Every year everyone makes one and pretty much every year we get however long into the new year and the resolution is out the window. So in the interest of curiosity and boredum: 1. What is your new years resolution? - To get more healthy 2. Will you achieve it? - im going with no !! (I'll start & stop, start & stop & so the circle go's) 3. How long before you give up? - all together maybe june/july, but prob feb for the first one I was thinking - to mod the car but that was too easy cos I know that WILL happen

I've been real lucky with all the cars I've owned. I have only ever taken them to 1 of 2 mechanics, one that has been a friend of my old man for over 20 years and the other a family friend of my best mate who I've known for over 15 years. Since buying the T I'm now taking it to Nizpro, which is where the guy who owned it before me took it. One thing that I'm suprised I haven't seen is this topic on a current affair etc. There is always the stories about hoon drivers, and Mechanic's that make up fake problems to unsuspecting customers more than doubling the bill. But I havent seen any about hoon mechanics. Maybe getting enough of these real examples together may just prompt a story to be done. You may just get to see that HSV pull up next to the 19 yr old apprentice yet !! Having said that how many other types of cars get thrashed? I'm sure it's not just the high performance fords, holdens, Suburu's and the like that get a hammering but what about the people that can't afford those types of cars and drive the beaten up POS that the mechanic thinks he can drive like a rally car. Those cars don't have trip computers etc so they cant check the ltr/100 and the distance to empty etc, throw $10 worth of fuel in and even the petrol gauge cant tell you how they've treated the car. So maybe whats needed is some actual footage of these things happeneing, the camera never lies and id love to see these guy's reactions when they're asked the question and they deny it then they're shown the camera footage. Shame Shame Shame !

Hey mate yeah as I said I'll be headin' up even if it's just me lol. If anyone else wanted to come I was thinking to meet in the car park of supercheap auto just behind the old ringwood market along side bond street probably around 10.30 - 11.00am then head down to eastlink from there and go to where it becomes the frankston freeway but take the exit towards the rutherford road roundabout to shoot back onto the freeway and back down to the burwood highway exit where I'll head down to upper ferntree-gully as per the directions back on the first page. The hop down eastlink will be just under an hour from Ringwood to Frankston turn off and back to burwood highway then id say another hour maybe hour and a half for the rest of the cruise. Brad

Why dont we combine it with a night cruise? Do the dyno day from mid morning to late afternoon then have the first night cruise of 2009? Jman can you speak to Darren and work out a possible date and price. Then we can post it and get the numbers locked away. That way you can get the money up front

Sounds good to me mate, is 20 too many ? going by the comments of the last one where 10 wasnt really worth his while. If we aim for 15-20 set a date and a price organise some snags burgers and bread, should be a good day (and get one of the mods to remove the "any chance before xmas" heading. I'm ok to making it open to more than just T's not sure about anyone else ?

I have only used Ultimate or V-Power, cant really tell any difference from day to day driving, and I havent had any problems with either.

I can understand how it could get that way especially if you have been to 1 or a couple before, but again for the guys who havent been to or taken part in a dyno day it will be a good experience. Like Dillz said we can organise one for late Jan - maybe the Saturday after the 2nd photo shoot? If we can get say 15 cars maybe or however many is worthwhile for whoever's shop is used, and work out a price per car then that would surely cover those who havent been before, and for those who have "been there done that" if they wana come down then it's up to them. As far as a Track day go's I'm really keen to go along to one of these so the next one that gets organised im there.

Ive heard bit over 2k but not sure whether that's fitted or not, I didnt get a chance to get down there to have a chat before they closed last friday. I did message them with my current mods and what I want to achieve etc and they said the exhaust would be the next logical step, I did ask for a rough cost but didnt get a reply. Pics on their site look sik as !! cat converter is massive. Ah ok thanks mate I know it does say for release early 09' but from the threads on their site seemed more developed than they thought. I'm booking in for a service and tune late Jan and will be getting all details then.

Thanks mate, sorry to hastle you with all the questions, but im just looking to change the look next year from complete sleeper to more tuff looking, the mods you have are awesome not over the top just really tight. I'm also thinking about dark agents but not sure how they'll go against the phantom, was actually considering bbs/herrod rims in 18 or 19 but still lookin. Anyway thanks again Brad

that's ok im sure there are plenty of guys who have access to a video cam, I can even borrow a mates im sure he'd come down even though he is a Expensive Daewoo man lol. Would be just good to have video aswell as stills, something about seeing it reach full noise spooling up raising up on the rollers like a bull traped behind bars just itchin to be let loose

Yeah mate I thought when I started the thread it may be a long shot, especially with all the shops that were gettin busy pre xmas etc. I'm very keen to get this goin and like Dillz said organised for Jan or even Feb really. There is alot of people that have not taken part in a dyno day let alone been to one like me so would be great to get together have a chat, run some high numbers and maybe even a few pics or vids maybe?
