  1. Is it just me, or does the second picture show up an obvious colour differance between the new front end and the body? Quality car that one.
  2. If it was making 350 at the wheels that is easily over 400 at the engine. If that was the case they could have gone after a certian 427 with half the price tag. Simply it doesn't make that much power. Did it have a shot of the dyno reading 350kw or did someone just typo hp to kw in the write up? Since 350hp is around the 250-60kw mark it seems likely that is what happened.
  3. 25kw when your talking about 335 and 310 isn't that much. Then consider the f6 makes more torque which people always forget matters just as much as your horsepower figure and the fact it is slightly lighter and I can see how the f6 and gt would be very similiar still. Don't forget that every b series on v8 has had a bigger number on the back but the t6 has it in the real world. Only way to really know is to line them up. This is not a post meant to be bashing the GT, I actually like the car, just trying to point out some hard truths.

  5. Blow by won't put oil in the turbo. If oil is present before the turbo, what is happening is the tappet cover is being pressurised, aka boost is leaking into it, maybe through valve stem seals, and pushing oil out the breather into the intake pipes. If it is only after the turbo the seals in the turbo are gone which is properly more likely. Pretty ceartin Ford don't build there own turbo's so this would be more a manfactures fault, however ford failed to identify it. Hopefully I am overlooking something smaller thoug it does seem like a lemon.
  6. Put it this way, you spent all that money on it and made 5 more horsepower than my standard one. Getting it tuned is cheap insurance against something going wrong and it will put the money you have spent previously to some actuall use. Poping in the exhaust would tell me it is running too rich, as it would be unburnt air/fuel mixture getting through there but I am far from an expert. And then again what car doesn't run rich on back off. Anyhow pinging sounds like someone just dropped marbles in the engine, when you here it you will know.
  7. Rather have a clutch go bang then the car when it turns tail into the nearest pole due to lack of traction. Tyres are THE MOST important part of any car, if they are poor the car will preform poorly.

  9. Spotted RIP85 crusing down the Pacific motorway on Sunday and again stopping off at Ford Springwood. Car looks good in the flesh mate.

  11. Standard car is quicker to manually short shift it at about 5000rpm (it'll be at 5200 before the box gets the change done.) I have run mine in each mode and the timeslips don't lie. Modified car it will depend on where the tune makes power.

  14. I have driven both, obviously own the T but took the SS for a good floggin one day, and to be honest they are very close standard vs standard in straight line acceleration. If he is standard as I have gathered you will own him. No contest.
  15. Put pressure directly into it and see where it opens basicly. But yeah as everyone has said if it isn't that it is a boost leak, check all the intercooler piping and anything that taps into it, ie blow of valve, fuel pressure reg..... Are you sure the wastegate is sealing properly since you increased the length of the actuator arm? Not trying to insult your intellegence but have to ask. If the engine is coming onto boost late aswell it could be this.
  16. You have to agree you have pointed out a lot of problems you would have to overcome that would be non exsitant on a "regular" set up. And since you are not going for huge power I really don't see the need to try something different. Is the thousands of extra dollars to get this to work properly really worth it, just so you can say you have a rear mount set up. When power will be no different than then a cheaper side mount set up?
  17. typhoon bottom end came in in June 06. You should be able to get a lower km one for the same or less money but I doubt with the same options.
  18. Stick your head over to the left hand side of the steering wheel and you will see it, picture on it looks like a tyre spinning, orange light of same pic in dash means it's off.
  19. I don't know, have had 3 cars last week that had turbo failures due to oil cooking in the oil supply line through lack of cool down time.

  21. Bogan's car was the purple T, the blue one is mine. And yeah missing that last run sucked. My car is stock though so only went a 14.25@99.26mph and a 14.38@94.32mph. Both runs where not as clean as they could be so it probably had a few tenths more in it. It was a busy night though, wait approximatly 1 hour a run. Good spectating night though, and old matey dropping his bike was gold.
  22. I found I ran my quickest manually shifting at 5200.
