  1. Hey there guys. It is great to see more and more people on this forum from Tas. As F6T said, we should all get together for a meet and greet or maybe a cruise down the east coast. If you are ineterested please feel free to Pm me and I will see if we can get a few of us and go for a cruise.

    Regards Stoney.

  2. G'day xr6rblue,

As far as I am aware there are only about 7 - 8 modded T's here in Tas. I will stand corrected if wrong. I know of 2 others which you would have seen on this forum who are here in Hobart.

It would be great if we could all catch up, sometime soon for a meet and greet.

    Regards Stoney.

  3. Excellent write up Brad. I think it takes something like this to happen with someone like yourself with the guts to say you stuffed up. We all have fast cars on here and love having them. But, hey I love life better.

This really hit home with me. As you know I was off to Pitlane for mods just before ya canceled the Tassie cruze. I had the mods done around 3 months ago and have been driving within the law until I was on my way back from the top end or the state about 2 weeks ago. I decided in my infinate wisdom to try out the top end grunt on my way back at around midnight with no other traffic around. That was all good and fine as I wasn't going to endanger any one else but my self. Lets just say at a very high speed the car became very unstable and I thought I was a gonna. Yes these cars are very fast once modded but unless you have spent alot on suspension, brakes and tryes you are pushing S*&^8&&^ up a very steep hill.

I have a wife and young son and couldn't stop thinking about how it would have affected them if I had come to grief. It nearly brought me to tears the rest of the way home.

Just thought I would share my story.

    Regards Stoney.

  4. Very very nice power figures mate. You must be like a kid with a candy stick?? Would love to have a look at da beast. Will have to get a cruise on the go.

    Regards Stoney.

  5. Hey XR 0500,

That is sh*t news. I feel for ya mate, especially after all the reaserch and effort you have put into your T.

All the best and hope ya get back into work soon.

    Regards Stoney.

  6. Well guys,

My mate with the VE SS is still to have a crack at the T. I think he is all mouth. But, had a VZ SS 297kw ute pull up next to me 2 days ago. I was then thinking that if I am quicker than this my mate has no chance.

Well after keeping up with him while I still had wheel spin the car finally gained grip and the T rained supreme.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

    Regards Stoney.

  7. Nice work mate. Is the zorst the new Nizpro one everybody has been talking about??? Either way it should free the big F6 up for some really nice power figures.

    Good luck.

    Regards Stoney.

  8. Hey there ,

Count me in. Da wife will probably stay home. When I got the car back from melbourne I took her for a run and gave it a bit down low and nearly ended up facing the other way. You could probably imagine the absolute spraying she gave me.

I am now chasing up new valve springs as the car is intermitently letting go a little top end. Oh well!!

I am only pushing around the 260 rwkw mark, but made a VZ HSV 297 kw ute look pretty ordinary yesterday after I finally gained traction.

    Regards Stoney. :stupid:

  9. Hey there,

Good luck with ya mods Mick. That car of yours is going to be very quick if ya can get traction. Velcro roads might be the go. Ha! Ha!

XR0500. Hope all goes well for you with Mick. He is a fricken legend. You will be very happy.

My car is Phantom in colour and has Black number plate with white letters and numbers. If ya think you see me, give a wave.

    Regards Stoney.

  10. Hey guys,

I can't believe the awsome feedback you have all supplied. It has been great to hear about every ones experiences - be it Expensive Daewoo or Ford.

I was pulling out of a slip lane only 2 hours ago on main highway and there was a bright red SS coming down the highway. I gave it a bit and saw him take off hard to catch me and I flatened it and he soon decided to give up as I was puling away. Very interesting.

Keep the feedback coming in guys. This is becoming a great thread.

    Regards Stoney.

  11. Thanks for all the feedback guys.

It has been great to hear every ones opinion. I guess mine would be quicker. Although the 6ltr holdens are an awsome car. This is not about Expensive Daewoo bashing. It is me wanting to shut my mate up. He thinks he would smash me off the line and by the time I spooled up he would be gone.

I guess if I could get a good start with T/C on instead of sitting there digging a hole in the road I would have him.

I think he is a bit intimidated, or he wouldn't be giving me such a hard time. He has also been very non comital as to when we should have a lash.

If it does happen, on a private secluded road of course, I will let you guys know how I went.

    Regards Stoney. :beerchug:

  12. G'day Occy,

    I agree with Typhoon freak.

If ya get a flash tuner box, ensure you get your car on a dyno to ensure a safe tune. I have recently taken my T to Melbourne for mods as there does seem to be a limited number of tuners down here in Tas.

I have been speaking with Rodney from Howell Automotive recently and he has been spending time with Spiro on the mainland and seems to now his stuff. Would give him a call.

    Stoney.

  13. Hey XR500,

Next time you go for a drive to Strathgordon I would be keen as I grew up there and know the road like the back of my hand.

Your right about the cool air. It doesn't get much crisper than up there.

    Regards Stoney.

  14. Hey Mat,

You are right there. The roads down here are great. Some of them can be a bit rough though, but not complaining.

that's why it is such a pity that sleeperT had to cancel the cruise down here.

    Regards Stoney.

  15. G'day XR500,

Geez mate!! With those mods you should get to the 320 mark easily. Also having the ZF 6 speed is a bonus. Your T should go like a rocket ship.

I have not removed my centre muffler, as the biggest restriction is the cat. I did broach this subject on the main forum about a month ago and was informed the only gain from removing the centre muffler is noise. I also asked Mick and he said the same thing. But in your case, as you are chasing more power than me might be a good idea.

When I was thinking about it I went into Midas and they quoted me around $180.00 to remove the centre muffler.

    Regards.

  16. Hey XR500,

I am getting custom tune - F6 snorkal - high flow cat and Bosch 42lb squirters. Hoping for around 260rwkwasps.

Not really looking for any more power in order to conserve the BA 4speed auto and vavle springs.

Mate, Mick at pitlane is frickin awsome. What power are you chasing????

  17. Hey guys!!!

Good to see there are at least 2 modded T's in Tassie. Probably alot more but don't hear about them. I am off to see Mick at Pitlane for some mods this month.

I am looking forward to sharing the results with you guys. Stay tuned.

  18. Hi there guys and gals. I know this has been covered before, but after checking all the links I could find a straight answer. I am still wanting to know as to whether removing the centre muffler is going to give me a slight power gain. I am off to see Mick at pitlane very soon for some slight mods before the Tassie cruise.

Any help would be much appreciated as might be getting it removed Saturday morning.

    Regards Stoney.
