] same turbo as the rest of the FG's I am pretty sure, different to the BF. And yes, I could notice the difference straight away as I lit the tyres up coming out of the toll booths on the gateway bridge without meaning to and the sound was different but when it warmed up it wasnt so noticable
yeh got one, I play project torque online (its a free download, google it) its pretty good, drift mode and racing and also nascar style cars called thunder alley
I have been looking at an alpine amp/subwoofer combo for $500 as the amp has a high level input to bring in straight off the speakers as well as the normal rca inputs, or just using a line level converter then straight into the rca's to eliminate a bit of the noise. any thoughts on that setup?
I got a custom stainless steel 3.5" dump pipe with seperate 2" wategate feeder pipe and 3.5" hi flow cat from exhaust innnovations in capalaba, brisbane. sounds better and comes onto boost quicker.
my eyes, ahhhh my eyes...I have been blinded by the hideousness. I would much rather have the nice brown dog in the car thank you, although in one of the shots it looks like it is rubbing its pooper on the drivers seat
at least he knows when to retire, not like seton and nameless others who kept flogging a dead horse (and themselves) and I seem to remember winterbottom being disqualified for "irregular timing" not too long ago, is not following the rules not cheating?
unfortunately they are in Vicco, but you mite get one cheap enuf to offset the freight up here. worth a try I have sent them an e-mail to see what they have there, look em up on the internet and click on the xr6 parts on the right
Mitch I would advise against straightening your axle mate, they are hardened steel (about2-3mm thick of the outside metal) and that makes it more brittle. as soon as you apply heat heat or bend it back it alters the structure of the metal again creating a soft or weak spot which may, when stressed by wheelspin or large amounts of torque snap the axle in half. I studied metallurgy for 2 years in college when doing my fitting/machining apprenticeship. Have you tryed ftg auto salvage for another axle? they deal in xr6's and fpv wrecking and am pretty sure they have a few ba mk2 utes as well as a typhoon in there.
hey Andy I am having the same problem with my ute, first gear is basically wheelspin so I am going to try 265's on the 19 inch rim of the F6. I was thinking federals or kuhmo's as they are around $400 then I can keep the dunlops that are on the back for a spare front set. everything else is $500 and upwards. would be good to get some feedback from others that are running the 265's in other brands to see wot they think eh?
for sure there will be debris in there mate, but half as much as if I left my oil change till later. just out of interest have you had your engine since new, and if so when did you change to synthetic oil. oh, and where is the turbo oil screen?
hiddeous I am running what was specified for my car in the run in period, mineral based oil. And to be accurate it was penzoil 15/40 which cost $29.95/5litres and with it taking close to 7 litres for a full change that makes it $41.93 exactly. I will be changing over to some good quality synthetic oil ( probably royal purple ) when I am happy that the engine is run in. And yeh, I am sure that the engine will still be making metal still for a while mate but don't you think I have reduced significantly the amount that will be circulating around my engine and turbo at this critical point in its life?
