  1. Yeah staying with the same colour (phantom rocks) there is only one bad scratch on the passenger side rear door about 2-3 inches long, the front bar has the worst scratches which are on both corners but I'm replacing it anyway, other than that the body is in pretty good shape. The add ons are typhoon spoiler which I have which has some scratches on both corners, XR8 Bonnet which I am still looking around for as a brand new one from Ford is $1600 and am trying to find a second hand one to save some cash, and then from phats customs new GT style front and rear bar, and side skirts. The engine bay and inside the doors are fine, just need a good clean. Brad
  2. Was up in the country for cousins 21st back when I was 17. Was getting close to midnight and I was feeling like crap and decided to head back to his place, which wasnt that far so didnt bother me having to walk it. Couple of his mates were heading down to the bottle shop as you do and offered me a lift. After about 10 mins of joy riding and feeling uneasy I asked him to pull over and let me out, which he did finally after I said I was going to recover his back seat if he didnt. I walked the rest of the way back to my cousins place, woke up the next morning to be told he had written off his car. Luckily and amazingly the other 2 only a couple broken bones and some bruising, but the car not so lucky. My cousin did a video montage thing for all his mates which has photos of different times in their lives, and between 1.23 and 1.33 in the following link you see the end result. How the driver didnt die they don't know, but the drivers side back seat was obliterated and if I had stayed in the car I would have been aswell.
  3. Anyone? anyone?, beuller? beuller?
  4. Thanks guy's yeah I had mentioned to him about the better int plus the fact of owning an FPV. He has his heart set on a Toxic one and wants to dump it with black rims, dont know if that limits things either way. Looking at carsales the average for XR6 Turbos is mid 20's-mid 30's and for FPV BF mk2 mid 30's-mid 40's. Again thanks for the info guys I'll pass it on to him. Cheers Brad
  5. mate if you dont mind me asking, where did you get the bonnet from and how much did it set you back ? Cheers Brad
  6. Hi guys, friend of mine I work with currently drives a VZ Monaro CV8 and after a drive in the T a while back has been thinking about coming across from the dark side. He is looking at getting a BF mk2 XR6 Turbo ute or a Tornado. Just after some advice as to which to go for? Is he better off going for the Turbo paying a bit less and using the money saved from not buying the Tornado on mods for the Turbo which could see him with more power than a Tornado or is it a better choice to just get the Tornado? He has modded his CV8 a bit and should see about $35k going on similar ones that are for sale atm. Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers Brad
  7. Hi guy's, looking at adding some external mods soonish and as the add ons will need to be colour matched was just curious as to what it would cost for a full re-spray. So if anyone has had it done and knows a rough price and know of some reputable places to go id appreciate it. Cheers brad
  8. Count yourselves lucky you don't live down in Melbourne with the hoon laws. Hitting 45 and over, ducking in and out of lanes smoking your tyres and generally being a dick will get you fast tracked to 12 months loss of license 8 points on your license, and a bit over $1000 fine, and if you are charged with what is referred to as "speed dangerous" then forget about the points you will accumulate and the fine (large as it maybe) your biggest worry will be how much jail time you will recieve.
  9. No probs Trent, actually got a buzz out of organising it. Wont be the last one I put together that's for sure and certainly wont be the last tassie Cruise I put together. Mind you I'd also love to do the snowies Cruise too. Thanks for the help along the way. Brad

    Tassie Chat

Ok guys unfortunately the 09' Tas Cruise had to get cancelled due to lack of interest but I thought I would at least give everyone the opportunity to chat, and catch up on whats happening on the apple isle. Brad
  11. Tassie October 2009 Cruise Cancelled. Brad. ( if anyone would like to keep the cruise open or take on the organising themsleves please send me a pm and I will give you any details you may need. )
  12. Well as mentioned guys I have no hasstles organising it and chasing up everyone with payment details and sending off itineraries etc but the main concern is those who have put in annual leave with work. TasVacations can still wait about 3 months before needing numbers locked in and finalised, but a bit hard on those who requested leave and then the cruise is cancelled later on that's all. I guess just let me know if you're happy to still go ahead wait it out and see if we get more numbers but understand that it may be cancelled at a later date. Brad
  13. Guy's, giving this until next Tuesday the 31st March for people to confirm their interest. If there is none I'll be posting the cruise as being cancelled. There are people who have organised leave so to be fair to them I need serious confirmations. Thanks Brad
  14. Hey mate what were you pulling before the tune? and if you don't mind saying how much did it cost for the tune. cheers brad
  15. What about pain you've inflicted on others? ....When I was back in school I went through to the junior state Athletics for Shot Put. Was at home practicing with my old man measuring out the throw's. He went in to measure one throw I did and said make sure you dont throw it while im leaning down, and sure enough I threw it. Next thing I know he's got both his hands on his head stumbling around the backyard with blood squirting out everywhere. I went white as a ghost thinking ive killed my dad with a freakin shot put. Left a gash in his forehead nearly 3 inches long, had to keep his head bandaged for 4 weeks until it had healed enough that it only needed a gauze bandage until the stitches came out. Brad
  16. "HAV" is that the model that HSV were originally going to bring out?.....Expensive Daewoo AVERAGE VEHICLES? Brad
  17. 5 years is a good stint. What has taken it's place in the garage mate? Brad
  18. Bout time you put some pics up you hairy backed mary !! Looks nice mate. Before the T I was looking at the SV6 & Bogan special I had picked out the atomic, looks real nice. I know you have engine mods planned, you also got any plans for the exterior? Different rims, hard cover for the back, brakes etc etc
  19. There is an increasing number of people who just dont give a sh*t and have no respect for others property. I finished work the other day and came out to the car park to find what I could only guess was a large slice of cheese....YES FREAKIN CHEESE !!!...on my boot lid. With the heat of the day and what also looked to be oil the cheese had melted a bit. The thing that pissed me off the most was that it wasnt just someone who had driven past and thrown it from their car but someone who was walking past and deliberately rubbed it around a bit. I flicked it off and wiped it off with a rag I had in the boot then when I got home washed it. Fine if you hate Fords or whatever but some people take it way too far and as mentioned above if I had of, or in future catch the little sob in the act he'll think twice about doing it again. Brad
  20. As it's a Ba I wanted to avoid doing that and do something a bit more substantial or "bullet proof" if you will. Do it right first time. I can hit close to 350 by getting a hard tune but will increase the probability of something major going wrong.
  21. I realise you will get varying opinions mate but im not going to fork out between 6-10k to someone based on my gut feeling I still want to get some feedback and opinions from people who have had one of these motors in their car. Power and money figures are pointless until I chose who to go through to do the work. Im wanting to know if anyone has actually used these motors, not someone who was talking to someone who knows someone that has used it but someone who has actually got first hand experience with these motors. Like I said it's fine to say dont use them or to use them but tell me why? At this point all I have is the biased opinion of hpf. I'm looking to hit about 360+ so only another 20-30rwk. Hpf have told me I will need around 18psi and that the actuator wastegate port/flapper wheel will need to be modified to hold the boost, along with a possible exhaust mod. I'm still just sifting through the options, if I have to spend a bit under 10k for the 20 or so extra rwk I dont see that as a good return for investment. Brad
  22. Contacted both of those and have prices also. As you do when you look at spending that kind of money you get prices and info from more than 1 or 2 places, which is what I am doing. Unfortunately im after more specific info covering why or why I shouldnt go with someone, so if anyone can give any factual feedback if you'd prefer just pm me Brad
  23. Hi guy's, has anybody used or heard any feedback on the Venom short or long motor's from The Horse Power Factory? I have spoken with Matt from hpf and he has given me prices for both long and short motors along with power output that they support and was just curious to know if anyone has any feedback. Cheers Brad
  24. Yeah likewise mate, for a second I thought this is it im gona get knifed in the temple in a freakin parking garage, but thankfully it wasnt my time. Good to catch up too mate, and first time someone has spotted me Really happy about getting the phoon spoiler. The guy I got it off messaged me and said he can get me a brand new Bf XR8 Bonnet for $1300 Brad
  25. "you couldn't even pick the difference" what the hell was he smokin when he wrote that?? ...Does that mean I could put f6 typhoon badges on my car and pass it off as a typhoon 2 perhaps that ad belongs in the ERROR spotted thread? Brad
