I haven't been on this website for a few years, but I'm back.

I have recently got my car back from being tuned and its making 454 rwhp @ 12 psi, pwer is not the problem but its not allowing it to make anymore boost. The mechanic reckons that the cam gears are sticky. Im thinking that the timing is out by a tooth which is not allowing it to advance like it should, any Ideas?

Which is the better turbo and why?
-
-60lb Siemens injectors -high flow 100cell cat and remove your centre muffler -F6 cooler will do the job. -don't worry about the flapper mod just a 12lb actuator and a gs3441 in tank pump - start it at 15 lb and trail down to 12 and you should make the numbers

So I havent posted alot in the last few years as I sold my XR6T and had other things on my mind. About 12 mths ago I bought another turbo and this time its a 07 BF MKII, Seduce in colour and zf auto. Its a one owner country car with full log book history and was stock standard when I got it. It has a full premium upgrade which includes trim, sound and sunroof. The first thing I did was the front balljoints and bushes, replacing the factory ones for superpro bushes.next was the shocks and springs which I replaced with Tien adjustable coil overs with the optional EDFC. For a little more power I bought a generic sct Xcal3. its been this way for 12 mths. In the last couple of weeks the bug has well and truly bitten after I went on a cruise with about 20 guys in the Sunshine coast hinterland. So I have ordered some parts to get this thing well and truely going...quick. Parts are as follows: full option 3 Plazmaman kit, which includes 4' intake, airbox, battery relcoation,1000hp pro series cooler and relivent piping & plenum. Supporting parts include 1000cc bosch injectors, Plazmaman surge/044 external pump, plazmaman blow off valve, valve springs, billet fuel rail and turbosmart reg and plumbing kit, X force 4" Dump hiflow cat and 31/2" stainless system. I have also got a MTA750 turbo. hopefully these parts along with a tune will net me 500rwhp at about 18 psi... lets see how we go...

So a quick question... If putting on a surge take and an 044 plazmaman fuel kit do I also need to upgrade the factory in tank pump to feed it? I am chasing 500 rwhp.

Sounds like an awesome event im sure there will be plenty of keen Qlders to make the trek down south.

Just wondering what 19/20" rims suit 6/4 brembo's.Make, mode,size & offset? cheers...

So ever since I got my zf 6sp auto serviced I have had nothing but trouble.I have had it to 3 seperate transmission specialists here on the sunshine coast and after 2 fluid changes and spending around $1100 I have found out that the mechtronic unit has had a speed sensor failure code come up. The code is P1134. The mechtronic is basically the brain that tells the transmission at what gear to be in for what speed. Thinking that the repair would be a simple repair like take off the sump again pull out the offending speed sensor and repalcing it, oh no not in these brilliantly designed german built boxes the mechtronic unit is apart of the valve body and depending on the spec of them they are between $2200-$3000. then there is the cost of the fluid AGAIN and installation and ofcourse reflashing the trans to suit the new mechtronic control unit so all up around $4000-$4500. So I asked FRAUD how much does a new trans cost $8500-$9000 plus install. So I decided to call Zf directly and they sell them complete with fluid and a torque converter tuned to spec for $5000 excahange (provide they have no water or accident damage), with transport costs of around $300 and removal and installation of the new box and a remote oil cooler of $700 ican have a brand new box fitted for the grand total of $6000 probably my best choice I feel. so this is just a friendly warning that replacing a failed mechtronic unit is almost as costly as a new transmission.

I have a tein equiped BF MKII with the EDFC. What is the best setting for drag racing, I would think that the softest rear setting would be best so the car "squats down" at take take off but are unsure for the front end or am I completely wrong?

What is a safe boost level to produce in a MKII BF with the ZF. My previous ride being my profile pic (BA MKII 6 SP MAN.) tuned with basic bolt ons @15psi it produced a comfortable 307 rwkw. Now I know that the BF model is stronger internally so do they handle 18-20 psi without going Bang or am I better off sticking say at 15-16 psi for piece of mind. If I do go with say 20psi what kind of power am I likely to make with basic mods such as fuel pump, acctuator, injectors intercooler and exhaust, also do these BFMKII valve spings need replacing?

After a 2yr gap I have decided to get back into an XR6 Turbo. Purchasing a 2007 Bf MKII XR6 turbo with full premium package including leather, prem sound, steering wheel and sunroof with a zf 6 sp auto. Wont be long till its modded coilovers and tuned with around 400+ rwhp. Will post some pics when it arrives later this week.

I am purchasing a 2007 BF MKII tomorrow 6sp auto, full premium pacage inc leather ,sound ,steering wheel & a sunroof for $20k in seduce done 103k.$5K on engine mods and anther $2K for coilovers and for $27k should have a 300+ rwkw with all the goodies.youll pay that for an FG with the same Klm and pov pack. You decide. I've made my choice.

I had pedders coilovers on my BaMkII XR6 turbo. The beauty of these is that you can set the ride height and the comfort level via damping level so in a nut shell they can be set as high or low and as hard or soft as you feel comfortable.
