  1. I dont know what he charges for the converter by-itself as I bought a box and converter package, pm me and ill give u his mobile number so u can contact him direct. Tony makes his own converters from what I understand, they are a 3 legged converter as opposed to fords having 4 legs.
  2. If your looking to purchase the best torque converter on the market for a 4spd trans then call Tony dominello. Tony is the man behind the majority of fastest automatic tranmission equipped BA-FG's coming out of the big name workshops. I have recently fitted one of his garrantteed to handle 500rwkw 4spd box and converters to my T and cold not be happier.
  3. 14.7 is the number deemed required for complete combustion to take place it is refered to as lambda one or stoichiometric. An air fuel ratio any leaner than 12.5 under full load is normally considered to lean for safe engine operation and will cause detonation/pinging that will destroy a boosted engine in no time at all. My advice is drive with a light foot and see your tuner asap if in doubt.
  4. If the cat has been guttered then the absolute lowest boost pressure will be 13psi with no other mods done, even if your tuner tries to lower the boost with a flash it simply wont work. The lose of boost sound like when the hose joining the turbo to the under battery pipe comes off.
  5. Xt and Xr6t tailshafts are different and cant be swapped, the rubber drive coupling at both ends of the tailshaft diff and gearbox ends is larger in diameter (pcd) and wont bolt up. The tailshaft has three legs at each end that bolt to the rubber coupling these legs are also larger in diameter (pcd).
  6. An easy trick u can use to find out if its a clutch hydrolic issue, with the car switched off select first or reverse, push the clutch in and then start the car up. If the car trys to move when u start it up with your foot still on the clutch then there is something wrong with the clutch hydrolics.
  7. Sunoco Max Nos seems to be very popular at the moment and returning great result.
  8. Mahle pistons and Howard rods, proven durability and performace Howard rods for XR6T are rated at 1500hp. Mahle pistons are used in a number of vehicles from my workshop one noteable wrx (HVDFLU) uses them and has handled 600kw at all four wheels with nos. Contact Fabre for details or PM me.
  9. The reasoning behind using a split dump pipe design is relatively simple, when the wastegate flap opens it bypasses exhaust gases under pressure into the dump pipe directly behind the exhaust turbine inturn creating a high pressure area where you really want a low pressure area to exist. So by using a split dump pipe design high pressure exhaust can be kept as far away from the turbine housing as possible and relieve exhaust back pressure at that point helping mid range power and torque. Not really sure that this will be of noticable benefit on an engine such as the XR6T that creates so much mid range power and torque. Just my two cents.
