I only use united e85 because they seem to more consistant then caltex eflex, they both use anticorrosives, lot of people in the industry seem to think that this black goo substance that builds up on the injectors are either coming from the anticorrosives, or octane boosters in there pump fuel mix.

Hi guys I thought id let use know after using e85 consistently for about 10thousand kays I developed a misfire after wot an a few lean outs at wot, anyways the problem to me seemed to be something to do with fuel presure. So I went on to do a bit of diagnosing, first thing I noticed was when the motor was cold it had a fuel leak right at the return line of the surge tank but when the car was warmed up the leak was not there anymore. I found it odd an strange but I came to conclusion that while the idle was up on cold start the fuel pressure would have been also which would have been why it was leaking. I decided to pull out the whole surge tank set up out and the fuel rail as well, the first thing I noticed was all the efi lines that were connected to the surge tank was all cracked, these were the only lines that was not e85 compatible. I knew that I should have changed while I did the other lines that were e85 compatible that goes from pump to rail. So I went on to check the fuel rail an I couldn't believe what I saw, I had a long strand of rubber hose jammed in my fuel rail, I couldn't believe what the e85 did to that hose lol just completely ate it away, anyways cleaned it all out an an went on to check my injectors out to see if they were all right. I started pulling all the baskets out to see if they had caught any debris but it all seemed fine an I went on to change the baskets aswell. I now went on to give the injectors a clean an I noticed a massive amount of black goo stuck on the pintle part of the injector(the part were it sprays the fuel out) the goo was hard to get off but I managed to get it as clean as brand new I reckon that goo would have had an affect on spray pattern because some of it was stuck on it real hard, apparently that black goo on injectors seem to be common after doing a bit of research on the net. People seem to think that it may be the additives that they throw in the fuel. Well I've changed all my fuel lines now to a new version of Gates Barridgate Greenshield E100 compatible fuel line cleaned out injectors an rail an now my car is running perfect, hopefully fuel lines hold up if not then I'll be going straight for Teflon lines an Speed Flow fittings. Well I hope this may help anyone that seems to think that they may have a similar problem, but I urge for people that may still have some efi hose in the system while using e85 to check on them an replace them.

Hey danny what fuel lines are you using, are they teflon or rubber.
-
Well done that is an awesome achivement.

You gonna love it mate, I cant wait to see you join the 10 sec club, but I have a feeling that il see you in the 9second club after they finish the set up that you are after after I finish doing the extra mods, il take you for a spin.

I understand that tube an fin and bar an plate both have there advantages an disadvantages, but in my experience with my an my mates cars we prefered the bar an plate over the tube an fin, this is only my opinion.
-
Mine is bar an plate from nizpro, I think all nizpro coolers are bar an plate now, they may have had tube an fin on the earlier design but they seem to do all bar an plate these days, which is better for drag racing in my opinion.
-
my nizpro cooler worked out best for me, I thing its best that if you are after a cooler talk to your tuner because with all the data he captured with previous tunes, he would know what works best.

Hey kosij, I was in the same situation has u, my 80lb injectors maxed out when I got close to 400rwkw, joe got me bosch 2000s and there awesome, atleast now I know I dont have to upgrade injector anymore lol. I think id 1000 or the bosch would be perfect.

My btr box was build by tony dominello, it is 2 years old now, 50000ks on the box, has ran mid 10 second quarter mile passes an has never missed a beat, an I thrash it hard, joe at cms has been tuning it an he has perfected the shift points on the box. Dominello an cms tuned is a win win.
-
Lol we even freaked out, the stupid tyre I had on was slipping through the run with no evidence of it frying, it was actually slipping like it had water on it.
-
As crazy as this sounds, I one day was making 400rwkw on the dyno an then the next day on the same dyno to adjust a few settings, I was reading 300rwkw on same boost an settings, this got me an my tuner thinking what the f..k happened, we could only see one change on his logger an that was wheel speed increased, then we came to an conclusion that mabey its the wheel swap that I did earlier on the day could have made the difference, so I put back on the wheels were I made 400rwkw back on to see if that was the case an then to our amazement I got all my power back, so my point is it could be that your wheels that is not showing your true power.
-
Hopefully you get the new turbo soon mate, cant wait to see what you will get out of it, other then that joe got me on the hoosiers an there just the best radial in my eyes, havent experienced no traction loss at all with those tires, there just awesome.
-
Your cars a beast matt, did your car lose a bit of traction at the start on your 10.4 run, sounds like it did abit.
-
I think later on after I built my motor I will be going either the fg manifold or the hypertune one. Dam you got some ponys with your car AtominCg6, real nice car mate.
-
Lol yea boys its on 85% rakija
-
Thanks mate
-
Thanks mate, it made 407rwkw on 19 psi e85 tune.
-
Thanks guys, before I built the motor I want to achieve some were near the low 10s in if possible a high 9, joe is still doing some little tweaks here an there, were still gonna be using the standard intake manifold an were gonna see how far we can take it. Il be out on the 23th of this month at the next test@ tune.
