  1. Looking back the other way
  2. Some photos.
  3. I would like to thank the APS guys and the guys at C & V for a great afternoon. I was very impressed by the knowledge that these guys have with the T and the level of engeneering and development that goes into their products. It was also great to meat some of the other members of this forum and see their cars in the metal. The picture attachment doesn't want to work. I will resize some photos and post them tomorrow. Edit: removed attachment that dosen't want to work
  4. I was just looking at the directions to the APS day tomorrow and noticed they have used a Whereis map. Has anyone noticed that on these maps one pixel = 1 metre. The original drawings were 1:10,000 scale which means 10mm on the map = 100m. So with 25.4mm to the inch that means there are 254 metres per inch of map. Then convert the drawings to bitmaps at 254 dpi and you end up with 1 pixel = 1m. You know it really is amazing.
  5. I use manual mode about 95% of the time. My wife uses Auto 95% of the time. It definitely uses more petrol when I drive it than when she does but I don't think that's anything to do with being in manual or auto.
  6. I too scratched mine the first week I had it. This is the third car I've had with a similar front spoiler and they always end up scratched underneath. I always intend to get it fixed but never have yet. I don't know how those guys that lower their cars manage.
  7. That was "Bang for Bucks". But lets not bring that up again, I remember how much everyone was left bleeding after the XR6T didn't win! I think the BFYB formula they use is useless. I mean it is meant to be Bang for your Buck. So how do they categorise the cars? By Price!! Surely this defeats the purpose of the whole thing. You end up with the XR6T being compared to the WRX and the SV8 in the same category as the Clio Sport and other mismatched cars being compared to each other. It would be better to compare cars within the normal recognised classes, small, medium, large, whatever. I think the XR6T would have had a better result if it was another 2 grand more expensive. It probably would have won the 50 - 60k category easily enough (being the cheapest car in that category) to then also be a real contender for the overall award. Surely making the car more expensive decreases the BFYB but this is not necessarily the case.
  8. I don't think anybody else will have this problem whilst driving through town. I couldn't find the 'flashing blue and red lights / siren' option in any of the Ford brochures.
  9. They only include models from the last 12 months. Other than that I don't know what their rules are and why they have some low volume stuff (like CSV) and not others (DJR 320 for instance).
  10. I went for a drive today and have to say that the T is the best car I have driven over these roads - The Oaks - Picton - Camden -The Oaks. These roads are a good test of handling and performance in the real world. There is a huge variety of road surfaces, pot-holes, humps and bumps etc. From the Oaks to Picton I cruised behind several motor bikes. I ended up behind one for about 15km and he could not lose me until he overtook over double centre lines. The T was unbelievably composed and fast out of the corners. When I heard the Ducati in front wind on the throttle as we were coming out of the corners (it was LOUD) I just hit the power and the surge of speed was amazing. The bike rider was continually checking his mirrors to see where I was and I think he was a bit surprised to see we where still right behind. The friend I took for the drive was also amazed at the power and handling from a car that is so smooth and quiet when driven normally around town. She thought she would be sore tomorrow from the continual bracing and 'clenching' and reckoned it was more fun than a roller coaster. Fantistic!

    It Happens

I found an interesting article I remembered reading on this topic. //theage.com.au/articles/2002/12/09/1039379779472.html I like the bit that says: At revolutions of about 200 metres per second, today's state-of-the-art lead-foot drives approach the speed of sound - 340 metres per second through air at room temperature - subjecting the spinning disc to a force 1500 times that of gravity, researchers have found.
  12. OK I have a theory. One of my last posts I made from one IE window whilst checking the Post Count in another. The Post Count was 100,031. I then went to 'My assistant' and viewed my last 10 posts. The Post # came up as 102,760. So the numbers are 2,729 ahead of the count. This would mean that whover made Post # 102,729 made the 100,000th post. And that was me :o But then I could be completely wrong
  13. What? Did I get the SYNTAX wrong? No. It's just I don't think the ID# started at 1. It is up to 102,753+ already.
  14. SELECT Member_ID, Record_ID FROM Posts WHERE Record_Number = 100000; I don't think that will work. If you go to your assistant and then your last 10 posts it puts the post number up. My post that was pretty close to number 100,000 comes up as Post Preview: #102729 But could you work it out from this number somehow?
  15. Have we hit 100,000 yet?
  16. For St Paddys Day lunch yesterday I had enough pints of Guiness that I didn't bother going back to work at all. Lucky I was drinking with the boss.
  17. Peter I'll be there + one other too. Looking forward to it.
  18. I can still remember How that music used to make me smile... So bye bye...... That'll be the day that I die

  20. I prefer a full manual with a clutch but without a pedal. Once you get used to it (and it does take a little while) SMG is the best of both worlds. Except the one I drive needs launch control and more power. Can't do a burnout in it at all.
  21. Here is an good explanation on how they work, with pictures and diagrams. http://www.thrashercharged.com/tech_htm/to..._convertor.shtm
