is?

    Series II XR6T

?? Looks like you haven't traded for more than 12 months TurboDewd
  8. RATT, I'd be really keen to see a vibe swatch on phantom, to get an idea of how the 2 purples compare. From what I can tell, vibe is not as loud as phantom, which I think is good from a resale perspective, as it won't date as fast.
  9. Max power figures are great, but what I would REALLY like to see is the torque curves, I mean, torque is what gets used on a daily basis. Anyone got torque graphs? Anyone got a torque graph comparing their modded result to their stock motor?
  10. It's more than just warranty, it's resale. Base F6 may cost $9K more than the Base XR6T, but you don't know how much your car cost you till you sell it. As much as a kit is great bang for buck, I don't expect you will get any of the money back. Some people won't buy a second hand modded car. (It's bit like thinking about who slept with your wife before you married her - we all like to pretend she was a virgin!) As such I think you will sell a 3yo T for $30K (65% of $46K), even though the premium brakes and phase II took your spend up to $53K, whereas a 3 year old F6 will get $36K (65% of $55K) T cost = 53-30 = 33 F6 cost = 55 -36 = 29
  11. PASHEN you're going to have to change the sig at the bottom of your posts to phase III
  12. I too prefer an understated look of no rear spoiler. Simple solution to this is to get FPV not to put a wing on when you place your order.
  13. I was talking to the dealer in Dandenong (VIC) on the weekend, working out what options/colour to get on the T later this year and he mentioned they would have 2 new colours: Kermit (Green) and Banana (Yellow) To lend weight to what he told me, if you grab the Feb 04 WHEELS magazine, you will see there is an advert for a model of the BA GT in Kermit Green. I expect the model builders knew about the new colours and have released it before Ford has reeased them.
  14. In comparing fuel economy, it will help to also publish your average sppeed over the trip, to give us an idea of driving mix. In my VY 3.8L manual (yeah don't flame me, the XR6T is next) I get the following: 13.3L/100 with an avg speed of 33km/h (suburban driving) 12.2L/100 with an avg speed of 36km/h (suburban driving) 10.8L/100 with an avg speed of 45km/h (suburban driving and one long trip) 8.8L/100 with an avg speed of 85km/h (highway driving)
