Why do you want the dlimate control for. My car has it fitted as standard. You know the vents that are on the dash. They actually move. So when you or the passenger dont like the temp that's coming out of it. Face it away from you. There ya go I just saved you all heaps of money. My wife and I say whenever we adjust these vents - " Now implementing the climate control". Wayne

Thought id get in a bit earlier this time. I am at Prestons and would like to organise a cruise to the cruise. So anyone interested reply and perhaps suggest a meeting point. Guys I was just wondering. Has anyone tried changing the colours of the light bulbs. Also I believe there is a company out there who sells pure white globes that you can place in your kitchen. So when you are cutting stuff up for dinner etc at night, you can see much better than your standard off white globe. I vote that trumpy get one of these globes and install it in his kitchen and check whats its like when making dinner. I have heard that installing a red globe on your porch is a bad idea. Never tried myself, maybe one of the more experienced globe changing peps here can help me out with that.

I think it all depends on how far you wanted to go. BUt I would have to say the price you would pay from spare parts would be far more than you would pay to go and get it fitted at an aftermarket stereo place. The dealer could do it if they had the parts adn the time, it is afterall only wiring looms and a slide in stereo plus the cosole surround which is bigger. Plus LCD screen etc etc. But I still see that FORD will charge heaps for spare parts to buy everything you need to do it. I would say just go to an aftermarket stereo fitter and get one done. You can buy a LCD that fits into the same screen so you coudl prob get DVD etc in there as well and still eb less than the parts cost from FORD. Hey the parts might be dirt cheap ring up adn find out what it would be Hope you get it sorted. Wayne

I got my beast from Frank at Brad Garlick ford in Sydney. His salesman ship to me was very good. Mind you I got my fleet company to get all the quotes and the best price for me. After that I dealt with him. He was even willing to let me take the car without payment, as he knew he would get teh money frmo teh finance guys as he seen on the paperwork. Mate at work bought a Monaro about 3 weeks ago. Same situation car ready but waiting for finance, dealership would not allow the car to leave unless they got payment. So ALL makes of cars have good and bad dealerships. Hunt around and find one. But also remember that you only deal with them while you are buyign the beast after that you service it where you want so if the worst dealer gives you teh best price, still get it form them. IMHO. No use shooting yourself in the foot. Doesnt excuse poor service thou! Wayne

Maybe the sunroof is holding it up. I had mine delayed an extra week as they ran out of parts for my car at FPV. I was told by members here that FPV buys these parts from other people so if they run out then you have to wait. Hope it arrives soon for ya! Wayne

OK just read though all the pm I have received already. damn some of you are to keen OK. I have premium sound in my car. So I am farmiliar with this only. Not to say that others wont be done assuming they are possible but the 1 hour time is the time for prem sounds cars. I have not added a red light on the rear window lock YET but maybe next time I take them out ill have a look at this. Thanks Wayne

Guys OK I did mine in the Blue ones. Yes all four doors have been done. I have had 9 people ask so far. so I will go through each request in the order they arrived. So please be patient we are all busy people. I assume that I will be running out of the SMD resistors. as I bought the bulk pack that jaycar sell for like $50 and I only use one value from it. So I will try to find a place to buy the resistors singularly and then instruct you where to go and get them. Just went out and looked at them again. Wayne

I just completed installing the surface mount power window illumination option that was shown to us by those pioneering members in another thread. Like all who have had this mod done, I think its looks AWESOME!. So if anyone from Sydney wants to see how it works and how good a job I did and is wanting to get me to do it for them. I am more than willing. Cost will be 3 packs of SMD LEDS at $18.00 a pack that YOU will have to buy from Jaycar before fronting up. I have surface mount resistors that can be used but only for the first couple of volunteers oops I mean takers. So pm if your intereseted and well organise a meeting time. It will take about 1 hour from pulling switches out to reinstalling them. I work at Chullora and live at Prestons. If that gives you any idea of how you could catch up with me. I dont really undetstand why people come on here asking if they should buy a Ford XR6 T or not. Of course we are gonna say you should. As for the other cars. I have not driven any of them so how can I or anyone else comment what they havent driven. Make up your own mind like I did. Read all the post here then go to the other car forums and read what they say and then make your own informed decision. Wayne

Timmy I think I read somewhere yesterday that siad that this is how most new turbos are made to try to keep water around them to help cool during running but mainly for when the car is turned off. AS the oil runs away but the water stays there adn thus doesnt allow the bearings to heat up as much as it does iwth out the water being there. I hope my memory serves me well on this Do a search on the net about turbos and you should find some more info. Wayne

Excuse my ignorance on this whole issue but I would like to get something cleared up for myself. The BOV fitted to out cars lets the pressure out of the pipe to stop the turbine from slowing down due the the buildup of pressure. THe bov opens which basically pipes the pressure back through the plumbing into a pipe. What pipe is it that it goes into. Someone has suggested ot me that this plumbing atucally goes back to aid the turbine to turn by re introducing the air flow back in into the good side of the turbine. Can someone please give a bit of description or clear this up as with my thinking in this the BOV to atmosphere is just wasting that valuable pressure. The T comes with a BOV as standard so on unmodified cars are we actually losing performance by doing this - blowing off to atmosphere. The comment we got back from GFB seems to be correct when talking about a car the has no BOV fitted at all form the sense has having no BOV at all does effect lag etc etc. Ohhh im so confused my head is going to explode. Isn't it funny what we end up having huge talks about on here. A question. When you drive and someone comes the other way with the high beams un dipped what do you do. 1. Glare at the lights so your eyes get all f&*ked up. 2. Glare at the lights and pop your big 1000W spotties on so they get blinded as well and you have a head-on. At the same time blinding the person in front of you going the same way, as well as the person sitting behind them on the other side of the road. 3. avoid looking at them by looking at the white line on the side of the road or some other place so you can safely continue driving, as well as keeping your cool and arriving nice and relaxed. THen wait for the cops to do there job. I do the last one and try not to get to worked up about something so small in my life. I don't think it is worth the stress. Wayne

Uni, My car is 5 weeks old. I get around 15. I drive it like I stole so I cant get it to go higher than that on average. Why dont you get a lease where they pay for the fuel as well. That is what I got. I pay like 1848 a year for juice and used 500 in the first month of having it. If I go over the 1848 I still dont pay anymore. Just my thoughts Good luck with your choice. Well my thoughts are that people in general are in to much of a rush to get where they are going these days. As a result you get the need to be ahead of every car that is around you as it is gonna save you that little bit more time. Hey we work the longest number of hours of any country in the world on average every week trying to be better than each other. So when we get time off we need to fit so much in to a small time so lets all get there heaps faster. Wayne

Cdm, not sure that I did say there was no such thing as speeding. Or am I just having a blonde moment and missing the point Ummmmm CASA doesnt care how fast you fly my my memory although the last time I flew a plane was about 2001 sometime. as long as you fly within the parameters of the craft etc. Assuming VFR here. I did note however that the raod on the picture is very well fenced. And those sheep have absolutely no way of getting off the road Driving to the conditions is what its all about. If you where coming on the cruise on the weekend to the hunter you could test out the one I have ( GTech that is ) They seem to work fairly well. I am takign it along so someone that actually has dynod there car can use it so we can get a good idea of its accuracy Wayne
