The lower tray has a larger outlet thus requiring a wider hose

The difference in prices comes with the different specs of HDMI cables. the early HDMI cables were classified as 1.2 and later as 1.2a and these are not any good for HD tvs and blue ray players. They then released the 1.3 followed by the 1.3a and later the 1.3b the later one being capable of transferring sound and pictures at a better quality thus the price difference, unless you have one of the new and very expensive 200htz HDTVs then you are better off saving your money and getting the 1.3 cable but I would not want to pay anything under $30 dollars cause you might be getting a 1.2 cable. I also read somewhere that Sony was going to release an ultra expensive 1.4 HDMI cable for its new generation of 200 htz tvs. Hope this helps

Thanks for the help guys Guys. looks like a full size spare and new boot mat coming up.

Hi everyone, hoping someone might be able to help me out with a question regarding the spare wheel on the FG fpv, are they a mini or standard wheel? got a flat on the weekend and realized that the standard mini spare will not go over the brembos thanks.

Tough break mate, It would of been a regional Ford engineer that does the rounds that brought his laptop in and plugged it in to your car to get the result of a flash tune but from what I gather it gets worst, Lower your car and lose warranty on all suspension work including steering, Plug anything into your ICC and lose all warranty on it, Splice any wiring into your cars electrical system including the radio or speakers and lose all warranty on the cars electrics including ICC. I did once ask someone if a proven flash voided warranty on the cars computer and was told yes. I guess its Fords way of cutting costs and trying to stay alive in these tough economical times but they wont be having to many repeat customers and to many cars sold if they dont fix up or rethink their policy on warranty approval procedures with the FGs.
-
Yeah is its also sad that by taking this type of action Ford is insuring that they are going to lose a lot of sales. My cousin was devastated, he has been a Ford man all his life and cant believe what happen to him and what ford are doing. I did call a dealer out west this arvo with a fake problem, and was told almost the same thing but that it could take up to 2 days instead of 5 and yes I do need to leave the car an no to a loan car for a few weeks also.
-
Now this is getting crazy and stupid , got a call from my very upset cousin today who called a dealer in Melbourne to book his car in for a timing case cover leaking problem and was told any day would be fine to take it in "BUT" he would have to leave his FG with them for up to a week because they have to diagnose the problem, send pictures to Ford, wait for an approval from Ford which can take anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days. When he asked if he could take the car home after it got diagnosed and rebook it in after approval was given he was told no, the car had to stay because Ford might want further tests on it. He asked for a loan car and was told that they do not have one available for the next 6 weeks. After going off at the service advisor he demanded to speak to the manager and was told by him that it was out of his hands and nothing he could do about it,he could be really lucky and get the car back within 2 days or might not be so lucky and have to be without his car for up to 5 days it is all up to Ford. He told the manager that he knew of a couple of blokes that had same problem fixed last month but did not have to go through all this crap and was told that Ford changed things again in the last couple of weeks and the reason Ford want the car there is so if need be they can do more tests on it and make sure that with all the information they aquire the newer models wont have the same problem!!!!! The end result was that he told them all to stick it and then proceded to call the salesman who sold him his sedan a year ago and the same salesman he was negotiating with now for an XR8 ute for his business and told him to tell Ford to stick it even further and that he was on his way to see Expensive Daewoo for a deal on an SS

Can some one correct me if Im wrong but when I was looking for wheels for my car I was told by a couple of very reputable wheel and tyre dealers that anything over 20 inches on a Falcon (BA onwards) was a big no no only for the fact that they are over 2inches from factory technical specifications (18 inche Dia) for all Models including the FPVs so are deamed illegal by the RTA and if you are involved in an accident most if not all insurance companys will not cover any of the damage to your car if you are at fault. Like I said this is what I was told and stand to be corrected. As a foot note I did go to the boys at Tempe Tyres and when I asked the sales man his reply was that it was not his concern if the wheels were or were not illegal that was my choice and problem.

Is After Market Paint Jobs Poorer Than Factory ?!
tpinto replied to Toxic Beast's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
Yeah replicating orange peel is not hard because most of todays spray painters dont know how to get a finish without orange peel , mottling and stripes. The amount of times I would get called out to a shop with my paint technician to sort out problems " hey Bro Ive got to much orange peel ,its your paint its sh*t Ive been painting for years and have never had this problem before" "No Bro its not the paint, its your technic that's sh*t' Out of 300 shops in my territory I would only take my car to about 15 beacause they had what I classify as true painters who know their art and as for "repair like you cant tell "yeah right, you should of said " repair and paint and hope they cant tell" -
yes it is tiny but better a little something than nothing at all

It might be worth while checking out City Ford in Sydney and Arncliffe, Both Have new service managers and both have replaced managers that have been at their jobs for over 25 years. You know what they say about new blood. oh yeah just a little heads up, the service manager at Arncliffe is Con and he happens to be the brother in law of Con from C&V Performance and just like Con from C&V he too is a realy nice guy.

If its got to do with anything that involves the internal parts of the engine, transmission or sometimes diff then a regional Ford Engineer comes out to approve work

Just to get off the topic a bit but of course people lie about warranty, there would not be one person on this site that has owned a new car and at one point or another has tried to get something fixed for free by exaggerating or making a story up hoping that the service manager believes them and grants warranty repairs but on the other hand I can tell you that service departments at dealerships depend on warranty repairs for survival. For memory less than 15% of Ford owners bring their cars back for service after warranty has expired and less than 5% after the car is over 5 years old so they need warranty repairs for 2 reasons. 1. A customer will bring their car in under the false idea that if they do not have their cars serviced at a Ford dealership then they will forfeit warranty. 2. Service departments get paid from Ford for warranty work performed on a car in two ways, the get paid for labor (at a discounted rate) and then get paid for the part once Ford examines the part and agrees the part failed under normal conditions ( around cost to the dealership plus 10-15%). You can go to any dealership and see that well over half the cars booked for repairs on any given day involve warranty repairs. So believe it or not often to do with warranty work the service adviser or the service manager could be your best friend and will try very hard to get work approved for you but I dont think that will be the case anymore.

Sorry fellas but I think that some of you have JUMPED TO CONCLUSIONS and missed my point, My FG screams of modification from the bigger intercooler to the brembos and racing rims ,rear twin exhaust and GT rear bar and to add the icing on the cake an exhaust note that at idle overshadows that of an XR8 or GT at full reves,Its got nothing to do with me trying to get warranty on my mods, I would have to be an idiot even to attempt it, Its the fact that they took a pictures of my diff to get approval from Ford to fix the oil leak under warranty and pictures of the undercarriage which would of included the exhaust( which I did not give them permission to take) thus them knowing the car had been modified in some way and if Ford keep those picture on file along with notes then every time I go in for a legitimate warranty issue they will know the car has had work done on it and will question and go through every claim with a fine tooth comb making the process lengthy and probably result in me trying to prove that the mods did not in anyway directly or indirectly contribute to the failure of the part in question. It used to be up to the service manager to make the decision on most warranty issues but as I was told its not the case anymore. EXAMPLE, as mentioned on one of my first posts I worked in spare parts for a Ford dealership for quite awhile and can tell you that if you lowerd a car then you void warranty on the the cars suspension components including control arms by Fords policy and it was usually left to managment to decide wether to go ahead with a claim or not and usually they would because they where sensible enough to notice that the mod had nothing directly to do with the claim , What happens now!? Your lowered FGs front lower control arm bush which happens to be liquid filled starts to leak and you take it in for a claim, they take pictures of the full suspension and Ford note that the suspension has been modified well guess what! even though the control arm has not been touched they will decline the claim because in their eyes lowering the car has put undue stress on the control arm, its up to you to prove otherwise and they now have a file for future reference. And what I was told is that if they refuse because what they see in the pictures then service will not even attempt to pull the suspension apart to diagnose the problem because they will not get paid for it unless you fork out the money. Attatch a Dvd to your ICC or even aftermarket reverse sensors or camera, a picture gets taken with the top cover off and sent when you make a claim because of a fault with the ICC, they look at it and decline warranty straight away because they see the extra plugs connected to the unit and its left to you to prove the connected devices were not the cause of the ICC to fail and the service dept will not even attempt to diagnose the problem because they will not get paid to do so. you take it away and unplug everything and take it to another dealer but its to late Ford have your file with pics. Listen Im not saying that what Ive written was exactly what was said word for word but its what was insinuated to me during a lengthy discussion with a service advisor which I know rather well and that's why I posted this articale to find out if any one else has come across these or simular situations lately with their FGs or heard anything along these lines. But it still upsets me greatly that they took picture of things other than the diff housing or oil leak, to me its an invasion of my privacy. Why get my exhaust in a picture if Ive made no claim on it?
-
Its not so much about taking the photos but more about Ford keeping them on file for future reference and also about taking pics of the surrounding area and not only the problem that has got me upset.

Hi all, I would like to pass on my experience with a Ford Service Dept today. I dropped off a BF XT today to get some warranty work done on the ICC because warranty expires in a couple of months. While there I inquired about the ICC on my FG which seems to switch on and off by itself once in a while and the ipod connection is playing up. " yeah bring it in and we will take some photos of it and send it to Ford" "SEND PHOTOS TO FORD? dont you mean have a look at it, see what the problem is and fix it!" "sorry but Ford have changed their policy with the FG, before we start any warranty work we first have to take a picture of the ICC and surrounds and send it to them, they will examine the picture then give us authorization to start work." " Your kidding! right?" "Wish I was but ford have clamped down rather hard with the FG, you have a problem with an engine that's missing or not running right then we take pictures of the engine bay and sometimes the turbo and send it to Ford, they look at it and if things look normal than they give us the go ahead to start work." "Hold on, are you telling me the last time my car was in to get the leaking diff housing fixed you took pictures of it!?" " Yeah we did and sent it in and they told us to fix it" " what happens to the photo?" " not sure but Ive been told it goes on file." " Was it just of the diff?" " the diff and surrounding area." What do you mean by surrounding area?" " some of the under carriage." Bloody fantasic!!!. Im sure with the high defentition cameras that they have they would of picked up the ceramic coated dump, the aftermarket cat and middle exhaust and if they keep the photos on file Im bloody sure that they would of tagged my car as a mod and now have evidence for future reference in case of warranty claims. Has anyone else heard of this happening or any ford technicians out there that can verify this because I can tell you right now that Im pissed off in a big way, talk about invasion of privacy. What next? Ford wanting a print out of your driving record to see how many times you have been done for speeding before they warrant any claims?

Is After Market Paint Jobs Poorer Than Factory ?!
tpinto replied to Toxic Beast's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
In case most of you are not aware it is almost impossible to replicate a factory finish on modern cars here in Australia no matter how good the spray shop is due to the fact that most car makers in the world use water based paint systems (Waterborne). Its still not law to use it here in spray shops but Ford and Expensive Daewoo have been using it on their production line for a few years.. In most European countries and in some states in America it is compulsory. I have seen the solvent system been used up against the waterborne system at the Standox training center at Riverstone and every time there was always a difference in the finished product usually the gloss levels, and Waterborne has a harder finish. But untill we swaps over there will always be a difference. -
Your mate probably drove past a Multanova radar camera, a lot of the detectors have a problem detecting this radar and often only warn you when you are a few feet away but by then its to late.

Hey every one, dont suppose someone out there has the color code for the Dark Argent and the black for the "racoon eyes" on the FPVs ? Thanks
-
Mine did the same thing a few weeks back, it back fired as I was giving it a bit and then just went down in power and you could really hear the turbo. got home looked around the engine bay and noticed that the hose (or Tube) had come off the turbo. You might want to check your hoses

10 psi boost and the fuel pump is standard Here are a few more pics but sorry about the quality, they were taken with a camera phone.

Yeah it would of been me Ras351, nothing much doing on Sunday so thought I would take a cruise to the "Gong" via the national and see the sights.
-
But seriously recon you could hook us up with some fpv *beep* :D I dont know. I left Ford a few months ago so I depend on a couple of mates working there to help me out now. The problem with FPV stuff is that most of the parts are on restriction and a vin number is required for Ford motor company to release the parts. Price wise, I cant get the prices I was getting when I was working there but I still get a good discount.

Its auto djkice. that's awsome power your getting . my traction control light just seems to be popping up all the time now and Im wearing out my tires a whole lot quicker with an extra 15 kw so I would hate to see what your doing to yours with 335 rwkw.

Sorry, I should of worded it better. on the GT and XR8 the hose (or tube) goes from the air box straight to the throttle body. The hose on the GT is different to the XR8 because the throttle body on the GT is bigger . I had to get this hose and mod it . The XR8 hose wont fit over the GT box because it a smaller diameter and yes on the turbos it goes from the box to the tube over the cam cover. Hey senna_T, yeh it would of been me, I was out there around 4 this arvo. And here are the pics of the exhaust and chart Old graph New graph
