I also have the 6230 - Its the best phone I've had to date! Five Star This should be a pearler! Should be my Next I think. The Sony Ericsoon K750I @ $799 outright. phones these days have a lot of functions which most people dont use, but Bluetooth is a must for PC interface and wireless handsfree talk. Cheers <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have a Sony Ericsson k750i and it is fantastic. It has a memory slot to take a Sony memery stick (duo pro) so it now has 1Gb of memory in it. 2mb camera that does video with sound, built in MP3 player, radio, internet, bluetooth etc. Everything you could want. The Sony walkman phone that is due out soon is the w800. You can upgrade the firmware on the k750 to the w800 for free.
  2. Story in the paper today End of the line for hero Monaro MOTORING EDITOR: BRYAN LITTLEY 26jul05 HOLDEN'S modern-day Monaro is to be scrapped. The carmaker yesterday announced that the last of the V8 coupes would roll off the Elizabeth production line later this year. But Expensive Daewoo is hopeful of producing a new so-called musclecar in the future. "Monaro means too much to Expensive Daewoo to not have another Monaro at some time in the future," said GM Expensive Daewoo chairman and managing director Denny Mooney yesterday. The company claims sales had nothing to do with the decision to drop the Monaro after a special edition CV8-Z to be released next month. Despite some speculation die-moulds for the reincarnation of the 1960s and '70s performance leader had been sold to Pontiac, Expensive Daewoo spokesman Jason Laird said he knew of no plans to build the car offshore. Mr Laird was not prepared to comment on export programs for the coupe, leaving it to each of the export markets to decide on product plans. "We're not in a position to do that on their behalf, this announcement is only in regards to Australia and New Zealand," he said. Mr Laird said cutting the Monaro from the range built at Elizabeth would not affect jobs at the plant, with resources diverted to other production areas. He said domestic sales for Monaro had remained strong since the badge was reborn and United States sales had improved significantly with the new, more aggressive look and extra power. "In Australia so far this year, it is 38 units down from last year, in the fourth year of a coupe program, where traditionally they peter off quickly. For us to be with last year I think indicates the interest in the car," he said. Mr Laird said the company was also looking to protect resale values on the coupe. Mr Mooney said the Monaro, which has worn four other GM badges on four continents, had sold almost six times as many cars as was first planned. "The new generation Monaro has been an absolute winner in Australia, a hands-down winner in the sports car market," he said. Mr Mooney said GM Expensive Daewoo continued to investigate options for a next generation coupe with other divisions of General Motors. "Everyone at Expensive Daewoo is certainly committed to delivering a new generation Monaro in the future, but there is still a lot of work to make that happen," he said. The original Monaro sold from 1968 until 1977. The name was resurrected after a small group of engineers and designers, led by designer Mike Simcoe, produced the attractive four-seater coupe.
  3. OK I'll jump on the brand wagon and put in a good word for Harmon Kardon. The peak power of most of the HK receivers is usually not as high as other manufacturers but they run at high current. This seems to make them more usable at all power and volume levels. Sort of like the power versus torque argument wih cars.

    Tyres

I have Goodyear Eagle F1s on both of our cars (XR6T and Alfa 156) and am very happy with them. They were around $300 each. I haven't had either sets of them long enough to comment on wear rates though.
  5. From Albury down the Hume just past Benalla turn onto the Midland Hwy down towards Mansfield, then onto the Maroondah Hwy around to Alexandra, then down to Healesville. It's a great drive through the countyside, and far better than the Hume. Other way is to turn off at Seymour, and go down through Yea, down the Melba Hwy. Brian <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Last time I drove down for my honeymoon I went through Seymour then over to the Maroondah Hwy. I was staying at Taggerty, and know the road you are talking about. My favourite part was the 8kms before Healesville. I wish I had something more than a 1.6 Auto Pulsar at the time <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Last time I was down that way I went from Benalla to Whitfield and then to Mansfield. The Whitfield to Mansfield road was one of the best bits of road I have ever driven. About 50km of winding road up over the mountains. Absolutely fantastic!
  6. BUT WAIT... I have found a loop hole. There is no mention of the mighty XA GTHO Phase IV At last, a V8 Falcon I can drive.... Lumpy <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the dodge viper isnt ont here either I think <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Viper is on the list under Chrysler. Non-turbo 6 cylinder Porches are OK.
  7. I just put a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s on my turbo yesterday, before reading this topic. The Beaurepairs guy who I have bought my last 4 sets of tyres from recommended them, and this comparison would seem to back up that recommendation. Most of the suitable tyres around provide adequate dry performance. For me one of the most important factors is wet performance and the GS D3s seem to have it. They were $290 a tyre. I haven't actually driven on them yet but they might be worth considering for you guys looking for an alternative to the Dunlops.
  8. Because you dont like the game there F*wits! good on ya <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I actually quite like the game. I just think the NRL has a higher proportion of F*wits than any other sector of society. Despite the constant media focus there are always some players or an entire team doing something stupid that brings the entire game into disrepute.
  9. Yep. He belongs back in Rugby League with all the other F*Wits
  10. Sorry to hear this bad news Joe. Hope everything works out for you. Here is a short article from News.com.au Link to story
  11. Excellent post JB and a great result. I have been waiting to see actual results of the edit before jumping on the bandwagon. I think the following quote is an indication of just a fraction of what is possible. I think this just the begining
  12. Vixen One other thing - traction control off. A little bit of wheelspin is better than the TC cutting in. Find the revs where it is just starting to lose traction and you have it pretty much spot on.
  13. Q: Why did Michael Jackson place a phone call to Boyz-2-Men?? A: He thought it was a delivery service. Q: What's the difference between Michael Jackson and Casper? A: One is pale and scares kids and the other is a friendly ghost. Q. What's the difference between a supermarket bag and Michael Jackson? A. One is white, made of plastic, and unsafe for small children. The other is used to hold groceries. Q. How do you know when it's bedtime at the Neverland Ranch? A. When the big hand touches the little hand. FBI have raided Michael Jackson's house... They found class A drugs in his kitchen, Class B drugs in his living room and Class 5C in his bedroom.

Yep, saw them on Tuesday out the front of the Museum of Sydney. Right out my office window. Mainly white with blue and red writing.

  17. Mansfield – Whitfield Road in Victoria. I did a five day wine and food tour last week. From the Blue Mountains (west of Sydney) down the Hume into Victoria and then toured through Rutherglen, Miliwa, King Valley, Goulburn Valley, Heathcote and Bendigo before heading home via the Newell Highway with a visit to some of Cowra’s vineyards on the way. During this trip I drove one of the best bits of road I have driven for a long time – Whitfield to Mansfield at the bottom end of the King Valley. The distance is about 60km and other than about 10km at the Mansfield end it is all winding mountain road. I was there on a public holiday and there was no traffic at all. I did not get held up behind a single car for the entire stretch!! Plus it is all 100 speed limit. If this road was in NSW it would probably have a 60 limit. The road from Merton to Euroa over the Strathbogie Ranges was also a great drive.
  18. Chris I saw your 'phoon parked outside the Coke office at Circular Quay at lunch time today. I have to say it does look good.
  19. Dazza Firstly, chances are they will not be any good. They may be OK, but I wouldn't bet on it. Unless they have been stored really well, and they were particularly good wines to start with they will probably be past it. Secondly, because of this they probably won't be worth much if you tried to sell them. The only Aussie wines of that age that is worth much is Grange or Hill of Grace. So what do you do with them? You could just keep them as a bit of a curio. You could open them for a birthday of someone you know who was born in that particular year. JB I have a rule that I never worry about what something I get out of my cellar is worth. I am only worried about what I paid for it. MickBundy Very funny. I know exactly what you mean. My brother lives in South Headland; keep meaning to get over and visit him one day.
  20. I have had good and bad experiences with all four 98 ron fuels (Optimax, Ultimate, Synergy and Vortex). It is more important to only buy from a servo with a high turnover of their particular 98 fuel as it goes off if it sits in the tank for too long.
  21. Read this topic Xr6t Badge, Red 'T' for your side skirts I think it was just a red 'T' though, but it might give you some ideas.

Sedan Sports Leather or Normal Leather?
  23. Normally when I have a Falcon under my aarse I enjoy it a lot more than this.
  24. :ladysman: I don't think it is an hour that they work for though, more like 5 minutes. It is a good feature that you really notice when you get in a car that doesn't do it. You always have to turn it back on to put the windows up. I think they also work for a while after unlocking the car. Also the stereo works without the key in the ignition. I think it turns itself off after half an hour. I think this is the way it works. To check you could :violin:
  25. OUCH. This Team HGAG leather thong is really uncomfortable.
