  1. Original Glazed dam you people I so want a Krispy Kreme donut now!!!! AHHHH If only they had one in QLD
  2. I've seen insurance inspectors hard at work alxr6t and the check EVERYTHING... oil levels/texture/rating, fuel levels/rating spark plugs (my regular place of service doubles as a holding yard for accidents) this guy spent at least 3 hours there going over the engine bay alone of this toyota camry that was in an accident. When it comes to insurance.. you tell the suckers EVERYTHING, pay extra for the priviledge.. you don't want them to bend you over and tell your loved ones they have to pay your medical bills when your dieing in hospital Miyagi - JCI (Just Car Insurance) would be a wise choice! not to expensive, but worthwhile protection Cheers, Matt
  3. Good Question ms700 I was just about to ask the same thing! also is that a Genuine XR8 item, if so how much/how did you score it, if not what make/model/company did you get it from? I personally think the XR8 bonnet should be on all the xr's... regardless of what donk they carry but that's just my Subaru WRX-ness talking... LOL Looks PHAT thought!
  4. I know this is slightly off topic, but those chasing boost gauges which match the XR gauge binicle, I've found the Autometre Carbon Fibre range with blue lights seem to match pretty well... albeit the increments in the day are yellow and not white like the BA but I'm sure it's not much of a comprimise ... Car Toys also sell twin gauge pods that mount where the analouge clock is as well as twin A-pillar gauge pods (which I'll end up getting with a oil-pressure gauge to make sure things are going smoothly there! Just a suggestion for those seeking an alternative to this as the thread is titled boost gauges Hope the mods don't mind a slight hi-jack! Cheers, Matt
  5. I was in at the dealer yesterday and I made them take me through every option (to see if I wanted it) and there were no mention of momo covered leather seats. I know recaro were doing similar things back in the early 90's where you could buy sheets of leather and take em to a trimmer to fit. IMO not worth the money, you could just go to auto-barn and buy the momo/recaro race seats for just as cheap. Then again, I opted out of leather seats on my XR6t
  6. I thought about the paint idea.. but two things crossed my mind.. the first GlennXR^t pointed out the other thing would be if painted and the front needed to be removed would it chip the paint on the new bit.. I mean it's obviously black for a reason!
  7. ahh.. so pulling it off ain't going to look any good at all
  8. as in picture: http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...e=post&id=79714 just under the numberplate, but just above the mesh grill, that be black sucka, I notice is on every XR... whats it for and could it be removed?? I think it looks darn ugly but could never understand why it's there! any ideas?
  9. I was going to recommend the strip back and polish.. If it happens to mine I'll be exploring that option... FalChoon let me know how you go with that? I've seen one T up here (QLD) that's done it already and it looked TRICK!! Could anyone comment on durability, I've never had any polished products so I don't know how long they last before the polish wears off? Cheers, Matt
  10. If I cannot get an aftermarket mp3 headdeck in there I will most likely go a mp3 stacker and FM modulator this works by just tuning your stacker to a radio station... my local shop swear they're the way to go. who knows.. good luck none the less
  11. SWOOOOOOOIT That GT looks horn... MAJOR props to the FPV design team for a horny front end!
  12. I'd be seriously interested in doing this, but I can't see me getting my T until the end of feb/early march... :( I'm also booked in mid year to do level 1 rally licence so this would work well to go together, wet bitumen and mud! after all of it, I think I'd better go tell Steven Johnson how to drive
  13. 14.4 goddammed fast moving squares.. sure is a bit of a change over slapping the pengiun
  14. Sell it to someone (me) as a drift/skid rim hehehehe... I'll be needin a spare one when I get my T
  15. my response above is sort of off topic to the original thread. but to go on topic, Yes I do agree that that FoMoCo let customers put xr fronts on thier xt's, in the same way they let xr6 customers buy bonnets. What kind of business would they be if they didn't allow options?
  16. Well coming from the rice side of the family but being born and bread ford man. Yes it's sacrilige to have xr8 bonnets on xr6's and even worse xl's but it's not something you'll ever be able to stop. I have a wrx with a STi bodykit I put it on my car because it looked good. When I get my T I'll be putting the GT wing and XR8 bonnet on it ... Just to stand out and be different. what kind of society would we live in if everyone lived like robots. /end rant
  17. Heres the smack it for 6 version: http://www.dslreports.com/r0/download/5146...44/pinguin1.zip download it and play all day Cheers, Matt
  18. Yeah the long version (I.e. hacked one) has been taken offline apperently. god only knows why it's like so fun to absolutely spank dat mofo to kingdom come!

  21. can't wait to see it on the car Ian! if you need to orginise a good painter let me know I can recommend a good one on the coast cheers, Matt
  22. Wouldn't go anywhere else mate
  23. Bogan special seem to be pretty good on thier prices as Clyde stated above. Painting would vary, I've been quoted between $150-$400 for painting 1 panel, I.e the bonnet. Bogan special could not provide an official photo of thier exact product, but guranteed me that it would look exactly like thier website photo and if I got one, I would be holding them to that. one thing to consider that I didn't know if the underbonnet insulation would not fit the v8 bonnet, so I don't know how you'll go for heat, as ford themselves don't have insulation on the xr8. so I don't know if heat would be a concern, that said, autobarn sell DIY insulation for $50 a sheet which is like 2m x 2m and it's pretty good quality. Bwhinnen as your in QLD pm me if you're going to go ahead with it, I've got a mate who sells Bogan special bodykits up here and he maybe able to *work* a better deal Cheers, Matt
  24. Thanks Peter, In QLD the laws for lowered cars are 100mm on the ground in ALL places... I will make sure that it is adhere'd too After owning a WRX with a low slung exhaust I know how to avoid speed bumps with great precision Cheers, Matt
  25. I'd never cut and polish any modern car paints... they're not as thick as they used to be. my mate used a c-n-p on his 200sx and it looked great for a few days until the dirt/grit/oxyidation(spelling?) and other sh*t got all over and then after a few washes you now see where the power buffer has been. however I had my car done completely by hand using a macquires paint cleaner and a 3 step wax & polish and it keeps it's beautiful shine for months at a time just using the macquires quick detailer spray after the wash. hope this helps, was a great article none the less, however I plan on only using macquires products until they either change thier recipies and subsequent detrimental results occur or stop they selling them! Cheers, Matt
