About giantlobster

  1. Ah ignore prev post. Something wrong with phone. Everything's out of order
  2. With 18s, the reduced diameter (vs 19s or 20s) means a higher chance of the inner rim edge to hit one of the suspension bolts. I dont think the 18x10 +41 would fit. Not sure about +36
  3. Finally got my new rims and fitting came out exactly the way I wanted (quite flush). Just want to say a big thanks to everyone on this forum esp this thread for sharing their knowledge. wouldnt have been able to figure out the exact offsets otherwise. unfortunately found out during the install that one of the wheels was damaged on arrival and the shop will be getting me a replacement this week so I will throw up some pics after everything is fitted.
  4. been looking at these and quite like them. be careful if you put 18x10 at the back you may have trouble with the rear suspension bolts depending on the offsets. if you push it out to clear it you may then have to roll guards or run stretch..... 19s and 20s dont have this problem
  5. If it's Advance Tyres in Richmond VIC then it should be blank/custom PCD and custom offset 15~45 for the 8.5 and 20~45 for the 9.5 They seem to sell a number of Koya wheels which are typically cast blanks so they can drill custom PCD and machine the centre for custom offsets. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/19-ISR5-CONCAVE-WHEELS-VOSSEN-CV3-STYLE-FIT-BMW-HONDA-AUDI-VW-TOYOTA-VIP-LOOK-/300915756255?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item460ffa0cdf
  6. yeah that's true but if +33 plus 10mm spacer will fit without scrub then I may be able to get around it by choosing the +25 rim if available (not as good as panda is suggesting but close enough). and panda's right there is a limit to how much you can increase the track. I think going from +36 (FG factory, someone correct me if I am wrong) to +25 should be just within the legal maximum of 25mm allowable increase in track measured from mid tyre to mid tyre.
  7. yeah unfortunately I agree with ya but that's as far out as the 8.5 will go. unless I can find a way to have a 9.5 safely in the front without guard or camber work. yeah I did look at import monster they had some good prices on some and not for others. I assume you had good experiences with them?
  8. thanks panda u reckon that needs guard work? if I go +25 at the rear the front will be noticeably out of place being +33 but that's as far as the 8.5 will go. unless I go 9.5 at the front but im not sure if 9.5 @ +25 or +35 with fit the front without guard or camber work
  9. you may be right ford freak ... lol daymn I'll never be able to settle on a set of rims ... I like them they are light and not at forged prices
  10. thanks to all the awesome info in this thread, I think I have finally settled on the rims I want for my fgt, I've read this thread over a few times in the past but hoping to get some advice from you guys (cos I keep forgetting what I've read) to see if everything's ok with fit, allow maybe SSL-ish lowering in the future, maybe, etc, with the following specs (should be very safe): Gram lights 57xtreme (rays) F: 19x8.5 +33 R: 19x9.5 +35 they are light weight casts, given up on finding out whether they will clear the 6pots http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/2009/products/wheel.php?type=spec&code=GL_57Xtreme (dunno why the 09, it's pretty new) I'm not planning for guard or camber work and no poke (9.5 +25 will poke according to someone here). I had hoped for better offsets for the fronts but not a lot to choose from. being a jap wheel they have go and use different terms: inset of 33, is that the same as ET33? nitto invo 255/35 f and 275/30 r, unless 285 fit was thinking going to perfectrun.jp for the rims cos they are the cheapest I can find but they are an import mob and if you guys can recommend a vic local then I def prefer local guys if the price is close. anyone dealt with OTR motorsport? sorry this has become a heap of questions. appreciate the help and thanks in advance ppls!!
  11. not sure who can. if you havent already read this before: Page 22, 23 http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/pdf/NCOP11_Section_LS_Tyres_Suspension_Steering_V2_1Jan_2011%20v3.pdf
