from ford, the rear spoiler (kit) is like almost $700 the front bar for a GT (kit) is $2300 rear bar is about $1500 as well if I remember what I looked at on the computers... didnt actually check the sideskirts... will get back to ya on that one.

wow... that's a huge job for the panel shop too... new bonnet, front bar, grille, headlights, quarter penel. dang, for repairs your lookin at possibly over $10k for repairs its already been said, but "bloody Volvo Drivers"

olds had a EL Fairmont before the XR8... my old man always been a ford man, his dream is to own a XY GT or (which is very unlikly) a XY GTHO Phase 3... they are like goin for $150k in carpoint.com.au... wish the old man had one when he was young and stored it away for 20 years... would be rich then...

well, you wouldnt think it, but yes, there was a GT head (just one side) on an XR8 at work a while back, some people out there are prob thinkin "whats the big prob with that" but they have diff valve or cylnder sizes, and it throws the timing out... I know that ford did this to 2 cars by accident, and they put out a notice about it to all the ford dealerships, just wondering, where about was the other one, anyone here that works at a dealership know where the other was? or if it went to thier dealership, just curious (I think it was in vic that it was found, but that's just a wild hunch) BTW, im located at Temora NSW.

comparing these forums with others that I visit over the net, these forums, I must say, are like a lightning strike! I dunno if its the server, the mysql or the forum software, but dang... (im a 56k'er as well, so most things load fairly slow) this place just springs up straight away... Other forums I visit that arent near as fast as here, YaXaY graphics forums, Skylines Australia forums? and the company that makes the most editable forums, VBulletin and thier sister site, VBulletin Hacks. All these forums use VBulletin, 2 are heavily modified, and 2 are just standard, but all arent near as fast as these... so, to the webmaster/administrator, well done on these forums and the site, I know for one that its difficult to maintain a high-quality website and forums, and to keep this place running so smoothly and speedily, its an acheivement... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

I wished my old man waited around 4 months till he got his new car, reson being is that a month after he got the XR8, he said to me that he wished he had waited longer, cause it would be a GT sitting in the garage instead of the XR, but no worries, cause the XR8 gots some guts about it... but GT woulda been perfect congrated bud

My brother has a XR6 in phantum, with hardtop and rear spoiler, premium sound and momo gear knob (5 spd) .... he lets me drive it sometimes =/

My oldies use to have an EL Fairmont, great car, my brother put a set of EF XR8 rims on it, and it was lowered already, so that car in the attach in the first post looks alot like our old car, 'cept ours was white =/ a guy in griffith took it off our hands after we'd got the new xr8 great cars el's we never had any major probs with it.. I think the worst we had was the thermostat, kept over heating once so had to get that replaced, and then it went like a dream again

I thought about that one glennxr6t, but too costly, and time consuming, im just looking for rims that wouldnt need to be tampered/modded with, cause that would cause alot of money... sash, im not worried about buying normal rims, if I was gonna do that, I would get them through my dealership, cause at $531 a rim, it isnt cheap, but I would rather knowing that the rims are brand new, without a scratch rather then not know where they came from or who had been abusing them...

Just wondering about this subject, my boss at work said that cant get them through ford, but he thinks possibly somewhere after market, but dammed if I know where, I spent a whole 3 hours searching just them one day, and came up short... any one out there possibly know where bouts I might be able to find them? im seriously thinking of buying a set for my old mans XR8 for his b'day thx.

im working at a ford dealership, looking after the mecho's and havent heard anything of this on any xr8.. also, my parents have one, 13,000km and it hasnt had any problem at all... runs great.

im in spare parts at a ford dealership, and its $2370 for the front bumper assembly... www.Bogan special .com.au chec that place out and u can get it through them also for around 6-700 unpainted...
