I might have found some light at the end of the tunnel..Found a guy in sydney who reckons if I take him my tailshaft he will supply and fit centre bearing for $110...I'll keep you all informed and post his details if he can and does it..This place is a propeller shaft place,he suggest I also balance my tailshaft for an extra $180..Should I or should I not get it balanced...Ford balances the shaft on the car that why we have those plastic weights on the back of the diff pinion..Which makes my think that the output shaft and diff pinion are included when balanced,so if he balance the tailshaft only I have every chance of having a vibration problem.. This could become the most valuable post I"ve posted on here in my time..LOL

For those of you who like to bite and chew on pens...

Car was on the hoist again today..This is the problem I face...I cant separate tail shaft it has a universal joint crimped in place and even if I force uni out what will hold it when I refit it.....no sign of any circlips inner or outer...So even if I buy a bearing I can't fit it...Rung ford they told me I need a new tailshaft at a price of $1200+

2008 fg xr6 turbo. It's joined with a universal joint that looks like its non removable .

Someone has to know something ? I can't be the first one here to destroy one.

Have a look at exhaust..If I stand behind my car and kick the tail pipe to the right..D/S I get a knock..Could be exhaust hitting something..

had a look on ebay has ba to bf ..can't see any fg ones..

Does anyone one know if you can buy an FG sedan centre bearing on its own..Its a two piece shaft and joined using a universal joint not a cv..I had it on the hoist today and cant find any sort of circlips holding the universal joint in place..Please don't tell my I have to buy a complete new tailshaft...Ford can't be that silly can they?

looks like that dyno was happier than me... Mine made a little over 280 rwk...A fg with one everyday day tune straight into cars original computer...STD ford injector's reflowed...When my car was stock it pulled the pants down on some what 300rkw cars..Every dyno is different..So your not comparing apples with apples in my eyes...When my car was on the dyno...The first run they didnt turn the cooling fan on..The second run they switched it on and it made an extra 20rwk..Wonder what it would of made with some cold ice packed there..Unless cars go back to back on a dyno its all numbers to me...
