  1. Thanks mate. I assume that any place that knows what they're doing will know how to determine which one is on the car? Brad
  2. Depends on what power you want to hit mate? I was looking into getting just over 400 at the wheels but after a bit of research from a few different places and opinions from various people the 10k I had planned to do it turned into 30k and that was not including, new clutch, bigger IC and possibly turbo upgrade, and a brake upgrade, which due to the size of the disc's on decent packages means a wheel upgrade to at least 19" in most cases. I went down the path of a built motor, like what has been said before you play you pay, and a built engine will allow you to play a hell of alot longer, but as wingnut said it's all the other parts as mentioned above that you would also need to upgrade to. My car has run 340'srwk and in the end I could not justify 35k for an extra 60-70rwk. I am looking to hit around 360ish now which I can achieve with a custom tune, and bigger exhaust, and possibly a bigger IC. One other thing you need to think about is drivability as in you want to enjoy driving it. There is no point being able to boast about having a big number when it feels like crap to drive. If you're wanting mid to high 300's an f6 bottom end will do it, but anymore and id say a built motor. The 2 main factors you need to think about are: 1. How much you have to spend. 2. What power you want (or will achieve with the $ you have) Brad p.s wingnut you look beautiful on the cover of the new catalogue
  3. What you call taking off from the lights up to a sensible speed and backing off may seem fine to you but the hoon laws are in place for a reason. Drivers who choose to exceed the speed by over 45km/h, engage in dangerous driving practices or street race against other motorists are amongst those who have had to stand by and watch their vehicle being towed away for an initial 48 hours. Can you handle the real power of your car? maybe, maybe not I dont know but your "taking off from the lights" can fall under the heading of "dangerous driving practices". It does not come down to "if the cop feels like it". Don't get me wrong I believe the law itself is not the smartest and is actually contradictory. Where is the sense in impounding a car for 48 hours, and then having to wait up to and over 12 months for your court case to take place all while still keeping your license. This law carries with it a maximum of a $24,000 fine, 3 years loss of license and up to 2 years imprisonment. When you are charged under the hoon law you actually sign a document surrendering your motor vehicle, so you can argue until you're blue in the face they are well within the law to charge him with theft. Personally I think it stinks but I don't write the laws I like evryone else are bound by them and must accept responsibility for actions. I know of someone who was charged under the hoon law doing 154kph in a 110kph zone and was given 4 months jail. He had no prior convictions or history of anything like this. The sad truth is that it also comes down to the Magistrate you recieve. Is that fair in itself ? Hell no but the simple fact remains that once you have been charged under the hoon law be prepared to make some serious changes in your life. As for never seeing anyone killed or hurt by a burnout...
  4. Forget something ?? ERROR !!!
  5. Over the last week I have seen: Role Models, thought it was quite good and highlights that sometimes it's a good thing that Sean William Scott cant shake the "Stiffler" tag especially with a belter of an oening line such as - "smell my finger...guess what I did last night". A good laugh and one id watch again. Also watched Saw 5, real gruesome as always and a bit of blood shed is always good, and makes you wonder about the mental state of the person who thought up such ways to be killed. Story lines for me have never been great but entertaining enough to keep me watching to the end and trying to think what the final movie will be like. The other 2 I watched were Handcock, & Indiana Jones 4. Both for me were pretty disappointing and unless you have a superhero fetish or you want to complete your collection of Dr. Jones adventures id say wait until you can get your hands on a pirated copy. 7. Yeah I know it's higher I was referring more to the width of the outer supports if they line up with the holes on the Ba
  8. Thanks mate yeah the phoon wing has the middle support but that's all good I have that sorted. Let me know about the colour code. Cheers Brad
  9. Hi guys looking to get a Typhoon Wing for the T, have come across a BF one and just wondering if anyone knows whether it will fit on a BA or not. Also does anybody know the paint code for Phantom? I have checked in the other thread where the paint codes are listed but (unless im blind) could not see Phantom. Cheers Brad
  10. Sounds like an awesome trip mate !! My next big trip will hopefully be the tassie cruise but in terms of km's im hoping to drive over to perth next year or at least part of the way and maybe on the train for a bit lol. Here's hoping someone else can benefit from what you now know. Thanks for the feedback and all the details mate. Cheers Brad
  11. Guy's will any of the beaters mentioned do any custom work? I am looking to add the XR8 buldge with the air slot in the front of it. However the place that does this ( phats custom kits ) uses a fibreglass buldge and attaches it to your existing bonnet, and I want to avoid this. Instead I will be sourcing an XR8 bonnet myself and getting the slot cut out. Phats Customs have quoted me between $600-800 with me supplying the bonnet as they do not have them. Cheers Brad
  12. Truly something that will live with us and effect so many people for a long time. Is his Mental state to blame? Is his ex the reason for his mental state? Like what has been mentioned before we will never know the real causes. Perhaps a volitile combination of so many things in his life. Does that give him an excuse ? Of course not ! The sad truth is this won't be the last time something like this will happen. How many more innocent children will die due to the actions of someone like this. Whose to say next time it wont be a mother ? Saying it is always the mother who is responsible for causing the father's mental stress and anguish is - sorry to say an emotionally incorrect remark. Yes there are alot of dads out there getting screwed over because of the technicallities within the legal system. My sister has been in and out of court for 6 years with her ex because of these kind of technicalities. Ultimatly it has a profound impact on the kids because either one or both parents get too wraped up in their own emotional problems from their relationship and seem to forget the well being of their child/ren. Until or even if the laws are changed with regard to these sort of custody/family situations, we need to look at what is available to the parent as far as coucilling or support when they are told the other parent is awarded sole custody, and added to that they will have to hand over more than 60% of their earning's for child support. Regardless of whether the decsion is fair or not, it is a huge impact on that parent, if their kids are everything to them and they are taken away from them, the impact can be devasting. Feeling everything has been taken away from you can allow you to make decisions you thought you would never make. No parent wants to be told what it will cost them to support their child, instead know they would give up everything if they had to for their kids because that's the responsibility that comes with bringing a child into the world. I am in no way searching for reasons to justify what he has done, I firmly believe that regardless of what he/they were going through, he was always in charge and conscious of his actions, and needs to be accountable for those actions. He wanted to hurt his ex in the most callous and horrific way possible and he achieved it. My thoughts go out to the other 2 kids. Brad
  13. I do the same, I'll park as far away as possible the walk does me good lol my last car was a perfect example of careless door openers and people who have no idea how to park their car or gauge the size of it. So im happy to share the disorder mate and proud of it !! Brad
  14. Like you said mate not perfect but for a home job I reckon you've done real well. Just shows what a bit of effort can produce. I'd imagine a beater would charge a few hundred to do that in a shop. Brad
  15. I say keep the classic. If it's in as good a condition as you say mate it would be harder to replace that than replace the T. Added to that if you want to make the T bullet proof it may cost more than 10k. I'm looking into doing a similar thing now and even though I'm wanting a bit more (390-400) than the 350 you're after my price has taken an incredible climb from 10k to nearly 30k just due to not knowing the full extent of what is needed. Having said that it is a hard decision but I think I'd sell the T by a cheap POS to run around in park it on the street and use the $ to finish the classic and extend the garage then in 12-18 months you'd be able to buy a decent BF F6 which gives you a good base to start your next project Brad
  16. dont worry shaz you can get sea sickness tablets from the chemist and plus it's over night so you can sleep most of the way. Brad
  17. woooohoooo 4 ppl so far plus the tassie guys looks like I wont be drivin' by myself after all Brad

  21. I had an AU series 1 before the T, had it for 9 years was a real reliable car had good economy, got it serviced every 10,000 and never had any problems with it. So I guess im biased to that. I was going to put a C2R body kit on it until they went under, and always did love the TS50 and the series 3 XR8 in liquid silver was going to be the car I upgraded to a few years back but bought a house instead. Brad
  22. only 375.000 km $1250 bargain mate ! $2250 nearly 900,000 km (resets after 1mil ) but a plethora of luxury ( both may contain odurs of vindaloo, red bull and vodka, jim beam & carona ) Only $800 !! back in a turbo for next to nothing comes with body kit too !!
  23. Don't get me wrong while I do care about how it looks on the car im more concerned about the quality and the power it delivers. I dont mind paying the $$ but I want to see a return for my investment, if it aids with the power levels and runs cooler then looks will come a distant 3rd. My choice will also be made based on their commitment to back their product up. I want to know that, even though im buying a quality product and it is rare any problems occur, knowing that they'll stand by their product and the fitting of that product helps seal the deal. Brad
