Condolences jamie. it's hard to know just how much of a killer this desease really is and how quick it can turn bad until it hits close to you. I just recently found out my grandma has been battleing cancer for the last 2 years, (she kept to herself alot) and it wasnt noticeable, until recently when the cancer moved into her pancrious. once the cancer got to her pancrious she couldnt eat and barely drank at all, par said in the last 6 weeks she had ate 2 prawns on christmas day. about 6 weeks ago was when I was informed and you saw her go down hill big time, she went from being a slightly chubby but short elderly lady (60kgish) to nothing, lost 20 kilos and was nothing but skin and bone when I flew back to see her in hospital 2 weeks ago. she had lost 20 kilos in those 6 weeks, when I landed she had been given 3 weeks, so I started visiting her every 2nd day on the first 3 occassions she could still talk but very very faintly, you had to have your ear right next to he mouth. the 4th time she slept the whole time and the fifth turned out to be my last of which noone saw her open her eyes at all except when I whipered in her ear that she was "the best grandma anyone could ever wish for" she opened her eyes wide open for a few second and both her hands moved. After everyone questioning weather or not she could hear us and the doctor responding "people like to think they can it makes it feel like they have a conncection then" it made my day to know that she could hear what was being said she passed on thursday the 17th and will be forever missed RIP grandma
