Went for a bike ride with my brother today ,Bill from bk race engines and I asked him some question about fuel.He said to me that bp ultimate is the best fuel to use.He said it's a heavier fuel and more dense than other premium fuels.He weighs the fuel at a certain temperture so the dyno runs are consistent.Heavier and a more dense fuel means more power.Im into my second tank and can clearly feel the difference. Did the timing belt break

Its real shame on the manufactures, all belt driven engines should be made to free spin not only some.What I mean by free spin is that if the belt breaks valves dont smash pistons.Magna some free spin some don't, most four cylinder Expensive Daewoo crap does not.To replace just the belt $250 -$500 .Bend a few valves at least now with most 4 cylinders being multi-valves engines your good to bend about 8 you could be looking at $2000.00 plus for top end repairs only.Hope santa brings you a couple of grand ,you dont need it at this time of the year .Cheers Nick

dose it sound like a lifter noise,if so value guides in the head,had a noise in my xy at that rpm thought it was a lifter,so replaced cam and lifters didn't fix the problem.Spoke to a head specialist and if the gudies are floged that's the rpm range they make the noise.He replaced the guides noise gone.Cheers Nick

Mate. haven't any idea on the turbo 6 engines.Keep an eye on the engine oil level if your topping it up with more than a litre a week get it fix asap.I worked as a motor mechanic for 10 years in sydney at a high performance shop we specialized on ford V8 motors.Cheers Nick

Mate a compession test will only check the first and second ring not the oil rings,so if the compression comes up okay it dose not mean the oil rings are okay.If the engine is burning excessive oil the plug will be covered in carbon deposits.Cheers Nick

Mate I wouldn't worry about it its probably a gasket leak.If was coming from the rings the plug should be dry and a deposit of carbon would build on the plug.On the fire stroke (power stroke)it would burn all traces of engine oil in the chamber so if the plug is coming out wet its not coming from the cylinder.Cheers Nick

Just following up on my fg .Most of the problems have been fixed only the front and rear bars to be painted.I would love to shame the dealer ,but I wont .I know the owner personally.The problem was with the dealer not following workshop procedures to properly diagnose the problems.The boys from brad garlick at ryde sorted it all out for me.My problems weren't difficult to rectify if they had followed the manual.Cheers Nick

I think there trying to keep the road toll under 400 this year,which will make it one of the lowest since records began.Then they come out and tell us sh*t like,the speed and red light cameras are keeping the road toll down,so why don't we just put them up everywhere.Cheers Nick

Hi how are we all.I was just wondering what fuel most people are using in there T's.I have about 10 000km on my FG and last night filled it with BP ultimate for the the first time and noticed the difference.Have been using Mobil and Caltex 98 octane fuel.Has anyone else noticed this or is it a case of finally getting some clean fuel.Cheers Nick

well anyway im not happy , I stuck to the speed limit all night and she kept on pulling away .What favours or things do I need to do for the next run,so I can be first behind the pace car.I asked first so I should get it. I Promise I will set my cruise control and if anyone passes me I will record there number plates,so you have all been warned .Sorry forgot to mention for the right price will also make up stories. Hey Nick where did you end up...The last I saw you, you were heading down the Jamberoo pass... I ended up following road signs back to wollongong,had no idea where I was.Filled the Fg with fuel my tummy with food and drove to city beach.I think that's what they call it.Then took the coast road home.I was home at about 1am.Woke early and tried to remove all the bugs I collected during the cruise before they baked on.Can't wait till we do it all again.The only regret I think I was one of a only a few who didn't overtake ghiagirl Cheers Nick

I was near the front when most of it went on,I was swamped by maybe 6-10 cars.Slotted in behind the blue gtp,I had the best seat in the house go boy go.Through out the whole cruise never did I feel I was in danger and everyone was always giving more than enough room to pull out and overtake slower cars.From me well done I don't think anyone crossed any lines.It really comes down to this boys will be boys.Cheers Nick
