  1. oh and I forgot the f6 airbox and replaced the paper filter with a k&N, both of which I bought off ebay and fitted myself.....peanuts
  2. completely agree, all that for an extra 28kw at the wheels at 11psi, something isn't right? did you remember to re-tune it afterwards? why didn't u do the injectors as well? my xr6t went from 240 to 320 on an 8psi boost custom tune with nothing else other than new injectors, didn't touch the intercooler what were the before & after torque figures like?
  3. I turned off the traction control (I assume that disables the DSC) and it still did it without fail....
  4. Well the tuner is a forum sp0nsor, I'd like to think they know what they're doing, maybe they dumbed down telling me what they did for my benefit (being mechanically illiterate) or I misunderstood them, but either way it's working fine now so I'm happy! I wasn't trying to mislead anyone, a couple of people were having the same problem and wanted to know what I did to fix it.
  5. Update - All fixed, due to one or all of the following (I decided to do them all at once rather than trial and error): - Increased the pressure in the transmission lines by 10% - Changed the 1st gear shift point in ECU - Replaced auto transmission filter and oil with a premium synthetic oil it's changing oh so sweetly now even at 10psi!
  6. it's hitting the rev limiter without wheelspin, esp on or off traction isn't an issue..... I have a couple more ideas now: 1. Get the tuner to increase the pressure in the auto lines so the gears change quicker 2. Check the actuator is not over tightened/sticking I'm still reading a little about porting the wastegate in helping the overboost, it sounds feasible.
  7. well thanks for the advice guys, it sounds as though the conscientious is I take it back to the tuners and see if they can fix it (hopefully by tweaking the ZF's gear changes) I took it for a drive today with the cool weather it's hitting the rev limiter pretty much all the time :( will let you know how I go.
  8. I think I may have overdone the mods a little (custom tune, 10 psi, injectors, air, exhaust), 1st gear shoots by so fast now that occasionally the ZF (in auto mode) can't change to 2nd gear in time and the stupid rev limiter kicks in and I get thrown forward in my seat. I can change it in manual mode ok but it's really dicey, spending too much time focusing on the rpm. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone think of a way to work around it? I thought of a couple of options in theory, not sure what's involved, who I could get to do them or if they are even possible.... 1) Removing the rev limiter? 2) Port the wastegate or add a new bigger one so the gasses can escape and prevent overboosting? 3) Can the ZF be programmed to change gears any quicker? )Was also wondering if changing the transmission oil etc might help speed the change a little, it does seem a tad slow than I'd expect) 4) Making the 1st gear ratio a little taller from the 4.17 to a 4.10 or 4.0? (Personally I think the 1st gear ratio in the ZF is a little too short at 4.17) 5) Bigger wheels on the car, bigger wheels give a taller gear ratio from memory? Thanks!
  9. thanks Paulie, I took your advice and ordered some good speakers from a USA car store. I'll possibly look at replacing the oem sub with an active sub (I was thinking this one: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qQ6ySkarA5G/A...px?I=023THB200A ) if I'm still not happy with the sound, but I'm hoping as you said the speakers will be enough!
  10. Many thanks for the great advice Paulie! I did get the Ghia Turbo, but as you said, premium my ass! I assume the same advice applies, I'll take it apart and see what I've got to work with. Thanks again!
  11. Hi Guys, Bought myself a new ex Police Force Territory Turbo yesterday, am extremely happy with it, half RRP and only 12 months old. Going to do the Nizpro mods, probably will wait till the warrant has expired though, not sure just yet. I have one issue with the Territory, the stock speakers sound like absolute crap, they are "hollow" sounding, I've played with the bass and trebble and balance/fade etc but I can't get the speakers to sound even remotely decent. Is this a known issue? Anyone able to recommend a good set of speakers for the Territory or is it the built in audio system that's the problem and not the speakers? Cheers.
