Hi all went and saw someone I know who builds race engines.(he wishes to remain anonymous as he is very busy). He is in the process of building 2 big block chevs with twin turbos and said each will be making approx 3000 hp each to go into drag cars some time next year.I know this bloke well and he is not full of if.He has had 2 turbo engines run 6.9 with one recording over 200 mph down the quarter mile .I have been at eastern creek and seen it.Will keep you posted.Cheers Nick

that's quite surprising would of thought most of you were blue oval men rather than turbo men.If I couldnt buy a quick ford give me a camry.

I was wondering if anyone has run a std fg xr6 turbo down the 1/4 mile.I have seen some articles were it states 13.5 at 172km but I think its a bit suspect.In this article its up against an ss dunnydoor with runs 13.9 at 166km. What I can not work out is from 0-160km the falcon is a whole second in front and 0-180km the falcon is almost 1.5 seconds in front.Were does the commordore make up time to close the gap to 4 tenths.Cheers Nick.

Dont know yet.The only thing I have done to the car so far is put a stripe on it similar to the gt and a red wall tyre in orange , most people like it, I will try and put a photo up soon.Would love to play with the engine but a little uncertain as have heard rumours the engine wont cope with to much extra boost .

thanks ,so the brake isn`t needed .I`m an old school v8 boy(was),is there anything else that a numpty needs to know about the car.Cheers

hi again was told by a friend that the fg had launch control. Did any of the previous models have this!You have probably spoken about this before.You put it in first gear (manual box dont know about auto ) clutch in ,and hold the brake pedal and accelerator pedal with the other foot.Engine will only rev between 3500-3800 rpm .Engine is not free spinning its under load and will not rev any higher than 3800.Drop the clutch and brake and hang on,it works tried it.Cheers Nick

Hi this is my first post joined up yesterday,bought my first xr6 turbo about 3 months ago .An FG octane manual traded in my ba acid rush xr8 the best thing I have done in a while.My name is Nick and go under the name of rooster as I follow the sydney roosters , dont hold that against me and most of the names I came up with were taken.
