Spent 20 years of my life working for Ford in spares so that sort of stuff is not a problem Besides the flash tune with injectors Benny I have the following: 1 FG F6 intercooler. 2 FG GT cold air intake ( complete setup including air hose leading to throttle body which has a bigger diameter) 3 A custom made scoop about 2 inches by 6 inches that's attached to bottom of the plastic radiator sight shield just under the air box scoop that cause an air ram effect . 4. Just replaced the FG F6 rear muffler with FG GT rear twin mufflers. That is it, nothing else at the moment. as for torque im not sure but will post some pics and chart tommorow.

Im pretty sure that the 140km still stands and you will prob find that the 30km rule applies to provisional licenses holders or if you are charged with other offenses on top such as dangerous driving and have to face court in NSW.But I guess that law being what it is and what it always will be it is opened to different interpretations and created by government bodies to confuse us. After all our law makers do have the hungery mouths of judges and solicitors to feed.
  4. I was totally honest with the cop and he said "mmmm 104km in a 70km zone, you should know better", I apologized and admitted I was wrong. He returned and quoted "you know 30km and over is suspension of license and a large fine?" I thought DAMN there goes my license, then he said "so I lowered it for you to 15km and over". You should of told the Highway Patrol cowboy that he should go back to his to his station and read up on and learn the fine and demerit point system here in NSW. 30km over and under 45km is 4 points and $972, over 45km is 6 points and $1677 the exceptions being school zones with higher points and fines and on days with double demerit points. The other exception is speed limits posted at 110, anything over 140km will see you lose your license with a very big fine to go with it, that's were the 30km and over and loss of license rule comes into play.
  5. I will get pics up tommorrow. Personally I think that it visually balances the rear of the car. The rear muffler is different between the F6 and XR6t in the chrome tip but not sure if internals are the same.

Got my FG XR6T retuned today at C&Vs due to the fact that it didnt really like the FG GT duel rear exhaust that I stuck on it, it felt a little slower, developed a little flat spot and fuel consumption went up a bit but with 300rwkw from their last tune I was willing to give up a few kWs for the look of the left and right rear exhausts, which I really like. So you can imagine my suprise when I picked up the car this afternoon and was told that she is now putting out 315 rwkw after the retune. What suprised me even more was the difference that those extra 15 KWs made. The Car doesnt sound as loud as before ( had a FG F6 rear muffler ,which I will be selling soon) but it does make a nice sound low down especially when its cruising. My next big decision will be either to install the FG F6 turbo that Ive got sitting in my garage or just leave the car as it is. I spoke to Con about it and he promised me an extra 40 kw+ but personally at the moment I think that 355+rwkw is a little overkill for a car that will never see the track, BUT the thought is on my mind.
  7. But dont they take an XT and add a few bits of plastic, new bumper and wheels and some extra pieces down the production line and presto... an XR??
  8. Lets be fair to Ford here, Ford have a 51% stake in FPV and the other 49% belongs to prodrive. www.prodrive.com This is the mob that takes a standard XT and redevelopes it into a FPV. They do all the engineering and developement that involves FPV and with all their years of experiance especially with the super performance euros you would think that they would of gotten it right with the Brembos on the FGs first time. And to restate, this problem with the shudder effects FPV's with 6/4 pot from fact ory also so the booster and master have nothing to do with the problem.

  11. I did say DEFAULT turbo timer. it might not be a timer to keep the motor running to the turbo cools down but the fans do come on to cool the whole motor. in the end you get somewhat of the same result, wouldnt you say?

You people realize that the FG turbos have a default turbo timer. if the motor temp is hi when you switch the ignition off then the thermo fan stays on untill it cools down to a reasonable temp. Ive had mine stay on form as long as 10 second to over half a minute after Ive got out and locked the car. Had one bloke come up behind me once to tell me that I had left my motor running.
  13. Its the front left hand ABS sensor activating the ABS system. Spoke to Mathew at Race Brakes and he seems to think that it might have something to do with the positioning of the brake calipers( 180 degrees to the rear of the disc , BF's were at an angle to the front of the disc). Either way Ford will have to come up with a fix for the FPV's and Im sure it will also resolve the issue with the aftermarket installations. Im gathering that it will either be a sensor upgrade or tone wheel upgrade or even a new braket so that the caliper wont sit at 180 degrees.
  14. Hi everyone, Yes there is an issue with the 6/4 pot set up with the FG's but it doesnt only effect the aftermarket installs but also the FPV's with 6/4 setup from factory. The shudder comes from the left hand front brakes and usually comes on when you apply the brakes when the road surface is uneven and traveling below 15 k/h. I had my done and experienced the shudder within the first hour. Checked with my mates at spare parts and was told that the booster and master were the same through out the FG range. Spoke to the Service manager were I used to work at and he told me that he had a Black GTP come in that morning with the same problem, and it was the 4th one within the last 2 months. Ford do know of this problem with the FPV's and are working on a fix. I will be calling him back up in 2 weeks to see if there has been any updates from Ford on this issue.
  15. Hey George its all good. I went through exactly the same thing, so much so that I went back to 2 other Ford dealerships and took their Turbos for a drive to make sure and they made exactly the same box sounds and turbo noises. What made it worse with me was that I found a written communicay ,in the pocket behind the drivers seat , between an engineer and a tester regarding a noisy turbo which carried on for 5 days and 40 kays of travelling. One thing though when I got my car tuned the turbo went a lot quieter, maybe because of the extra PSI ??

  17. sorry gents but do your self a big favour and save yourselves alot af timeand money and go get paint protection. paid under $500 for mine when I got my car, havent waxed it once after 6 months I just wash it once a week,and it still outshines all my mates cars after they polish or wax them. Even now even though its dirty because of the rain, from a few meters away you would think that the car had just been polished. BUT if you want a product that will out shine most other product out their especially with dark colours then Superior Polish by Auto Glym is for you. its what a lot of the prestige auto dealers use on black and grey cars just before you drive it out of the show room. It will not leave one streak on the paint work and it wont turn unprotected plastics or rubber white. shine lasts for weeks.

  19. Hi buddy, my suggestion to you is if you are not sure than dont touch them, it could cost you your life or someones else. I know its a pain and sometimes a little expensive but when it comes to brakes leave it to the professional. Brake failure is not a nice thing and I know Ive been there. the only thing that stopped me going over a 50 foot plus drop was a couple of trees. Even though you have done other brakes before they are not all the same. I used to think the same as you but I can tell you I will never touch brakes again.
  20. yeah that type, that's if its genuine and not a copy. there are a lot of look alikes out there even seen some in 18's. the genuines also came with a different offset for the rears of the sedans. had to use the fronts allround for the utes.
  21. Sorry George but from memory the only genuine wheels that are capable of taking the brembos without fouling are Fpv Wheels.
  22. Cant see why! FG XR6 and F6 all have the same brake system the exception being the caliper, the hose off the calipers and rotors. everything else is the same and Im sure if it interfered with the mechanics and electronics of the car the conversion would be deemed illegal and sellers and installers would not be allowed to modify the braking system by law. I did ask Matt from Race Brakes Sydney if there was a problem with the conversion and his reply was that the only problems they have had was customers getting the right wheels.
  23. The difference in braking is unbelievable, it actually gives you more confidence driving the car. the down side is there is a bit of extra dust on the wheels. Price wise for less than 5k installed but worth every cent.

Hi, the part no for FG GT air cleaner box ( which is sold complete only ) is BG9600E retails for $244+ Snorkel BG9A624B retails for $52+ All air cleaner boxes sold as complete only BUT if you are only interested in the lower tray then buy the FG XR8 box ( diff being the outlet of the top is about 1in smaller in dia to that of the GT and only costs about $95+ COMPLETE PLUS $52+ FOR THE SNORKEL. MIND YOU IF YOU BUY THE GT BOX AND INTEND ON KEEPING THE TOP OF THE BOX THEN YOU WILL NEED TO MODIFY THE OUTLET HOSE. Cheers
