Iv had 560rwkw going through my btr an never had a drama with it, box was 5 years old as well an I did several 9 second passes with it. trick to make them last is a good gearbox builder an good tuner, as well as knowing the weakness of the box which is the overdrive fourth gear, never smash it in that gear an always drive it in manual mode.

No that's just box an converter its self, plus you would have to add on 1500 for tail shaft 600 for shifter, 200 for oil, an what ever labour costs. I have my th400 in the built now but I went for a much stronger one rated at 1500hp with all the goodies, box an converter its self is 10000 dollars.

I will be selling a build btr with a 3000rpm hi stall converter really soon, that has just recently been freshened up with new clutches an planetary gearset, box is proven as I have run multiple 9 second passes an 142mph+ dominello transmission rates this box at 550rwkw.I paid 5500 dollars for it 5 years back an just recently freshened it up that cost me 2500 dollars. I want 2800dollars if anyone interested just inbox me. -
I got a price from als for 7500 with converter to handle 1200hp, I wonder would it be a good idea to invest in a reid case, since I wanna use transbrake alot

Who are you going to use for your th400 build, I'm at the same path as you wanting a bullet proof box, my btr 4speed has done well with 580rwkw an running heap of 9 second passes, but I now want to go to the next level an run an 8 second pass. So far I'm in to mines who to use, spoke to als race glides an he wants 7500 dollars with converter, box to handle 1000 to 1200hp, spoke to an other bloke an he wants 10000 dollars just for box, this has reid case housing an other crazy stuff.

Ok your going to laugh when I tell you this, my car consumes 35litres per 100klms, that's with cams an e85 usage. As for roll cage, I don't have one yet, I just go to the track an race, when I fill that my 60ft was good that's when I keep on the pedal an run my 9s an get kicked off right after lol. But I am putting one in the car soon, sick of getting kicked of. \ From what I here an have been told, you can have a 4 point half gage engineered, an you can have the rest bolt on and you will be able to run in to the 8 second bracket, an that's with bolt in gage.

I never do any towing, also the box only sees manual shifting, an the only time the box sees overdrive is when I am cruising above 80klms, I have a 3000 stallie in mine so I would not dare to tow with it, because stallies load an heat the box up hard especially mine because of no lock up. As for my tail shaft it has seen lots of abuse, over five passes at 143mph an three 9 second passes.

Yes still use standard tailshaft an centre bearing aswell as cv shaft, ran a few 9 second passes no dramas

A th400, powerglide , or c4 package will cost you about 10 thousand dollars easy. Don't forget about accessories for the box like shifter, cables etc an then a custom tailshaft, it all adds up. A well build btr 4speed sould cost under 5 grand, I have one in mine, I am pushing 560rwkw an ran it down the track a heap of times and never had a problem.

My stock ba bottom end was pushed to 420rwkw an I ran a 10.5 at the drags with it. Had it tuned on united e85 I think with 21psi, was like that for over a year an then decided to go bigger on my project.

You will be glad you chose joe to tune your car, great bloke an awesome tuner, there are two btr 4 speeds from dominello that joe tunes, an both of us hit over 140mph plus, an both of us still going strong.

Joe from cms is my tuner, never ever have I been disapointed, best tuner in my eyes.

Sounds good mate, looks like you will have a beast of a car soon with that set up you have mentioned, but one thing I gotta mention is that it is very inportant to have the tune right to make the best of your set up lasting an being reliable. You will notice after the rebuilt that the box will be shifting very aggressive, so you must get the tuner to take a bit out of the shift pressure in the software, I say this because I think I remember you saying that your tuner as increased the pressure on your standard box.

Hi mate, great choice, my dominello built btr 4 speed is about 4 years old an has 70 thousand kays on it, over 40 passes at the drags, lots of dyno time aswell, im also pushing 560 rwkw, an have run lots of consistant 143mph at the drags, an just resently run my personal best of of 9.8 at 143mph.
