  1. I also have a BF MKII, it only has DSC and not TC. DSC does bugger all for controlling traction in a straight line.... I have launched it with DSC on and had no dramas as it doesnt cut in harshly like TC Are you saying that you have both DSC and traction control??? I didnt think they were both offered
  2. made the same power on same boost, but heaps fatter power and torque curves, especially down low... car feels alot quicker!
  3. its just a generic carby fuel filter, layed horizontally in the breather line the air has to change direction as it hits the end cap of the filter and all the oil ends up sitting at the bottom its only small so it probably will need replacing/emptying every few months, but no oil is ending up in the intake and its doing the job well!
  4. all depends on your budget... how about KU31s??? im running them on the rears in 275 30 19, and im very happy with how well they hold... at $270 a corner I think they good value for that width in 19". not too many options out there in wide 19" tyres
  5. I have had itchy fingures lately and had to mod something! so I chopped up my hybrid 2.5" cold side pipes and created my complete hotside pipe work with it, and made a new 3" cold side with the NA XR6 intake. the cold side is now 500mm shorter and runs much cooler on the intake side of the engine bay.... im getting it on a dyno tomorrow night to see what difference it made
  6. .
  7. not so foolish as I had it checked out on a dyno...
  8. that's right, I was running a boost controller on the standard tune, worked well the only mods I had at the time were typhoon cooler and typhoon intake, had no warranty dramas at all... im going to try my luck with some more warranty work again, as I have a few months left, mods as per my sig, and yes they are obvious mods too! only minor things thing like coolant leak from thermostate housing, gear knob leather, and a dash rattle, should be ok as they are not related to engine mods... ill let you know how I go!
  9. they supply them to suit BA-BF as well, the flange/runner section would be different to bolt to the block, but the plenum is the same
  10. how about snort plenums? does away with the std manifold and uses the short tapered runners instead.... I dont think that many people are using them, probably because they might be unproven in these forums, but looks like sex and are around the $1300 mark has anyone got any results or feedback on one of these plenums?
  11. after reading this thread, I changed the fuel filter a week ago. the car has done 60,000kms, the filter was pretty clean, it didnt make any difference as it didnt really need replacing... maybe sydney fuel is pretty good I always run bp98 or caltex 98 (both come from the same oil refinary anyway) depends which side of the road im on some people are saying they replace fuel filters every 5-10k kms? waste of time....
  12. you could always run an electonic boost controller if you take it back to ford, just unplug the T piece and remove the display unit from inside your car the ecu hasnt been reflashed, so there is no record of a new tune I had a few things fixed under warranty with the boost controller still in the car (hidden under the dash of course)

    Etc Fault

ETC is electronic throttle control check your TPS check your throttle body check the throttle sensor / pedal box in most cases its the TPS
  14. haha, that sounds like a safe test! does it do anything for traction in a straight line?
  15. DSC, does it actually do anything? I cant tell the difference if its on or not it doesnt feel like its doing anything to control traction at all, it flashes when I lose traction, but that's about all.... how is it supposed to work? it seams pretty useless to me I have a BFII XR6T, 6 speed manual, maybe its suits autos better?
  16. I think the standard pipework together with the F6 cooler wont be helping your cause at all an under battery pipe may help a bit... but dont waste your money if your going to upgrade the cooler F6 intake wont do much at all if you already have the SS snorkel the cat back wont be holding you back at this stage as was said earlier, 300 at 10psi is pretty good!
  17. thanks, yeah I like black on black, the only thing that isnt black on the car is the cooler, and it REALLY stands out! they set me back about $2100 a year ago... I also have chrome inserts for them but they look 275 30 19 on the rears, 245 35 19 fronts
  18. that's a pretty general statement, which isnt always correct... seeing as though it isnt a huge restriction that is being removed, it will probably be ok has anyone had any experince with a hotside pipe change, without a re-tune? and had it checked?
  19. is it ok upgrading your hotside pipes without a re-tune? mods as per my signiture I am looking at making some hotside pipes to suit my hybrid kit. I will post up some pics of what ive done, and can make up some more sets for anyone that is interested
  20. problem solved, the new fuel pump wasnt pushed up far enough into its chamber in the fuel pot, I drove the car till 10kms till empty to test it and was fine.... the pump must be pushed right up until it hits a lug stopping it from going any further...
  21. after alot of ringing around, I ended up getting the Kumho KU31 in 275 30 19, $270 each(fitted, balanced etc) it seams to be a bit of an odd size, not many options out there at reasonable prices... my only other options were top of the range tyres $450 plus, or nankangs and other el cheapo brands which I wont ever touch again! they leave the lexanis I had on the car for dead! the car feels MUCH more planted on the road. cant commment on grip yet as I only got them today, but 2nd gear held fine without loosing traction (270rwkw 850nm) something the lexanis struggled to do, lateral grip felt quite good, but ill try them out properly when they are worn in a little, which shouldnt be too long.... going from 265 to 275 would also help the cause, but now the arse end looks nice and fat! they JUST fit under the gaurds! glad I didnt go 285 wide...
  22. I just spoke to option 1 garage and they quoted me $320 each for a ku31, $50 more than my original price from tempe...
  23. how are the postage charges from the US? -SteveR-, did you get yours from the same place? good price!
  24. from the few options I have found in 275 19 30 or 285 19 30, these 2 tyres seem to be the best I can find in my price range HANKOOK K104 VS KUMHO KU31 I have been quoted $270 a corner for the KUMHO KU31 (I am leaning towards these) how do these tyres rate? or are there any other options people recomend? under $300....
  25. the diamter is close enough, but the width of the actual tyre compared to the rim is what looks too small...
