  1. Thanks guys. I used this Calculator and it told me: Original wheels 17 X 8 +36 New wheels 18 x 9 +45 23 mm less clearance Extends an extra 3mm So I think this means that I will have to watch that it rubs but the actual wheel will actually sit out 3mm further is this right?
  2. Thanks Pazzo. So as I am still trying to understand how offsets work. The standard BA mag is +35 and this is +45. Does this mean that it will "sit in" by 10mm on where the current standard wheel set up does? ta
  3. Hi guys, Will the following fit my BA 2003 XR 6 Turbo: Versus Eurolace 18 x 9, Tyres 235/40/18, Offset 45 ? ta
  4. Hi all, Will this fit on my 2003 BA xr 6 Turbo? Standard brakes and suspension on the car. 19 x 8.5 (Tyres - 245/35/19) and 19 x 9.5 (Tyres - 275/30/19) Offset +38 ? ta.
  5. I fitted the actuator myself last year. Is just stock from ebay.
  6. Thanks guys for the reply. The boost should be stock 5-6 psi (Has never been modded or tuned since I've owned it) and I just want to maintain that after turbo replacement. Should be alright?
  7. Hi guys, Have to replace turbo. Will put in second hand or rebuilt replacement. Do I need to get a tune after this? ta jason.
  8. Thanks Adam. I do not want a hissyfit so looks like I need second hand exhaust from somewhere. Anyone in Brisbane got BA/BF full exhaust for sale?
  9. Hi guys, CAT is stuffed in 03 BA XRT. I need to replace it quick with something as the noise is very annoying. Current exhaust is original except took out centre muffler. Figuring I might as well replace everything except dump pipe as it is so old. What fits on their re later models etc? I do not want to get a tune - just put on something second hand (stock or similar). ? ta.
  10. Got the springs today from Performance Springs - QLD. Can get the retainers for more money but are not needed - can use stock retainers. The stem seals are not compulsory but the mechanic likes to do them if the engine is a bit older when he does valve springs. I have done some research they are not easy to get as separate. The mechanic can get some for $210 - might have to go with that.
  11. Hi guys, I am getting my Valve Springs replaced and talked to the mechanic today. I am buying the Valve Springs and he is fitting. He says that I have to replace the valve stem seals also. When I get the valve springs from a supplier what do you get? Do I use the stock retainers. Do I need to buy valve stem seals separately etc. ?? He also said that the rubber ones are no good?
  12. Thanks Ratter. You are right I should have gone to a tuner first. I tried to do things cheap re diy/general mechanic. Although I took it to the tuner and they did just about every test under the sun before diagnosing the issue. I just want to see if anyone has had them fitted in Brisbane lately so I can get an idea of price etc. Also the location of the tuner I went to is not convenient. I think the price they gave me is not cheap - $1350 - after I already paid $550 to diagnose it. I can get some replacement springs from Performance Springs QLD for $272 (Some people on this forum have used them before) and just need someone to fit them. Sunnybank/Springwood/Beenleigh way in Brisbane - anyone??
  13. Hi all, I have been on here previously with an issue and have not had it resolved. (See previous post below) I have finally got a diagnosis - valve springs are stuffed. Need help in Brisbane. What is the cheapest, reliable option? Car is stock. Who has got springs supplied and fitted in Brisbane lately? Thanks. My car drives normally up to about 3000 rpm. When it gets to there it misses badly and will not accelerate. When I back off there is a loud turbo flutter sound. Rough idle also. I have done the following already: Replaced sparkplugs with Iridiums Replaced Coils Replaced O2 Sensor Did Boost Solenoid lube job (As shown on site) and last replaced Wastegate Actuator.
  14. Hi guys, I forgot to say that I have replaced the fuel filter also. Have not done the fuel pump though. The engine management is untouched. Earlier the messages were "spark", " oxygen" etc. This is what the mechanic told me anyway. I just kept replacing things and it is still busted. Also the some turbo fins are damaged. No other turbo issues re sounds, movement etc. Could this be an issue?
  15. Have not got a boost guage so not sure if it is at full boost but it consistently happens at around the 3,000 mark. The idle is fairly smooth but occasionally it will just 'drop out' and almost stall. This definitely happens after I pull up - after it misses at 3,000 rpm.
  16. Hi all, Here is my previous post before Christmas: My car drives normally up to about 3000 rpm. When it gets to there it misses badly and will not accelerate. When I back off there is a loud turbo flutter sound. I have done the following already: Replaced sparkplugs with Iridiums Replaced Coils Replaced O2 Sensor Did Boost Solenoid lube job (As shown on site) and last replaced Wastegate Actuator. I have now also eliminated traction control, changed fuel filter, replaced spark plugs, coils again and regapped. My 'general' mechanic although lacking in knowledge has at least been patient and not ripped me off - has officially given up. Any more ideas??
  17. Thanks guys. I think I will double check the plugs are still Ok and gapped properly re .8 and do fuel filter. If still not fixed then maybe the valve springs ?
  18. Also eliminated traction control now. Anyone??
  19. Sorry forgot - spark plugs are BKR6EiX11 IRIDIUM - do not know the gap.
  20. Thanks for your reply. Car is stock except centre muffler removed and KN Filter. Have done some stuff myself and some with a mechanic who do not seem to know what they are doing. So I have not seen the fault codes with my own eyes but they tell me there has been a code for spark (Did plugs and coils) then O2 sensor (I replaced it) and then actuator (They replaced it after I told them what it was and how to do it and I lubed the boost solenoid). Fuel filter has not been replaced recently - is it fuel but - wouldn't it play up most of the time not just at 3,000 RPm every time?
  21. Hi all, I need help. My car drives normally up to about 3000 rpm. When it gets to there it misses badly and will not accelerate. When I back off there is a loud turbo flutter sound. I have done the following already: Replaced sparkplugs with Iridiums Replaced Coils Replaced O2 Sensor Did Boost Solenoid lube job (As shown on site) and last replaced Wastegate Actuator. Still doing it - this is getting very frustrating! Any ideas.
  22. I have eliminated most of the regular things. I have new tyres, wheel alignment, wheel balanced and and rotated. Steering is OK and no obvious suspension issues. Pretty sure it is not brakes because it happens when I am not using the brakes.
  23. Hi guys, Looks like this problem has been around awhile but I have not seen anyone have the proper answer. At about 100k my steering wheel shudders terrible. Not the same all of the time. It is not brakes, wheel balance or any obvious suspension stuff. ??? anyone
