Yeh nolz, that's all I am after mate, a bit better bass to add to the stock setup. What amp and sub did you install mate? did you include a line level converter?

phantm I dont believe I was whinging as you put it, merely pointing out the condition of the oil for 2000km and my belief that ford should perhaps look at changing the run in oil a little earlier than 15000km's. And yes there is a 7500 km service for "extreme conditions" but I dont believe that normal street and highway driving constitutes this. it was my choice to change the oil and I am quite happy with that choice and havent asked ford or anyone else to pay for my oil or filter.

mmm, a little over the top on a $60 000 car you think? sure you dont work for ford? IMO their quality control isnt up to scratch. there is nothing in the sevice manual or handbook about a 7500k service at all which was the whole point of my post in the first place, the length of time they think is ok till first change. and yes I am sure all that stuff floating around in my oil will do wonders for the "bedding in" (read scoreing of soft metal parts) process of my engine, not to mention the turbo. And yeh, if the oil is like that I will change it again at 7500, its a lubricant mate not a lapping paste and for the sake of $40 and preserving my engine for a long and healthy life, I think its worth every cent.

service guide only says 3000 check everything and 15000 oil change e.t.c. WTF?

the whole point of it is it shouldnt even be in there. ford should be doing a better job in the assembly stage, and bringing our cars in at 3000km for the oil change, not 15000km

So my car has got 2000km on the clock now, havent been thrashing it but doing a sensible run in and gradually giving it more and more and I have owned/done a lot of work on motorbikes and atv's from new so I know there is always bits of filings and metal swarf from all the components bedding themselves in and bubbing of high spots. I decided to do an oil change and oil filter change today just for piece of mind as I am a bit (read heaps) finicky about my prised posession. Ford, in their wisdom, say in the service manual first oil change at 15000km. now I am not a rocket technician, but most of my other turbo cars have an oil change at 10000km and the thought of leaving running in oil in the car till 15000km worried me a bit. so I changed the oil today, brand new container to catch the oil in, no wind at all where I did it and the crap that was in my oil was bullsh#t. I have seen cleaner riggers working on an oil drilling rig! check out all the metal build up on the magnet I dropped into the oil when it was in the catch pan! Get your sh#t together ford service departments and bring your new cars in way earlier ( so glad I am neurotic eh? prolly saved myself lots of money down the line)

I use nero vision. works pretty good on ripped avi movies off the internet. I also have DvPRO which is a video editing program which I use to make my video footage into dvd's

yeh for sure, just need some MT's so I can get some grip, all first gear does is light the tyres up now, lmao. got a run against my mates R32 GTR coming up soon so that will be a good test.

yeh I would be keen for a vegas cruise and/or dinner at some stage, friday or saturday night is fine.

hey no worries about posting the info mate, its all about getting the best value mods for your money to me! looking at getting a sub and amp installed next with the rockford 360 signal converter but have to look around for some good prices. glad to hear I helped you out a bit mate. cheers! I have gotten some axles for my explorer from the wrecker you are talking about and they were pretty good. if you want to do it yourself I have car ramps, car stands, hydraulic jacks and heaps of tools to do the job including air rachet guns to save the elbow grease, let me know if you want to use it eh?

Yeh lowfutura your car looked nice on sunday mate, but why put an f6 intercooler on it? mine sux its only 45mm thick and couldnt cool squat, I could have waited for aftermarket stuff to come out but I want something personal so I am getting a custom made one. moral of the story... you are f#cking the cat, they are just holding its tail for you, so just as long as you like the cat its all good!

group buy on royal purple oil?

hey everyone, just wondering if anyone can enlighten me as to what setups the utes run with the sound. do they run a seperate amp or is it integrated into the head unit? obviously no sub in them I would imagine due to lack of room, so whats the best way to get some more bass into the car? better speakers? is there some other way to connect an amp to these units without pulling it apart and soldering into the circuit board?

hey boog72, I was looking at putting injectors in as BPS had ones for the FG there but I didnt have enought money it drives great and with around 50kw more through the midrange it really motors now! my fuel economy is still gettting better, around 7.5-8.5/100km on the highway (110km/hr) and average of 13.8/100 overall and I have been giving it heaps. getting about 600km to the tank.
