  1. Anyone out there know if the FG series are running the same oil filters as the series before and what are the best quality brands? What are the K&N gold oil filters like if anyone has used them? Can't believe ford doesn't do an oil change in their service till 15000km, that's criminal! I want to drop all my oils at 5000km (engine, gearbox and diff) just to get rid of any stray metal filings or particles that are worn off the new parts/gears in the initial running in period just for peace of mind. What oil should I run after the run in period as the handbook says castrol gxt professional mineral based oil till 15000km, and then synthetic after for the v8 but nothing about synthetic for the turbo 6 after run in?
  2. When you say R-spec do you mean fpv?
  3. Looks like they do Wiresquire, here's a piccy for ya
  4. ok, its as good as done phantmxr8. am ordering one today, hope to have it by the end of next week and then fit a K&N when they make them for the FG series
  5. Sweet Typhoon_freak! that's wot I need to hear, I dont want much more than that at the moment so the stocky will be staying and will invest in maybe some new piping from the turbo an/or a dump pipe
  6. was looking on another ford forum and saw this kit using the v8 airbox off the FG as an upgrade for the F6T, seems like a cheap alternative to the aftermarket ones if you want to keep a stock look under the bonnet and not be annoyed by ford if your car is still under factory warranty. The kit is sold with a mod on the mouth of the intake piping to clear the bonnet on the F6 and is sold by ftg autosalvage for $150 + postage. Might order one and see how it goes. F6 vs v8 airbox intake hole F6 vs v8 intake pipe F6 vs v8 intake pipe mouth
  7. seems to be a lot of "simon saysing" about the intercooler being the restriction, would like to find out why, e.g doesnt flow enough or inlet-outlet too small and at what kw point it becomes the restrictive part before I replaced it as the money could be put into new piping or dump pipe with the custom tune. My mate has an mk1 BA and has c.a.p.a flash tuner, nizpro valve springs, growler CAI, bigger bosch injectors all done by elite and still has the standard intercooler and exhaust and is putting out 270rwkw and all that was recommended instead of bigger intercooler and exhaust(wot the?) and my FG FPV F6 stock intercooler is twice the size of his.
  8. The restriction is in the intercooler you say? the inlet and outlet size or what the core will flow? Cause looking at the actual dimensions of it it looks nearly identical to Bionic rspec's that he had done at Nizpro. So would you recommend Elite Auto's to do the custom tune and if so wot sort of price am I looking at? I only have 500km's on her at the moment so I will wait a little...maybe
  9. So what sort of hp gains do you think you would get by putting that sort of system on an FG fpv F6 with no other mods other than say CAI? of course I would have to look at getting a flash tune so it didnt run too lean.
  10. Hi Uniqsouljah, yeh I went right off mate! went nuts on the customer relationship number that's for sure. The dealer that I got it through couldnt beleive it (car came from some other dealer who did the pre-delivery) and pacific ford at Maroochydore took the car straight in and fixed the problem A.S.A.P, so double thumbs up to them! they bent thenselves over backwards to make sure everything was A-OK. Lucky I am a fitter by trade so I had pinpointed exactly where it was coming from so they knew exactly where to look cause they aint the most uncluttered area where it was leaking. And I have been a Expensive Daewoo man all my life so I made sure they knew how pissed I was and they are getting me a ford shirt signed by winterbottom and richards ( I think they could have done a bit more really) so I guess I should be a little happier Still, for me to change you know that they have to have made a sweet car, and it is, cant wait to give it 100% when she's run in.
  11. sigh, great! I bought the new ipod specifically for the car, lmao. The second problem I have had, only drove the car back from the dealers to find a big pool of oil coming from underneath it. someone from pre-delivery hadn't tightened the oil feed line to the turbo that comes out of the block properly. car had to sit in my driveway all weekend till I could take it to the service dept on the monday morning. not a good start to the relationship
  12. Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone knows if there is going to be a software update so my 4th gen ipod will work in conjunction with the icc. My brothers 3rd gen seems to work fine, but it just says "not supported" when I plug my 4th gen ipod nano. surely this is just a software issue?
