  1. I think you would find that if you lowered the car the wheels would look a lot better. The problem is the gap between the tyre and guard makes the wheels look smaller than they really are. In the end if your happy who cares what anyone else thinks.
  2. I just spoke to a dealer regarding a price on an xr8 ute (not a turbo but should be within a thousand dollars or so) and they would not even do the price I had already been given. I was quoted $41000 drive away with the $1000 sports package. Was not on an instock vehicle either. How can 2 dealers be so different in prices. The second dealer said they would lose $3600 on the deal if they sold it to me for $41000? Can anyone confirm if that is true? Remember that this vehicle will have to be built and will still be at the factory after June 1st so would be subject to the 2-3% price rise. Cheers
  3. I just priced an 09 plate xr6t ute manual at $40000 drive away. Is this on par with other ute purchases or am I still being ripped. Apparantly I am getting a "discount" already. No options as yet, except colour.
  4. Would be interesting to overlay the depreciation for xr6 na and xr8. One thing to remember is that most of the people on this forum would purchase a T for the thrill of ownership not retained value in the used car market. Still sucks though.
  5. Is this a fact or are you just teasing us? The "whine" I mean. If this is fact FPV!
  6. Was your auto running a trans cooler? Or does that not make that much of a difference?
  7. Hey all, I am currently looking at buying an xr6t ute, but due to minimal funds (under 20k) probably only a MKI BA and must be an auto (daily driver, lazy old guy, misses will whinge blah blah blah). Do the utes suffer from any rust issues? I know that the sedans do in the boot area, but I had heard some stories about inside door jams also? Do the same block specs apply for the utes (to sedans) and also builds dates? ie does 06/06 get you the f6 block? I know I wont find one for under 20k but was just curious. I am not looking to make it a drag car and will probably never even race it (too old now) but I did hear a few years ago that the 4 spd auto would not let you stall the motor up beyond a certain rev point, forcing the car into limp mode? If this is true I assume that flash tuning would fix this. Having said that I will not race it (hear we go) I would still enjoy some more grunt. I have read many threads regarding mods but was curious as to the tolerance of the BA bottom end. Is there a set ceiling that you just can't go over? Or does the 4 spd crap itself first? I do understand that tuning has a lot to do with reliability. Thanks in advance guys, sorry for all the noob questions. Matt
